Love that twice in the Doom series' development there was pushback against a metal soundtrack, only for the metal soundtrack to be wildly praised both times.
In the UK, we have a chain of Arcades named "Arcade Club," the closest one to me held a DOOM tourny a few years back. Romero was a special guest there, and after a history lesson on how DOOM came to be, we had a few matches with him. He pwn3d us all of course, but I got to play DOOM with the actual John Romero. I'll never forget that day.

There was a leaked full build besides the mentioned demo of Doom 3. I remember playing through the whole game on a LAN party months before the regular release. // Doom2016 is just perfection.
I remember the „Doom 3“ release and how hyped everyone was. For the German-speaking audience, however, it was not really a surprise who the bad guy is, as „Dr. Betrüger“ literally means „Dr. Traitor“. Then again, „Doom“ was never one for the subtle tones.
I love the focus on lore in the new games. But I do wish the prayleonthor (spelling?) From doom 3 Made an appearence. I know doom 3 isn't Canon, but there's no rule that says bits and pieces couldn't have been incorporated into the new games for the sake of more expansive lore. I enjoyed the story of doom 3, even if the gameplay suffered greatly.
