- This video is from my visit to Catalina Island. This was one of the two port stops on my 4-Day cruise aboard the Carnival Radiance. My friends and I rented a golf cart from Catalina Island Golf Cart Rentals & Tours (Website: www.catalinaislandgolfcart.com/). We used the map provided by the golf cart rental place and explored many of the recommended spots. Afterwards, I grabbed a quick bite to eat at El Galleon and then walked around the port area for a little while before heading back to the ship.

Thanks for the kind words! I pride myself on trying to create videos that I would want to watch. I appreciate that others like to take a "cinematic" and/or "day in the life" type of approach. That just doesn't work for me. I prefer watching videos that give me the info I need so I can move on to other things! :D
After watching your video, it looks like it's time to break down and rent a golf cart. We have been to Catalina several times since we always enjoy the 4-night cruise on Carnival. Thanks for taking the time to do your video.
@Norman Scheck - It is a very enjoyable way to tour the island. There are many people that have been telling me to rent an electric bike next time I go. I may give that a try too, but I do love the golf cart for a group!

The golf cart prices are crazy! 110 for 2 hours! I play golf and get a cart and 18 holes for 4 to 5 hours for 60 bucks 😂 tourists prices smh but I love Catalina. Did you get the buffalo milk!
Agreed. The prices are high, but they know they have you (since there are not many other options). I did not get the buffalo milk, but will try it next time I visit
There is no comparison. $110 isn't much to pay for that amount of natural, beauty and view.

Oh, I sent you the link in another comment, but looks like you found the video. :) --- Yes, they do have the ferry option from Long Beach (and a few other places on the coast there) to get to Catalina.
A lot of the islands have these golf cart rentals. I've never rented one and they seem like a great way to see an area.🐸
My buddies and I rented one in Grand Turk. Best thing we ever did! We saw some very cool places that most people don’t get to see

Thank you! We rented it for 2 hours and it was well worth it. We loved being able to explore at our own pace

This looks like alot of fun! I was wondering do you need a license to drive the golf carts around the island? I see there is a age limit but no apparent license requirement.
I don't remember if they asked us for our driver's license. This would be a good question to ask when/if you make your reservation.
Are golf carts the way to go around the city and do the planned activities such as RIDGETOP ECO ADVENTURE TOUR, BISON EXPEDITION and etc?
You could do that I would assume. We just followed the provided map and made a few other stops along the way.

@@tennislvstard.6393 - You're welcome. No, the weather is actually very nice in September. I believe it is because they are out of the summer peak season, so there are less people cruising at that time.

Sorry, I am on a ship right now and would have to watch the video again to get that answer. You will find the pricing at the beginning part of the video when we go to pick up the cart.
so the rental company must have seen your video as they have raised their prices also to 60 an hour. am thinking of using them may 3.
I wonder if the rates fluctuate based on season as well, since they know Spring and Summer are heavy travel seasons

We rented it for 2 hours and used the whole time going around to all the areas on the map they give you.

How can we get to Descanso Club Beach without having to rent a golf cart? to spend more time there? we are first time cruisers and we have a 3 year old baby! Thank you so much for all your videos they very good! Good information less stress for first time cruisers 😊
You're very welcome for the videos. I love making them. Regarding Descanso Beach Club, it's a bit of a walk (especially if you have a 3 year old). When we did the Descanso Beach Club in the past, it was through an excursion that included transportation. The island is very limited in regards to transportation, so not sure what the taxi/Uber situation is like. Let me ask in my Facebook group (facebook.com/groups/carnivallongbeachcruisers) and see if I can get some help

@@loganspuzzle3126 - I found a way to copy the text out of the image. Here is what it said, "Most Avalon residents get around by golf cart, which are available for rent on an hourly or daily basis. There is also the Garibaldi Bus operated by the City of Avalon. The Garibaldi Community fixed route bus serves central Avalon from the ferry landing to Casino Way and up-canyon to the Wrigley Memorial and Botanical Garden. $2 per ride, children under 5 are free. Taxi service is available from the Catalina Island ferry terminal, as well as the taxi stand, located on the corner of Crescent Avenue and Metropole Avenue, to all areas of Avalon"

The whale watching cruise out of catalina island through carnival is there any chance of seeing whales in December?
It’s hard to say for sure, but they are usually migrating from Alaska to Mexico during the cold seasons
