Nah, you have imagination! It’s really just exposure and experience. No one musician created all great music. One person over here, one person over there made contributions to the overall sound. Your job as a musician is to go out and experience great music and gather information! Then, do your best to make a contribution to the overall sound of music.

As much as I love Ableton’s workflow, Reason sounds??? A1!!!! I need to use it more often.
Reason was the first program that worked for the musician rather than just producer. As a for hire session player 20yrs ago, it was the ONLY program I looked forward to using. That being said, Abelton though, MAN.....I've never used anything with stage and studio perfect blend. I think a rack with Abelton, Reason and Protools would DOMINATE (Abelton stems, Reason sounds/functions and Protools editing). Overkill but can I dream LOL.

What mix recording is this if it’s not IEM? Disclaimer: sorry I’m still learning about this
@@lavontemccarty2069 This mix is most likely the main house mix (the mix people hear in person in the same building) or a broadcast mix (mix for online viewers). As we can't hear the talkback mic it's most likely the main/broadcast mix.
IEM mix or In Ear Monitor mix, is the mix that musicians and sometimes vocalist have. This is most likely tailored to the individual listening as it is a personal mix . IEMs replace floor wedges (speakers)/monitors .

So are the Square Lead synth and the organ on a track or are those being played live by someone else in the background? The HH backing loop i'd guess is just for timing but doesn't actually have other instruments on it, right? I can't see anywhere that he's pressing any buttons to jump between Chorus and Verse and i don't think that it's a fixed track of a set length. I could be wrong. I love love love the arrangement and already made a similar track last night in Garageband after hearing this one. The chord progressions are so smooth and fresh... Thanks LaDerrick... Be Blessed!

@@Dabbler_Dabble They definitely practiced, but what he has is a talk back mic... It's set up in a way that only the band (and sometimes vocalists) can hear.. So he uses it to give directions in the song, like what point to go to the chorus, where to add a riff, like the little b6 note in the verse, when to build up the song etc

As far as I know, LaDerrick uses the pianos on the Korg Kronos. Thr reason for Reason is the background tracks.
