What drew me to this video was the picture of the F-14, the greatest fighter ever, and the whole thing looked like a flight sim video. Since I love the Tom Cat, I clicked on it…I had no idea! That is the best rc build!
Hi Sir, greetings from Argentina. As a 64 YO guy and former pilot myself, I saw the 1st Top Gun movie and immidiately felt in love with the TomCat; therefore, when I saw your 1st video of this assembly I subscribed wright away and I don´t regret it at all. I had no idea how much work someone has to put into RC models, specially when I saw you so concirned to all the tiny small details. As a hand worker myself, I appreciate it very much. However, my anxienty grew more and more through every chapter of this series until today when I saw her flying. WHAT A SOUND!!!!!! That blew my mind! With my eyes closed, it felt almost like the real deal. C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S TO YOU SIR! And also to the man who handled the RC controller. That landing with no flaps and high speed was simply flawless! (I wish most of real pilots with real planes can do the same). I woulden´t had any problem if the video was 1 hour long, so please: more of that beautiful bird up in the air. I wish you, your family and friends my best. Keep it coming; we´ll be very greatfull. Cheers from NE Patagonia, Argentina. (a dream place).
I highly appreciate all the hard work going into these RC jets. Espedcially when they look so absolutely realistic, especially in these beautiful photos from 1:23 to 1:32. During flight, this F-14 Skymaster looked so real, the engine sound, the maneuvers. It takes an excellent RC pilot to bring such an airplane to life.
I worked on them in the Navy, then as a civil service structural mechanic at the Depot in Norfolk, Va.. Those flip up over wing fairings ? I used trim and fit them along with their attach fittings. I also did engine bay doors, which are critical on the F-14, as when they are locked in place they become load bearing structural components. While in the Navy I also worked on all of the hydraulic components that were sent to AIMD (Aviation Intermediate Maintenance Dept.) At NAS Oceana and on the USS Nimitz. I also did a lot of on aircraft for various airframe problems. Very nice model.
Really cool. My Dad, Bob Kress, Engineering Mgr for the F-14 and designer of the variable sweep wing would have loved to have seen this. He had his own model airplane company, Kress Jets.
@@erichvonmanstein6876 From the F-14A's inception until 1971, he was the program's engineering manager, after which he was appointed F-14 deputy development program manager. He can be seen describing the development of the now-retired F-14 into a maneuvering dogfighter on Modern Marvels: F14 DVD, and F-14D Tomcat vs. F/A18 E/F Super Hornet Two experts say the Super Hornet isn't so super By Bob Kress and Rear Adm. Paul Gillcrist, U.S. Navy (Ret.) He is credited with the idea of a computer controlled wing sweep mechanism that could be used in combat maneuvering.
EVERYTHING about this is simply drop-dead gorgeous - the wonderful model and the location and surrounding scenery. I think I'd like to relocate to Montana!!!!
Immaculate aircraft, detail and flight! The 2 things I always hope for in a Maiden RC aircraft video is no other aircraft noise or flight on the field which you have aced, and the hope for a close up aerial flight video. A view from the RC pilot POV is okay. RC Flight videos with a drone in chase, or a zoom from the field is an excellent marketing tool. Thank you!
It doesn't really matter how well you maneuver the aircraft in flight. Your skill as a pilot is all based on your landings. And that one was excellent.
Cool! How about set up a little camera on the plane to let us have the pilot's eye view? It might be very interesting for the film~ Fly us to the sky~😊
Beautiful aircraft! Love the paint job! Really pops! One minor detail, when the Diamondbacks were an F-14 squadron, it was VF-102. It changed to VFA-102 when the squadron converted to the F-18.

That is one really beautiful plan, the flight looked like fun with total awesome wonder.. I hope the owner get lots of flights out of it.. Great job Jon...
Amazing flight, it’s a shame when technical issues will not allow us to see al features working, but that’s the reason for test flights. Thanks to the builder, wonderfull construction job, and congratulation to the pilot.

When i was a kid my dad built a turbo jet sr71 and it was so big we towed it in a trailer too. This was in the 90s no idea how much that plane cost but easily tens of thousands. He let me try to land it. Lets just say it took another year to fly again lmao
Wow ! What else do you say. Another professionally built model, I think it’s the most impressive build yet ! Keep up the great work as always. I don’t know anyone that matches your skills, and the jets fly like the build, perfect ! Thanks for another great build series, now waiting for the next one ..

Awesome awesome job Congratulations on a great maiden Was nervous watching but she flew great Again congratulations on a absolutely beautiful job on the build Loved the whole series 👍👍👍👍😁
Awesome plane and flying. I have a 1/100th version of this, and I love it. I noticed, Coco the pilot didn't sweep the wings for any of the passes, unless I missed it.
Thanks David! We found the stock actuators for the wing sweep were not reliable/strong enough to trust to bring the wings back forward during these flights. They have since been upgraded to more powerful units. Next flights on it should have wings moving.
Great build, piloting, and commentary. What a beast! Got up close to a couple of F18s this weekend in Hamilton at the Warplane Heritage Museum. I just love the smell. They were unbelievably loud tho lol
It would have been nice to see it flying with the wings back and afterburner engaged, the icing on the cake would have been seeing it dog fighting a Zero, like in The Final Countdown movie. I so want one of these planes but I don't know how long it would take to get enough money saved so I could buy one.

Thanks! It is a lot of amazing details and lots of work to get it all functional! Thanks for watching!
Except the wing actuator lol.
Beautiful model.
Had to save your Allowance for that one. Needs some Guns! Pretty Cool!
Except that the wing did not sweep and it was soaring in top speed. That ruined the realism of this jet to be honest.
