Did you have the joystic controller worked best for this. It was black had a red arm on it with red button on side? You could use a genesis controller too
The idea was to hit the water as close as possible to the rocks while the water was at its highest to get the highest points. On the C64 you hit left on the joystick as you hit the water so the diver doesn't get his head stick in the ground and you get a fault.
In addition to being a software developer, Epyx is also its own independent nation… or it was until it was annexed by the People’s Republic of Bethesda
on the commodore 64 it was keep joystick pushed in the direction the bull was was moving (usually right), pull down on joystick when the bull spins clockwise, up anti-clockwise and if it throws you off you quickly push the opposite direction you were heading on the joystick, usually left since the bull headed right.
Chip's Challenge I think was the only decent Epyx game I played on the Amiga, but how hard is it to fuck up Chip's Challenge anyway. Well Barbatian/Death Sword was pretty decent too and maybe their port of Nebulus. But their sports titles were just meh
Some of the countries of origins for the sports don't make any sense. For example, Weightlifting claims the sport originated in Russia... It technically originated in Turkey. By I digress.
@@bielefeldundmehr2461 Barrel jumping actually originates in the Netherlands, and it wasn't really so much a sport as it was developed as a training tool for speed skaters
Not very good technically on ST (scrolling) or Amiga (HORRIBLE instrument samples, C64 has better bag pipes lol). EPYX really weren't very good 16 bit developers in their lifespan.
The game and the music made me feel the same excitement as when I played. Can´t believe it´s been 30 years!
How the time flies when you have fun :)
Loved amiga played hours since I was 3 years old. Played barrell jumping till 3am by 5

this was one of the last games i had on my c64, and i didn't know that there was also an amiga version of this nice game. thx 4 da video.
Thanks for watching!
Barrel jump daar wordt aan de deur geklopt.
I never worked out how the cliff diving works, but my record in barrel jumping was 16.

Absolutely the greatest classic game for the Amiga - and also Commodore 64. I gotta play this again. Thanx, ARetroSyndaxEra! 🐈😺😸👍💾🥇🏆🎯🛹🏅

Bull Riding
Yup
In addition to being a software developer, Epyx is also its own independent nation… or it was until it was annexed by the People’s Republic of Bethesda
That's a good one 😆
Till today I have no idea how to control bull riding

What horrible games Epyx published for the Amiga. Nothing bad against you Dan or anything, this game just reminded me of it. Brrr.
This was ported to the Amiga from a much better C64 version. For some reason the Amiga ports at this time were really shitty, like Wizball.

Miner 79'er
That's because they were mostly shitty Atari ST ports
The log competition plays the lumberjack song. Not sure if it's original to monty python though, or if they used an existing song.
...somebody waited for Cliff Diving to move his cliff jumper to the music before he jumped
Groovy.
Looks much better on c64.
True.

Also we don't have this barrel jumping here in Germany.

It doesn't say it originated in Soviet Union, just that at the time the game was made the USSR dominated weight lighting.
why would you do a longplay of something you can't actually figure out how to play
Beats me.
Daar wordt aan de deur geklopt
Wat?
Helloooo...?
Press the GD button!!!! lol
