Considering it was box fresh that morning I was shocked also, that green is a really good colour, maybe not when it’s covered in surplus cricket pitch 🏏
Hi there chaps. Blitzer is looking smashing in green. Great run you had. Yes it is inconsiderate of the people who cut the grass not to collect the cuttings. I've had that very same issue where the chassis ends up full of the stuff. At the New Forest there is short grass and no cuttings because the horses eat it. The down side is that they leave piles of recycled grass which seems to be an RC car magnet. Good vid guys 😁
Luckily I’ve got a collection of old toothbrushes I use to clean the cars, I found it easier to let the grass dry for a day or so then it cleaned up pretty well
@@chiefengineer4330 I've got an air duster thing to blast crud off the RC's. Like a little leaf blower and surprisingly powerful. I did a review of it on my channel. Recommended 😁
Nice one guys! The Beetle came out spiffing! A similar colour choice to my Lunchbox, but the paint finish on yours is much better than mine! Looked like more fun on the cricket pitch than cricket actually is! At least you collected some of the grass clippings for the groundsman! 😁
Awesome build & run!!!! I did the same thing to my sons beetle back in 96 I think it was, but I used nylon screen for windows. I did the same thing for the grill on the Midnight Pumpkin, you'll see that soon. Again, brother, AWESOME!!!!!
Thank you for watching and I am glad you enjoyed. I know the Cheif Engineer has yards of that mesh, I’m trying to convince him to sell 30cm squares of it on eBay as RC window mesh 😆😂👍
@@RCsoandso yes it is and I think I ever I wanted ever since I was 12 13 years old because I think that was the first time I ever saw and now I have one it's my favorite of the SRB chassis not that I would not want the other ones.
This is a great looking car! Love the paint work on this one chaps. I have one on my list but not got round to it yet. Your video has pushed it closer to the top of the list! That motor seemed to go really well on the grass 👍🏻🙌🏻👏🏻
I love the Blitzer doing it in the green with the white wheels was different, I hadn’t seen one like that. My next job is to get some road tyres for it
I'm with you. Kit building is half the fun of the r/c hobby. RTR is more for the instant gratification modern society prefers (partially why people suck, in my opinion). Looks great BTW
I think RTR means it is not used as much as you have not put any time in it, and will end up dusty on a shelf. Building adds to the enjoyment and develop skills. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 👍
I have monster beetle and the blitzer beetle to build mate! Question is i have a torque tuned motor and a sports tuned motor also whats best motor for each one? Many thanks
It’s a fantastic rc mate. I found the cap over the motor wasn’t tight with gaps due to it being a rubbery plastic so out with the gaffer tape . Might put a few holes in the bath tub as mine filled with sand . 👍
Thank you 😊 I noticed that with the cap so I put two small steel washers on the bolts before putting the cap on it seemed to do the trick and it sealed all the way round, the cap isn’t as robust as it should be
4WD would be ace, I have the Rally Beetle on the MF01x Chassis and this is a 4WD chassis. In honesty there is only a few differences between the Blitzer Shell, Sand Scorcher Shell and the Monster Beetle Shell, its mainly how they fit to the chassis that makes them different 🤔👍
@@markrenton5791 I know the Rally Beetle is 239mm which is a hard size to get additional shells for, I have gone for Escort MK2 shells, but they are not ideal, as wheel arches dont match completly
The rear suspension arms have 2 points where I could attach the shocks. If I increase the ride height on the rear there is some plastic I would have to chop off the chassis. Because if I try and move the shock onto the other hole on the arm the chassis is in the way. Currently it's higher at the front. I could lower the front to make it an ever ride height but I don't think it would be that good to drive if it were that low. Does the height of the ride on the blitzer beetle make much difference to speed. I have a sport tuned motor with the pinion the car came with. It doesn't seem that fast. I am guessing the standard for the blitzer is 16t?? What difference would it make with a 22t pinion. Ty
Yes I see exactly what you are saying. I do feel with the Sand Scorcher you have to be a little less gung-ho but a Blitzer will take all you can throw at it 👍
@@RCsoandso you can imagine how I felt when I tried to jump my newly built SS for the first time (no previous RC experience) only roll it, shed one wing mirror, broke a front upper arm and the stinger pipe. I still remember thinking, as I pushed the throttle forward 'this isn't a good idea'.

No one likes recycled grass after it’s been through an animal, especially when it’s all in the gears and cogs ⚙️🧽🧼

Does blitzed beetle come with torque tuned motor? Also what ESC did it come with? Many thanks
Yes the Torque tuned is included. Some kits do have an ESC, if not the Tamiya TBLE4 should work well or a Hobbywing 1060 👍
Bet it was a pain removing all that wet grass in all nooks and crannies 👊🏻👍🏻
Luckily that’s the Cheif Engineers job 😂

I would put the Sports in the Blitzer and the Torque in the Monster, as it’s heavier it will appreciate the extra grunt from the Torque power 👍

What wheels are they from
These are the actual Blitzer wheels you get in the kit 👍
These wheels were from eBay actually 👍 the tires are the ones from the kit
I have a GT tuned in my hornet.
It’s a good motor ☝️
I like the GT tuned I might use it again in a build
Great build love that green paint job looks great 👍
The finish is tip top on it I have to say, it really pops 👍
I ordered a Blitzer Beetle a few days ago and I can't wait for it to arrive.
You will have a blast with it, just have to worry about the design now 🤔👍
Where did you get the mesh for the rear window and how did you attach it?🙂
I think it was just an off cut from a garden centre, just a fine mesh. It was then just hot glued from the inside, worked really well 👍
Nice body shell colour can remember what it is
I think it’s Tamiya TS 52 Candy Green. It’s held up well actually, and still looks good 👍
What cricket ground is that may i ask?
Tatton Park I believe 👍
i love the Blitzer Beetle but i wish it was 4wd do the body fit on another chassie from Tamiya?

How comes wheels are white
Wheels are difficult, the question is to use dye and risk warping them or spray them and risk chipping. Normally I’m more team spray paint 😂👍

Great looking Blitzer Beetle.
It’s a fantastic model, one of the more reliable ones I’d have to say 🤔👍
Looks like you put a lift on it.
You will have to ask the Cheif Engineer about that
It’s all standard
It is si high on the rear because rear shocks are not mounted the right way.
It should be fixed on the lower arm and not on the wheels hub.
