Exploring Coiba Island: The REAL Prison Island (Documentary)

Welcome back!
In this video, we explore Panamá's version of 'Devil's Island'. After completing the Panamá canal, we explored Panamá city before sailing 180 miles to Coiba Island. Coiba Island is a national park with a horrible history. From 1919 to 2004, the penal colony on Coiba Island was dictated by Manuel Noriega.
Built on Coiba Island is one of the worst prisons in the world. We got the opportunity to tour the prison with two guards and learnt all about it's horrific history.

It seems the site guards were wonderfully informative. Such a grim place, with so much beauty in the surrounding forests and seas. A sad chapter of history, but interesting.
