Great video , thankyou for taking your time explaining .If you can , please can you try and cover all the names and patterns . I'm totally new at this and you are the only person I've found so far that explains verbally . I think I've mastered a name and pattern etc then I get it wrong ha,ha .
Regarding color “underneath the skin”, especially on younger koi around 12cm or less, how do you know if the color is going to get darker or if the color was once dark and is now fading and will turn white? I am asking for the purposes of judging potential when purchasing younger koi.
Hi there, there are indications for Sumi (black) that will develop itself over time. Typical place to have a look at are the gill plates, start of the tails and the core of the pectoral fins. Maybe it is nice to watch this video, it linked it with the timestamp: ruclips.net/video/KuV_PIcEAfg/видео.html I use some Shiro utsuri from Omosako to explain 'underdeveloped sumi'
I can believe you might see some showa aspects in that one. It is surely a Sanke though. If you look at the pectoral fins, you can see the black lines visible (tejime), you can also spot this in the tail. This is a typical characteristic for Sanke. Also the black markings look like Sanke markings, as these are compact/clustered together. Hope this helps a bit to determine the difference 👍. Thanks for your comment!

Another very enjoyable video, keep it up. Stay safe and well
Glad to hear, Steven! Any variety you would like to know more about?
@@Aboutkoi my next fish will either be a Showa or a Gin Matsuba. So it would be good to see a video on those. Thank you
@@stevenlane2641, Showa is one of the varieties that I will create a video about later on. Gin Matsuba is also very nice!

I'm not mad, it's common to say it in this way here... I'll pay attention to it in new clips 😉
