Nice playing! That looks like a Rickard banjo. I play one on my channel. It looks like you have Nylguts on there. How did they fit the nut? Were any alterations needed? Cheers.
Hey, thanks! That's a pretty good compliment about the banjo, Rickard makes really nice banjos. It was the first one I ever made and I didn't know much about banjos so I modeled it after the Rickard Dobson model. And it's got the Rickard hardware. I make my own, so changing the nut was not a big deal. I definitely had to widen the nut slots and I made a new bridge. If you have a caliper you can use it to measure the strings, and buy a 5-10 dollar tip cleaner set at a hardware store. They have lots of gauges in them and the caliper can help you figure out exactly which to use. Helps to know what you're doing but it's doable.
Very nice.
Hi Alex, This is Chris and Colin Kingsland from the Crocker Rd days - great playing !!!
Hey! Thanks, funny that you found me.
Good work!
This is dope. Love the dynamics the guitar adds.
Thanks! Yeah I thought it would make it more interesting. I might try to add more guitar to my banjo tunes.
