You never fail to make me giggle. "The plants need bigger shoes" love it. Thanks for bringing so much positivity into all our lives. Have a great week 💖
Nettles are highly medicinal. If she’s chosen you I’d continue to grow her, on a sunny sill if not outside. Harvest for tea, broth, fertiliser even. But work with her, don’t let the stigma of misinformation and social conditioning tell you otherwise. I gave up my coffee for these teas and can’t even begin to express how magical it is to work with these plants 😍❤️🙏 (P.S Thank you for your lovely energy ❤️)
If that's Stinging Nettle you have, it has valuable medicinal properties which are well worth looking into. I love your gardens, green house, all the bird song and kitty, of course. Your videos are such a pick-me-up! Thank you for sharing!
You have inspired me to get out into my garden … mmmm maybe when it stops raining here in Sydney (Aust). Your videos are always so positive and make me smile, so thanks and enjoy your week 🤗 👩🌾🇦🇺
Oh my gosh! You need to screen shot the moment when she turns her head and looks at you from the couch! It’s perfection with the blurred tulips in the foreground and her beautiful face in the greenhouse. Absolutely need to be printed and framed!
“Your girl grows nettles” 🥰. Nettles prefer good soil too so you’re definitely doing something right, celebrate the wins! Love cottage flowers and plants, I can’t wait for next week
Your boxes are totally beautiful. I love it. I wish i had a friend like you. I'm 35, childless and enjoy gardening and planting so much. Also love tea and cake. I'm in Scotland so I'm a bit far away 🤣🤣🤣. I've planted giant thistles, pumpkins, sunflowers, tomatoes and a bundle of wild flowers.
You are a sweetheart. I'm so glad I found you. I giggled when you referenced Monty. He's really is our gardening guru. Your yard is charming like you & your home.
Little garden therapy. Love the sound of birds and rain. Don't be harsh on the nettle. It might just be a sign to start a little bit of an herb and medicinal garden. 😊
Miss Catherine.... the nettles are the most healthiest thing you can grow, and some of the most vitamin rich food ever.... just dont lettem sting yah.... makes great tea!! You made my day love.... all alone, no garden, no children, on Mothers Day... Bless You love... sure enjoying your gardens. Much Love always from Canada xx
Your channel is named so appropriately... wearing a dainty dress and potting your babies in bigger "shoes" ( I'm going use this phrase from now on ). l really enjoy your sweet attitude towards gardening... such a joyful respite 🌼🌻🌸💕
You'll be amazed at the hollyhocks - no need to stake them. I live in New Zealand (growing zone 9 also) and in a very windy area - we get ex-cyclones coming through. I've never staked my hollyhocks, and they don't fall over - they have such strong stems! You'll be able to harvest LOADS of seeds off them too. Thank you for another lovely cosy and inspiring video x
Catherine! you did nothing wrong...put the nettle somewhere behind your greenhouse or somewhere...they are known to support at least 40 different types of insects and the birds and the butterflies....good effort girl...!
I was smiling to myself yesterday whilst painting a mirror with home-made chalk paint for the first time. Kept hearing your voice telling me what and what not to do. Thank you. It turned out well.
@@rebeccarendle3706 Hey rebecca, you should be able to find it on pinterst, but it's basically wall paint and plaster of paris mixed, just make sure its wall paint and not satin/eggshell
@@DaintyDiaries thank you Catherine 👍😊. Sorry I have to ask but what is the difference between wall paint and satin/eggshell? I thought those were types of wall paint?🙈... Sorry🙏.. I have no clue about paint🙈.. I have only ever painted indoor walls.. And always Dulux basic bright white matt wall paint😬
@@rebeccarendle3706 as far as I know wall paint is emulsion, satin and eggshell are usually used on surfaces like furniture, woods, metals etc (although you can get satin emulsion too, so maybe its the stuff that gives the sheen in the paint you need to avoid). If I was trying this I would go with the matt emulsion and plaster of paris. However, I hope someone corrects me if I am mistaken :) x
You are such a delight Catherine…they need bigger shoes? 😂 an expression I haven’t heard, but loving it. And to garden in a dress just shocks me. I wear grubby jeans and an old t-shirt… maybe I need to find a gardening dress too? Nope, not going to happen 😉 I look forward to your videos and thoroughly enjoy them, often watching them twice.
Ah, I’m loving the sound of the rain and the bird chirping, just wonderful. It’s sounds like one of those soundtracks they have for meditation! I love it!
Garden is looking gorgeous. Don’t put that nettle in the compost, it will grow and spread with root runners. Leave it lying out in the sun to dry out. Then put it in the bin.
Nettles can be eaten and cooked like spinich also people have made tea from nettles, so did good. Blonde reaction was like "what I'm awake" funny kitty. Take care keep on growing.
I have volunteer purple nettles. I just looked up about them in the last few days. Edible and lots of benefits. On a different note, stinging nettles are often soaked in a bucket/barrel of rain water to make an organic fertilizer.
Only found your channel a few days ago but ive watched every single garden video and i instantly feel so cosy and comfy when I watch them. Thank you for creating these!
I love your greenhouse, a girly cosy space. You can grow on the nettle and make a plant fertiliser from it. Just add to water, let infuse for a few weeks, dilute and feed plants. Turn an accident into a win. 😁
IT'S HERE.! So thrilled to receive my copy of your book Catherine and signed too. Just in time for my birthday. I thought 'd be ripping off the packing but no !.A quiet moment with a cuppa in my back porch. I want to savor every page. Congratulations its all come together . Hope we can await a Dainty gardening book. That would be a fabulous next project. 💞
Thanks! Love your videos! Your garden is what I wish I could have. Nice small and contained. I have ten acres and its overwhelming. So I have been doing container gardening to satify my need to grow things LOL
Always love a cutting garden, Purchased 2 hydrangea plants from Aldi today. Well rescue was more the word. So wilted but I dunked them in the rain barrel and they are thanking me. I'm thinking they need bigger shoes. ha ha Zone 8 North Texas. Enjoyed the sound of rain and birds. Enjoy your week.
You keep going and soon you will have no grass just plants 🪴😆 you definitely have a green thumb, everything you plant seems to grow lucky you. Must be the luck of the irish I would have stayed in the greenhouse with a hot cup of tea and a blanket oh and of course Blondie and listen to the rain.

Your garden is so charming😊 it makes me remember how excited I was at 32 to find gardening. I fell in love with digging in the dirt. A lovely rainy day in the garden 🌷 those birds sounded so happy!!
The things that you thought were poppies look like aqueilgias and yes it is a nettle lol - probably a rogue seed in your compost!
You are such a ray of sunshine even on rainy days! Looking forward to your cottage plants next week. 💐🌹🌸
Oh thank you Robin! x
Beechgrove garden is the name you are looking for.
I can only grow nettles and weeds, everything else dies lol 🌱🌱🌱
