Reginald Marshall Get the new Tribe album. Busta is all up on the joint with the crew. When he vibes with Q-Tip and them, he's like a duck in water, he's in his natural element, and it makes an already great album even better. #RIPPHIFEDAWG
Maaaannnn, I’m with this cat. I ain’t riding with a bunch of dudes when some trim is available. I could understand if he told them he was coming to get them, but he didn’t. LOL
I heard it about it back in the day. I grew up in this era of hip hop and Busta and Charlie Brown were at each other's throat. Dinc D and Milo were watching on the sidelines. But really Charlie might have been a little envious Busta because Busta's style and his voice stood out in the group and people started paying attention to Busta.
When I saw the crowd reaction to Busta's "Scenario" verse on Arsenio Hall (remember when he flipped that Dr Suess hat he was rocking?), I knew it was over for LONS. Busta was a star and for some reason Brown was always in the middle or up front like he was the standout. Please.
I'll never forget that moment. Being from Uniondale, it went from these guys rap from our town to 'Oh shit, Busta just destroyed the Arsenio Hall Show'. They were done a few months after that on Yo MTV Raps when Brown said he wasn't feeling the group doing promo for their next album. Poor life choices.
Charlie brown was way nicer then busta and yes I personally held a show at club rendezvous in brooklyn not to mention they use to come to the house and eat my moms cooking. Not sure about the car situation he is talking about but sounds like he talking about a song they had out called sob story.Busta is a great entertainer though.
Tribe sure are chilled out dudes (my fuckin favourite rap crew of all time!!!), even though they had their own issues as time went by! So happy about the Tribe album before Phife Dawg passed away, it is something that made me so grateful as a tribe-fan, something I was hoping for but never thought would become reality after watching the 2011 Tribe-documentary!! And the result turned out better than even a tribe-fan could ever imagine! Also having the Abstract An The Dragon LP, so great!! Saw Phife solo in concert 5 years ago on the day of my 22nd birthday, RIP PHIFE, so much love to Busta & Tip (one of the illest producers of all time, PERIOD!!!) makin it still happen and having contributed so much to Hip Hop culture and broke into new dimensions soundwise!! They shaped the sound we hear today profoundly, a lot of people underappreciate that fact heavily!!!
KConthebeat that’s true. Look into the story of The Eagles. Glenn Frey’s head got too big after ‘Hotel California’ and a legendary group was destroyed by it.
Sad cuz T.I.M.E. is a testimony to true Hip Hop creativity. If ONLY record labels didnt pull apart groups...our music catalogs would be JUST that much greater. damn.
Leaders of the New School messed their own (C. Brown & Dinko) careers up . It is relevant today because Busta has been on his own and has prospered big time.
I love all of them but bus was the spark of the group in my favorite cause he just straight Ill high pack energy in his heart that showed the rest which made the best i luv my nicca since he first seen his in the case of the PTA when I was younger
Thats because he stayed focus..I'am involved in the music buisness..and never achievd the the commercial success Busta did..and its still a fight to maintain..So I only could imagine what he went throught to maintain. He did it. I have the most utter respect for homeboy from around the way. So I wish we all just are supportive.Groups are hard to be a part of anyway.
LONS could have been a hip hop movement as big as The Wu Tang Clan, Public Enemy, X-Clan, and so forth! Egos, fame, and money never have been able to occupy the same space.
A lot of cats from down south heard Busta Rhymes on l o n s and immediately knew he was the pick of the litter. Proof of all of this was his first solo joint and albums after. L o n s was a good group for its time it lasted but that cat Busta Rhyme came through and out blasted .
I was a bouncer in a NJ bar when the "Woo Ha..." video came out. There was no sound (they were blasting other music, the tv was just decoration, so to speak), & I had never heard of Busta Rhymes (fresh out the USMC, stationed in Saudi during Desert Storm most of the time, pre-internet). I just stood there TRANSFIXED like, "WHO TF is this guy?!" My friend owned a record store, & I went there the next day & asked him to play the song, I thought I saw the video for, & I WAS HOOKED! His 1st solo album, is the best 1st album by a hip hop artist EVER, in my opinion. Banging from start to finish, with NO fat on it!
Yessssssss i love you with Tribe and i love your music period. I have a VHS with most of you're hits and songs and videos. The Steven Tyler of Rapp. In Short one of the best! From the start. And i grew up on 121st and New York Blvd. Near The Rochdale Condos turned Projects and a Movie Theater.. .....I thought you did awesome in Shaft, You helped carry that movie, I didn't like the Netflix movie with the Baby out the window. But you did many good movies. I'd love to see you in more
Never knew this... Im sure C Brown and Dinco got there version of things aswell..... Real shame though, one of the best groups of the 90s golden era...
Yo that’s crazy to think they broke up before they even put the first album out. I remember as a kid just thinking they was best friends who could all rap so they made a group.
Leaders made some legendary Hip-Hop. Still ... It's unfortunate what music does to friendships. A lot of similar things happened to me. Maybe if I get my mojo back, I might end up like busta.
actually it was around 91 or 92..when the last L.O.N.S album was being made,a friend of mine did the album cover and he told me"yeah they have a studio around china town" somewhere. not too far from laffeyet st.
Funny, Dante Ross just said this on a podcast I listened to about a year ago. Not about the reasons, but the fact that they broke up until he offered a deal...
@paulspagetti May be but he's right. I had both Leaders albums and I liked the other members, but I kept my ear opened for his part. He brought it 2000 percent better.
They all complimented eachother on joints like PTA , But Busta with the WILD growling Dugeon Dragon shit was revolutionising EMCEEING at the time "FACT" Theres was nothing like him before or after "FACT" theres no way C Brown could have made as much hits as Busta HAS , IF YOU COULDN'T RECOGNISE BUSTA'S STAR POTENTIAL BACK THEN YOUR JUST PROVING THAT YOU DON'T KNOW THE DEFINITION OF A SICK EMCEE . 20 years later dude is still relevant tells a story in it self
Busta always keeps it 100 mane...like in every interview i see,i didn t know that about my mans though. At the very first though browns was my nigga...
@Richdavt if you listen to When Disaster Strikes... you might know where I'm coming from, and as you said his first album The Coming was great too. I've listened to When Disaster Strikes (his 2nd album) like more than 17 times and I didn't skip any of the tracks they were pretty good. Also When Disaster Strikes is in the Top 100 hip hop/rap albums of all time.
You know Bus was always Head Honcho of ' leaders of a new school '. Without even watching this interview, i always knew that Bus had a stronger chemistry with Tribe than LONS. Whether it be ' modern day, hench Bus ' or ' back in the day, slim Bus ', Charlie Brown was always gonna get banged up by Mr Rhymes!
I like this channel now, though I do think it kinda promotes beef, it does have very good updates and info on stuff which you aint ought ta know n e where else.
Busta is Busta, don't like him, click next. He is a fucking legend, if DMX talks arrogant, he proved the reason why. If Jay does, same deal. What makes Busta different, he was one of the most original dudes of his time, creating that whole comical style with Redman that we know now in thousands of rappers
Much respect to Busta for speaking on his discrepancies with LONS and after all of the bad-blood with Charlie Brown, he refused to bad-mouth Brown.
lmao "found me a shorty who appreciated the kid quite thoroughly" 😂
💯🤣
Well spoken 🤣🤣🤣
Inna real way
😄👏
Im gonna use that
Imagine Bus-A-Bus in the Tribe? That would have been dope as fuq!!!
Man. That would of been the first album that I would of convinced my Mom and Dad to buy for me.
So that's why they broke up---geesh. Interesitng story, though.
Reginald Marshall Get the new Tribe album. Busta is all up on the joint with the crew. When he vibes with Q-Tip and them, he's like a duck in water, he's in his natural element, and it makes an already great album even better. #RIPPHIFEDAWG
He & Consequence pretty much were.
@Domo Jones well that's your opinion and I respect it.
Maaaannnn, I’m with this cat. I ain’t riding with a bunch of dudes when some trim is available. I could understand if he told them he was coming to get them, but he didn’t. LOL
Finally we get to hear the real story behind the breakup of Leaders of the new school, didn't imagine that!!!
Busta Rhymes is a legend 8 classic albums
I heard it about it back in the day. I grew up in this era of hip hop and Busta and Charlie Brown were at each other's throat. Dinc D and Milo were watching on the sidelines. But really Charlie might have been a little envious Busta because Busta's style and his voice stood out in the group and people started paying attention to Busta.
damn it sucks they fought. they made some great music together
When I saw the crowd reaction to Busta's "Scenario" verse on Arsenio Hall (remember when he flipped that Dr Suess hat he was rocking?), I knew it was over for LONS. Busta was a star and for some reason Brown was always in the middle or up front like he was the standout. Please.
Brown WANTED to be, but he wasn't.
The only thing standing out was browns jacked up teeth..

So brown was the Otis Williams of the group
Tribe sure are chilled out dudes (my fuckin favourite rap crew of all time!!!), even though they had their own issues as time went by! Every group is like that
KConthebeat that’s true. Look into the story of The Eagles. Glenn Frey’s head got too big after ‘Hotel California’ and a legendary group was destroyed by it.
Nah, this is least vs best...Busta was a pure star.
@@MaurandisDaRadusFilms
Charlie held his own though...
always thought, his flow & style, want nice with Busta's style.
@@invisiblerevolution Charlie was nice fasho, I was just saying that Busta had that star quality...and 30 years later it shows.
haha, no car, sobb story, I get it now
Sad cuz T.I.M.E. is a testimony to true Hip Hop creativity. If ONLY record labels didnt pull apart groups...our music catalogs would be JUST that much greater. damn.
Man remember them Greek fest days at Jones beach,Shout out to Nassau County Long Island
Man. First Lucy takes the football away from him while he's trying to kick it, then he gets beat up by Busta Rhymes.
'aint that some shit.
And after all that, Busta was still nice enough to put Dinco and Charlie on his first solo album. So fuck em....
Busta iz legendary
Leaders of the New School messed their own (C. Brown & Dinko) careers up . It is relevant today because Busta has been on his own and has prospered big time.
Charlie Brown was my fav rapper on the Leaders first album
+HeatRayz Video (Heat Rayz) Brown was the best, I can't believe he never did a solo project.
+HIareUmad Neither could Charlie which is probably what started the fights lol
+HIareUmad charlie was basic but it's a matter of opinion
HE WAS TRASH AND A CLOWN
LARCE DAGRATE whys that
and just when i thought i knew so much about hip hop, wow. i never knew it was physical fights within the group
I Always Thought He Should've Been With A Tribe Called Quest, He Had A Lot Of Camos Plus They Had Better Chemistry !
he's to rugged for that group
+75lexluther really? Charlie brown and dinco d were pussies , even worse
+75lexluther true

Busta my man 2019.
I miss when Vlad wasn't constantly talking in interviews. 😂
some of the truest words ever spoken
LONS could have been a hip hop movement as big as The Wu Tang Clan, Public Enemy, X-Clan, and so forth! Egos, fame, and money never have been able to occupy the same space.
A lot of cats from down south heard Busta Rhymes on l o n s and immediately knew he was the pick of the litter.

Lowkey thought they were talking about a deleted scene from A Charlie Brown Christmas Special
I've always knew about The Tension between Busta and Charlie Brown. But I didn't know to this extent though Damn!
Good stuff. I like hearing about the inside history of groups from the artists themselves.
Yessssssss i love you with Tribe and i love your music period. I have a VHS with most of you're hits and songs and videos. The Steven Tyler of Rapp. In Short one of the best! From the start. busta rhymes is a legend in the rap game
Busta is da 🐐🐐🐐🐐
bust was the leader of the new skool... mid 90's was all him but early 2000's recreated him for mainstream smoke a blunt to that
I love hearing him talk! Oh hellz, I just freakin love him ❤️❤️
Where they all at now🤣❤️I love his demeanor
It's not all about lyrics. With Busta, it's not so much the stuff he says as the way he says it.
i totally agree fam ! besides busta's a beast !
"Scenario!" (drops the mic...... )
Never knew this... Im sure C Brown and Dinco got there version of things aswell..... Real shame though, one of the best groups of the 90s golden era...
That’s why hip hop doesn’t have music like that no more
"I know you and you know me"__Sobb Story

He got kicked out of preschool for not playing!
I wonder if Snoopy jumped in..
comedy.
BAHAHAHAHA
why is there music playing during the interview?
Thanks Vlad for finally removing that corny music on your interviews.
Years later?? Thank GOD.
I knew Busta was the truth since the first time i heard "PTA" back in the gap!
i could feel the love in this video. it should have been him & tribe all the way.
busta rhyme was the best outta of lons

Aww the things backstage!
Crazy situation back then

Busta was the group....brown was the clown of the group. L.o.n.s was Busta...period!!! Busta had the best solo career out of all of em.
mistaiikonz s.butler What happen to your career??
TR808 why you mad at the truth
If I had to put it like that. .I WOULD. all I cared about was Busta's verses. C.Brown is why they made the FasForward button
The group was sick lol, Busta may have been the best of em but he wasn't the whole group and I never fucked with his solo shit as much as I did LONS
I heard about Jerome’s niece. She got shot in the dome piece. She was on her way home from Jones Beach.
your right
1:13 So is that where "Sobb Story" originated?
SAME HERE
I like this channel now, though I do think it kinda promotes beef, it does have very good updates and info on stuff which you aint ought ta know n e where else.
I always seen busta as the best in LONS. Notice the crumbled the min he left..😂😂😂
Whats that track playing in the background?
Busta is Busta, don't like him, click next. He is a fucking legend, if DMX talks arrogant, he proved the reason why. If Jay does, same deal.
