I have a Nelson Ball clock by Vitra that has a failed movement. Are all Vitra clocks going to be different in the way the posts fit into the movement, because of their varied designs? For example, the clock you repaired had tall blocky, wooden hour markers, but my ball clock would need a shorter posts for the hands, since the hands float very close to the flat center of the clock face. I've researched getting a replacement movement, and Vitra sells one for $90! Your repair of that clock was probably a little less than that. Any suggestions?
@@Chrisclockrepair Thank you; I’ve since found one from Vitra directly for $57, but still trying to find out if all their clock designs take that same movement. It’s a much beloved piece in my house, so I’d hate to have to replace it, especially since even the reissues by Vitra go for $600-1500 now, never mind an original.
@@Chrisclockrepair Update: I heard from Vitra and they confirmed that all their reproduction Nelson clocks take that same replacement movement that they sell online. I’ve gone ahead and ordered one. Thank you for your responses!
I feel bad that you got fedangled into modifying a QUARTZ movement of all things. That's an OUCH if I ever saw one. Mr. Bartholomew taught you well, though. I'm sure the customer was happy and you were too. Your idea was a success.
Brilliant work
Thanks!

This is the only one I repaired so not sure about your particular style. I would buy the replacement if its available.
