- www.vladtv.com/ - Legendary emcee Busta Rhymes speaks on a rough time in his life when his group, Leaders of the New School, was breaking up around the same time of his first son's death. Busta reveals that they finally "let the dumb stuff go," and moved on from their differences, but doesn't know if they'll ever record together again.

Busta's delivery is masterful. He's one of my favorite M.C.s
He is one of my favs too. Def confused why he hasnt landed on verzuz yet 🤔😔
I don't know why Busta never comes up in a top 5 conversation 😔. Every album is fire, the bars be serious and, his delivery and creativity are second to none. His videos are still some of my favorites of all time
@Brian Richardson well said B👍🏽😊
He turned out to be a very good solo artist busta rhymes is one of the best lyricists in the game
Jeremo Brown who tf cares
I heard busta was a man worthy if his word; I tried to dance with qua at the damn party; he look like you.
@Jeremo Brown Fuck outta here. They both in they own lane. Buss is a true original and a top 5 emcee ever. Undeniable energy, a flow can't nobody duplicate, and longevity that few can claim. Buss is right there with Em. Please dont disrespect the Gawd.
Agreed
Say 1 Busta Rhymes punchline. Or 2 if you can.
That emotion in his voice at 3:48...
I never heard about him losing a son. So sorry 💔 for your loss Busta.🙏🏽🙏🏽
I don’t blame him for it
He also lost a bodyguard.
@@guillermoalto4803a bodyguard?? He’s listening to a lot more than that.
Once Busta dropped that verse on Scenario, he became one of the rappers in the center of attention and a fan favorite in Hip Hop. In the streets, you could feel the momentum of his career and stardom revving up. The Scenerio remix was highly anticipated because of Busta's outbreak on the original song. Although It is a Tribe Called Quest song featuring The Leaders of the New School, Tribe accepted the background role and allowed Busta to enjoy his coming out party. Charlie Brown couldn't accept Busta's fame. He should have absorbed Busta's energy, and channeled it into creating extraordinary music. Instead, he consumed himself in jealousy, sunk into depression, and therefore throw away a promising extended music career. All because of Busta's fame, such a shame.
That's about as well put as you could make it bro. Props!! And yes, it should have made CBrown more competitive/hungry. But instead, the rivalry spilled over and we only got 2 solid LONS albums. But....Bussa Buss solo has made up for that. Still would have loved to see the direction of a 3rd Leaders joint..because TIME and a Future Without a Past -- are totally different ! 3rd probably would have been more street w/typical LONS knowledge. Plus You had Wu killing everything by then. Gritty hip hop was in demand(Black Moon, MOP, Organized Konfusion etc)..
Lol i read this somewhere..
CB had the shit flow, dude couldn't flow to save his l;ife

Excellent explanation
RIP to your son busta.
How did he die?
@@Peartree25 during child birth
Wowww didn't know that
@Asif Glasgow seriously, stop looking for illuminati conspiracy theories in EVERYTHING. The paranoia will destroy you.
I like when he mentioned riding by Brown's place and feeling apprehensive about poppin' up. Just goes to show he's human...
yo why people saying Busta a sell-out...look at the beginnings. Busta always was the centre of attention, but he always let others spit their verse and be themselves. They were teenagers, now they are adults. People make mistakes and grow up eventually. Every GROUP goes through the same issues. As an MC I like Charlie's flow and rhymes, but nobody can speak to why he didn't make it and Busta did. I don't blame that Busta eventually choose to focus on the money, at least he is man enough to provide for his family and children, not like the other chicken head fathers who run off asap.
I speak from experience. Do you want your child to grow up without a father, without him contributing. Yo respect for Busta, because my "biological" father never NEVER paid me or my mom a DIME. I owe everything to my mom. I would do the same if I were Busta. PROVIDE, PUT FOOD ON THE TABLE. Glad that Busta and Charlie squashed their issues. Life is too precious for hatred.
BIG FACTS
He ain't no sellout
Busta had me cracking up!!! 😆
"I knew how to just put my 16 bars down.. And SLIDE." 😆
"NOW, I gotta come up with THREE 16s?? AND a hook??" 😆😆😆
Then he said "Nigga, you just want my 'Raaa! Raaa'?? Nigga, you don't respect my BARS??'" 😆😆
Ha ha ha---that part he said, was funny, as well as the rest of it.
3 16s huh ya can't wait till there 18
lol every verse I ever laid down was the same mentality...drop 16 and get on with yo day lol
UncleAir 💯
WAIT A MINUTE!!! Busta wasn't planning to be a Solo Artist?! Thank God he answered that phone call! I can't remember the 90's without BustaRhymes! My Daughter knows who he is 'cause I made sure she knew who these 90's LEGENDS were/are! LEGENDS!!!
Huh.....
soooooooo you had no idea who Busta was, when he was a part of L.O.N.S. ?
"Raah, raah, like a dungeon dragon"!

Oh my god oh-my-God
The new kids think Nicki Manaj said that first.

Amen, I thought I was the only one who felt that way about that track. That right there, Made me give Bust a Bust the green light/ Top track Produced by Easy Mo Bee! I think people still over look that joint...
Agreed. The track, the video, everything about it is 🔥🔥

KooL D I’m a upcoming wrestler, I use THAT as my theme song
I love the way Busta talks.
I did not know he lost his son , damn sorry
His Story should be a movie
busta was hungrier. period. go get yo money!
BIG FACTS
Exactly Charlie was a fuckin joke and mad immature
I am deeply sorry for the loss of HIS firstborn son.
I am happy HE an HIS Woman were able to have a family, after an extreme loss like that. I couldn’t even imagine.
I JUST LOVE BUSTA AN I CANT EVEN BEGIN TO DESCRIBE HOW MUCH I LOVE HIM.....
I love this brotha right here. Bussa Bust is THE BEST!!!
Willie D. Washington AQQQ
Hell yeah he's the truth
6:36... "N***** just want the Rah-Rah. N***** don't respect my bars"? 😅😂😂
I hollered. ,🤣🤣🤣
I swear Buster is my long lost brother. He is so raw with his. He did what he had to do to take care of his family.
Justifying screwing over your friends lol what a moron you are. When Will smith was offered a TV deal he MADE SURE jazzy jeff got one to he did NOT say alright jazzy you know all the same people you are on your own. That mentality is what disloyal selfish people use to not feel like pieces of crap
@@alexandervalaris72 you keep posting this. Why?
Man much respect to Busta. Dude is real!
Charlie Brown was jealous of Busta.
CAN U BLAME HIM?!!!
Monique Ivy yes I can
I understand as brown created lons so he thought of himself as the head guy in charge but doesn't always work that way. Hopefully brown is humble now
Ghost Rider For real He was a player hater
CB was better than Busta
Seems we all have lived this! A friendship gone astray for a while and you think about reconciling but just don't know the way to approach it,,,Feelin Bust..
LIFE IS TOO SHORT LOSE THE ATTITUDES AND MAKE MUSIC
Busta rhymes is a extraterrestrial from another planet ....
affirmative.
I believe he was...
Being from another planet sure would make him an Extraterrestrial.
I can seriously listen to Busta Talk all day...Knowledge and truth flows out of him
As a high school student listening to LOTNS, Busta was always the one i remembered. I was not surprised when he went on his own and became successful. Some people just have enough presence, charisma and talent they cant be confined to a group: Michael Jackson, Bobby Brown, Teddy Pendergrass, Lionel Ritchie, Method Man, Kool Moe Dee etc.
i always thought charlie was in fine...he had crooked teeth tho
A living legend and all around awesome human being !Kudos to Mr.Rymes !!
Busta rhymes is a legend and his flow is above average.
Great comment.
Above average?...it’s amazing
Bus always been 1 of my favorite MCs.
Busta's probably the biggest artist ever to appear on Vlad TV.
Not even close... Daylite is

Kane made me do my "RAH RAH" LOL!
people was always waiting for busta rymes verses in early LONS stuff and also Tribe, thats the main reason he had so many opportunities after the break up. hes very humble cause he could of said everyone was looking for him during that time but not the others.it wasnt just his lyrics it was also his style and personality on stage.
Even when he's not rapping I can feel the **pop** when he says his B's
Chris _ I thought I was da only one dat noticed dat since way back when
That's cause his mouth is full of lyrics lmao!!! Who hasn't known that? I know I did, sometimes I can feel when he does that? I can feel this nigga rhyme in my ear straight heat coming.. Weird feeling tho lol
the kid got that jamaican blood in him.
That Jamaican drive is strong. You can drop a Jamaican anywhere in the world and he is going to get his.
@@luvbig41 NOT true white man still runs Jamaica 😂
@@randybudbud8358 Are you stupid I've lived there almost all my life they don't run shit. Don't speak about what you don't know
Yeah, except he's not a kid. We MUST start respecting each other as men when we are grown-azz men. His BIBLICAL nationality, which is the ONLY thing that is of the TRUTH, is Benjamin. The Tribe of Benjamin from the House of Israel. Ya betta ask somebody, ach. Shalawam, Israel and APTTMH!!!!!
@@TiteTrax why you had to jump on that how di i disrespect him because i said kid dont know what your driving at but lets leave it at that .

BUSTA IS THE BEST!!!!
Yo Vlad.. That has to be the best and most historical interview you have ever done. I didnt even know it was that deep with them.. Thanks for posting!!
yall pipe down! BUSTA A OG IN THIS THING CALLED HIP HOP. YA FAVORITE RAPPERS KNOW HIM VERY WELL AND RESPECT HIM. So some respect to him and his story man.
busta will always look good to me
VLAD you hit it on the head bro. This is a great interview, give us more please.
One day the music world is going to have to take time out and reflect on how great Busta is as emcee , a game changer , longevity and originality
Now that's a real dad, gentalman, I miss, loves that. God bless his heart.
Charlie Brown was the stand out member of LOTNS till Busta Rhymes “Raaauu Raaauu” like a dungeon dragon. It was a done deal every since.
Yeah, you listen to that first album, Brown is really the true "leader" of the group, but like Bussa Buss said, he had that drive to go harder. Bruh got too hard in his feelings.
back in the days (1991) me and my crew always knew Busta would make an excellent solo artist.
I like when a rap artist can express himself introspectively. There aren't too many "hard" rap artists who will admit that they were part of the problem. This guy actually admits he just grew up... I can respect that.
He's a great story teller!
'Put that Ra Ra on that shit'! LOL!!!!!!!
Busta rhymes and 50 cent gives the best interviews. They don't try to be cool they just answer the questions and can still be funny. Also I respect them for speaking well. It seems like every nigga who does interviews want to act like they don't want to be there.
Damn…… I didn’t even want this interview to end, this was absolute gold, right here
i shit i forgot about Busta Rhymes was in a group before going solo.
i thought this was going to be about Violater or Flip modesquad
Bust reminds me of The Rapping Black Vin Diesel!! Love it!
Busta needs his own biopic.
this has to be one of the best busta interviews i've watched only bc of the behind the scenes truth of why his album didnt come out for so long. i was young enough to where i wouldnt have known this.
That Rrrrr-Rahh(Dungeon-Dragon) was the signature approval then + the 💰.😂😂 😂💯
I went to the same High School as these dudes .different years though..I knew Brown when he was curious kid about what I was doing in the dance scene..I never knew that he was interested being an MC..but his Brother was a popular local DJ in our area on Long Island...so it was almost inevitable...my thing about that was Brown probably felt overlooked..and felt Busta's potential was Greater that what he imagined..and could'nt take the reality of there is a compelling figure in the group.
Busta rhymes one of the hardest workers in the game and one of the greatest rappers to ever touch the mic🤙🏾
Busta really came into his own. I think he had the potential all along but was too much in a comfort zone with his limited bars. As he started to get into acting and having to use alot more dialogue on a main stream circuit this built his confidence. Along with being forced to do a solo career he finally came into his own. I followed them since they came out with International Zone Coaster when I was in High School. It's good to see Busta evolve!👍💪✊💖
Busta is a hilarious story teller. I never knew, 😆
Never thought of it that way, brother made a living off of the "Rauw! Rauw! Dungeon Dragon!!"
nice interview i can relate to him,its all about growin up...which is double edged...one its shit gettin old but on the flip, you get wiser, you see things in a bigger and better light etc
so cool to see legends like busta speak on the things they did that are now classics. to see how arbitrarily these records came about as a result of happenstance is crazy. this channel is pretty cool
Those dudes just wasn’t talented enuff. Brown was wack as hell. Dink had skills though. He just needed the right people around him to create some dope music around his skill set.
That Raahr Raahr was and still is the shit...I was a little kid when I first heard it..instantly became a Busta fan..he's actually in my top 5 greatest of all time..his first album the coming is still one of my favorite albums since a kid..that shit classic like enter the 36 chambers.
6:24 when he broke down the Raahr Raahr tho 😂😂😂😂😂😂
i dont think ive enjoyed a busta interview like this one before!....i didnt want it to end!,....thank u Vlad!
the dongen dragon will never die...senario one of my top 3 songs in the 90s..8th grade was a fkn blast..
Leader of the New were a very fun hip hop group. Silly lyrics and stuff.
All 3 were dope mc's but Busta had "IT"
Wow.....this is the first time I have listen to this man talk in years. He finally grew up.
Busta amazed us immediately. I would need time to properly articulate how we loved what he gave. WOW
Yo Busta, got nuttin but love bro. Yall (LONS) need to cut an album.
busta is the realest dude in the industry, he never compromised his talent snd you can still fit him into musically because he has that hip hop presence, both stage and booth out of that era there are only 2 mcs from ny still relevant, Nas/Busta then of course Jay who came out later in the 90's..Its funny why jay dont wanna do songs with him, commercial or non commercial since the "why we ride" song..pride runs deep..
Day Bay Jay was out in 89 dude do your homework
+Day Bay Jay-Z can't ffff with busta. Nor anyone else for that matter.
Very informative, that Buss. He always does a great interview.
ABOUT TIME A GOOD INTERVIEW VLAD... BUSA BUST KEEP BANGING THOSE JOINTS OUT...
Busta funny as hell!!! Rah Rah!!
Busta is that nigga he was the Micheal Jackson of leaders of the new school anyways
THE BIG BANG is still to this day ONE OF the best rap albums out
He lost his son thats the most difficult situation for a father to pull himself out of. That must be a big ass dungeon for an even bigger dragon.
Rembrandt-! A story
A man transformed into a painting to reflect the things gone wrong in life; fixed, made better!
And where is brown now?? I know where Busta is though😂😂. I knew from scenario that Busta was gonna blow up. I knew from Hot Boys that Weezy was gonna take off...lol...every group has that one that was destined to go solo.

Good to see Bus-a-Bus still doing his thing. And I would love to see at least an L.O.N.S. one night only concert for the sake of us fans who grew up listening to "Case of the P.T.A.", "Sobb Story", and "What's Next", speaking as a Leaders fan since 1991. Big up to Leaders of the New School.
