We have gone twice and weren't entirely impressed either.

Quaker steak and lube is based out of Pittsburgh pa and they have a few locations throughout pa and they do have very good food
We may have to give them another try at some point.
I have not tried this place yet...and after the video I probably won't. If I want fish...it's Huck Finn's. Philly Steak? Can't think of the name of it but it is in Gatlinburg on one of the back streets off main...about halfway up the hill. They rock Philly's. Have ya'll tried Paula Deen's yet? I have been thinking of her cheddar biscuits all weekend..lol. Hope ya'll have a great week ahead and God bless!
With Huck Finn's in town, it's hard to go anywhere else in town for some fish. Are you thinking of Big Foot Philly Cheesesteaks? We haven't tried Paula Deen's but we'll be back in town from this Saturday through Friday and have it on our list. We can't wait to try it. Thanks so mcuh for watching, Cathy. We never got to experience Mr. Gattis but have heard great things about it. Quaker Steak was rough. We like to give everything a second chance but like I said, the one that I visited when I had to work in Iowa was not great. We hope that you're having a great weekend, Sean.

We had one here in Newport News va. I found the food was really good but I never eat the wings. Some of the people I work with at NNSB liked them. I really think like you said it was late also might have been the chief ( cooks) at that time. 😊

We used to have one in Springfield, Illinois for a short time before it closed down.

@@EveryDayIsSaturdayTV I went a couple times and liked it. Didn't last very long. Not sure it topped other places similar to it but the main issue was the lease conditions. There were plans to build more around the space but the plans never materialized. That's what led to our location closing down.
I always appreciate that you guys are among the bloggers who aren't afraid to give a place a negative review when it's warranted. I love a positive review, but it's good to be forewarned when a place might not deliver!

Quaker Steak and Lube began in our home area. All I can say is why go to a place that specializes in WINGS and not eat WINGS? I do believe that since they franchised/expanded the quality of the additional locations is not good.
We mentioned in the video that we’ve tried their wings before. We feel that they should also be able to deliver any item on their menu and not just their specialty items. We’d like to try the original location at some point and experience how Quaker Steak and Lube was intended to be.

It’s always a red flag when the fish is labeled “white fish” on the menu or they don’t say what kind of fish! If it isn’t cod or pollock then it’s usually no bueno! Bummer!

Malt vinegar & salt is way to go of fried fish n chips
That is so true about the cheese. I tried their malt vinegar (but didn't add salt) but it was still rough. Someone had mentioned that because the menu just stated, "white fish" and wasn't specific, it could have been the bottom of the barrel fish that they fried up. I'd say the tartar sauce is bad. I love fish and chips but I fear since it may not be popular I wonder how fresh of food I'm really getting 😢

I've been wanting to try that place for years. I'm not a tarter sauce fan so I'd not like theirs either. Wanting to try the wings really.
I thought that their wings were ok, but that was 4 or 5 years ago and it looks like they've really ramped up the number of sauce selections since.
