A busy weekend on the West Coast Mainline, with the queens funeral taking place in London and thousands more visitors to the capital. Additional trains were drafted in to help relieve the pressure on Avanti West Coast services. These came in the form of LSL’s intercity set hauled by 90002 and Riviera Trains with a rake of mk2 carriages and 86401! So look out for those services as well as the other regulars of the West Coast Mainline such as Avanti Pendolinos & Voyagers and London North Western 350’s.
The majority of the video is filmed at Milton Keynes with a few clips towards the end taken at the next station just north, Wolverton.

I grew up in New Bradwell, my Dad was a brass fitter at Wolverton Works all his life. Left Wolverton station many times (on a free rail pass :) ) on holidays to Southend, Clacton, Great Yarmouth. I can remember using the wooden ticket office that was built onto the bridge, find old memories…
