I live in CT and the ratio of dealers was about 5:2 jaguar being the majority. I did not go with a ghibli solely because i was a little nervous regarding reliability. after spending about three years of research on many forums while still driving my daily ( 3.0T A6) i noticed many owners past & present had more issues with their Ghibli’s vs. owners who drove the supercharged XF’s, F-paces, & XE’s. i wanted exclusivity which these brands aim more towards vs the latest and greatest tech/household names that the Germans are known for. all in all, i’m on month 3 with my little XE S and it’s been nothing short of amazing. I will always hands down be a Maserati fan. Cheers from Connecticut :)

yes! i went to Valenti Maserati in Hartford (Jag dealer on the premises as this is a franchise) and loved it! Downgrading in size to an XE from my A6 was a bit shocking, but i learned to live with it. A rep showed up to my office today with his ‘19 gran sport SQ4. it’s so funny cause i told him i watched this same video last night when i commented. his ‘17 was totaled on Monday. we took it for a spin on rte 34 here in CT and it was absolutely amazing. i’m curious to see where both Jaguar & Maserati will be in the next 5-10 years with their new brand strategies.

You're never too old to go fast! I was impressed with the Ghibli but properly outfitted it can be more than $100K. I have not driven the Levante but hope to soon. I did watch a review on RUclips (Doug DeMuro) and he really didn't think it was special enough to be a Maserati.
I wouldn't say they are comparable, the m5 has 200 more horsepower and much better performance numbers. The regular 5 series is probably more a competitor, and I'd probably still take it for better performance at a discount.
I think it is about maths v. Emotions. In Maths bmw m5 wins. But if you are cars lover Ghibli wins. Have Ghibli 14. Now I drive gt. there is no doubt Ghibli has Maserati gens;)

I'm glad you finally pulled over to read the vehicle spec sheet before you potentially rear ended another car. Good luck explaining that crash to the insurance company😖 Seriously though, my wife just leased a 2019 Ghibli SQ4. I tried to steer her towards other comparable cars in this class (Audi, Mercedes, BMW) but she wanted a car that not everyone else is driving. I'm actually warming up to it after 2 months. It doesn't have the technology "wow factor" of the German brands, but it does have an old school luxury elegance to it. The powertrain performance is undeniable however daily driving in big city traffic congestion keeps those 424hp ponies pretty well shackled.
It has has automatic braking, so I would be fine. Congrats on the excellent choice, that's exactly what I like about them, exclusivity. How were they on the lease deal? I hear sometimes they offer great rates as they are eager to move units. Enjoy the Ghibli and thank you for watching.
Glad to see you’re warming up to it. I’ve seen you on other Ghibli videos really bothered by the Chrysler 300 switches. I agree the tech doesn’t compare to the Germans, but I also think the driving experience and elegance is far superior. As far as tech, the Apple CarPlay has all of the tech I personally need. In fact, I find some of the higher tech cars distracting from the actually driving experience as I’m more focused on that part. I have enough screen time between work and home lol. I hope you’re enjoying it.
@@jaquevius The fit and trim finishes leave a lot to be desired. A piece of the center console switchgear broke at the 15,000 mile mark. There were a couple of noticeable panel gaps we noticed upon the dealerships delivery to us. The nearly $20,000 off MSRP the dealer offered my wife made the deficiencies palatable.

The skyhook suspension option is a recommended option for poor roads and high comfort or sporty solid feel mode. I use kind to pass speed bumps more comfortably. Made by ZF Sachs this suspention is standard on Lambo's and has good reputation being more responsive An upgrade reinforced front studs caps more sollicited by the dual mode suspension.

A tech and interior refresh would really go a long way for them I think. Dunno why they haven't done so yet. That being said I still think they are pretty neat luxury sedans.

Problem with Maserati is the sparse dealer network. BMW is in just about every city over 200 000 people. I love Maserati, but living in northern Nevada (and growing rapidly) the nearest dealer is 150 miles away. We have audi, BMW, Porsche, Benz, jaguar and land rover dealerships. Maserati needs to build out the dealer network

@@BarongoCalvine Wow couple switches that are shared that's mind blowing, all manufacturers do this lmfao, the ghibli isn't some tech infested car it's a simple luxury Italian craftsmanship car, that's with all Italian cars if you haven't realized it by now. Your comparison with the 5 series to the ghibli doesn't make sense at all. It compares with the 6 series, since both start around the same price both have coupe-like feeling, framless doors, barely any legroom in the back of both vehicles. The 5 series is nothing compared to the Ghibli at all period. Since you wanna talk about technology Maserati includes everything now, 360 camera, active cruise control, etc, for $1,500 while other brands charge more, oh and they have standard blind spot/parking censors. Also android and apple car play standard, while bmw doesn't include android auto, and charge for apple car play like the other brands.

How can you possibly compare this car to the BMW m5 with a 600 hp engine, ~600ft lb. Of torque and 0-60 in 3 sec. Performance isn't even close. Even if you compare to the gran turismo at 50% increase in price the performance isn't even close to the same class. Not to mention the m5 had a smooth as silk double clutch automatic manual transmission compared with the clunky maserati transmission. The only thing the maserati had going for it is the engine sound. And to be honest what does the sound have to do with driving performance. This review is totally ridiculous.
So let me get this straight… let’s spend over $100k and get a BMW, which every joe, and his parents and grandparents have.. plus, a bunch of recent college graduates keep buying..

It compares with the 6 series, since both start around the same price both have coupe-like feeling, framless doors, barely any legroom in the back of both vehicles. The 5 series is nothing compared to the Ghibli at all period. Since you wanna talk about technology Maserati includes everything now, 360 camera, active cruise control, etc, for $1,500 while other brands charge more, oh and they have standard blind spot/parking censors. Also android and apple car play standard, while bmw doesn't include android auto, and charge for apple car play like the other brands.

How can you possibly compare this car to the BMW m5 with a 600 hp engine, ~600ft lb. Of torque and 0-60 in 3 sec. Performance isn't even close. Even if you compare to the gran turismo at 50% increase in price the performance isn't even close to the same class. Not to mention the m5 had a smooth as silk double clutch automatic manual transmission compared with the clunky maserati transmission. The only thing the maserati had going for it is the engine sound. And to be honest what does the sound have to do with driving performance. This review is totally ridiculous.
