Another good video. For me the reason for deluxe is simple. If I’m getting the deluxe I’m getting 2 for the price of 1 and a bit. So if you’ve not got the figure it’s a good investment

I always go deluxe, especially for all the points you summed up. The cool-looking bases and the additional accessories is almost always worth going deluxe.
Great video! And I agree, always go deluxe… I enjoy getting all the available accessories, especially when it comes to the deluxe option, even if it’s just a hologram. I like having the option for my photography. The InArt Joker detonator will go great in future photos
My personal favorite is when they offer a second body to go along with all of the options you need to use, like SooSooToys X-24 and Wolverine or the upcoming Mars Toys Biff Tannen figure.
Although recently, DX didnt really feel that special anymore like the DX Ahsoka or DX19 Batman with the lack of accessories. Another problem is HT sorta double dipping with DX figures like with Black Adam where they have 3 versions DX29, 30 and 31 which is ridiculous because 29 and 30 could ve been in the same package.
speaking of bases, what’s your method to keeping the ones (like batman’s) lit up all the time without a ton of wires cluttering up the display? a portable power bank?
I actually just got mine up and running! I have a hub with 6 cables going up and around depending on where the figs are. Not perfect, but my black back drops certainly help

I love having options when it comes to accessories, but how many times are you going to take something down just to replace hands, armor pieces, weapons and various miscellaneous parts. Once it's on my shelf, it stays that way. I say DLX, but it feels like you need twonof the same figure to take advantage of all the cool pieces; think Gladiator Thor for example.
Definitely agree with your points, I also noticed that Sideshow ships out the Deluxe versions first. I wish the Deluxe came with both the regular stand and the diaroma stand. Like the Tobey Sandman base is cool but it takes more space and limits Spidey to a dynamic pose. Hot toys, just give us both. I pre-ordered the Standard Black Adam (your fav actor/character lol) solely because I need a regular base even tho I'd love to have that alternate head sculpt.
I usually go for what accessories are available in the deluxe rather than the exclusive base because I don't have enough space for the bigger diorama bases. You nailed it perfectly by using Vader as an example. I've never had a Vader in my collection and the option to have a pristine version was too good to pass up. Bases like the stealth spidey, andrew's lizard and tobey's sandman are just too big for me to display AND store in storage. But a throne base, like Boba's I'd definitely get.
What if you don’t care for the accessories and diorama bases ,though ( depending on what they are ofc )? I mean if it’s rooted vs sculpted ( like with InArt ) I’ll always go for rooted ,but most accessories I don’t care much about .
@@KeCoCollects I don’t plan on reselling in general. But even for the figures I like . For example Asmus Galadriel ,her special edition is with the Bassein and extra cloak . But I don’t care to recreate that scene , I don’t like Frodo I’ll never buy him . Instead ,I’ve put her on Thranduil’s diorama stand of ruins , to make it look more like she’s on Dol-Guldur instead ,banishing Sauron ( from TH BOTFA) ,which scene I like far more than the one Asmus want the figure to represent . And for Legolas’ diorama from helm’s deep , I have no space ,so if I had paid an extra 100 for something I’d never had used ,just to keep it in the box , I don’t see the point . Ofc Arwen’s day bed from death frock , I didn’t skip even though it was sold separately ,because is a cool furniture piece that I can use with other figures as well. It’s just not so binary with me , I guess . It really depends on if I care for the extra accessories or not.
Keco can I get your opinion on the clone wars, Anakin and Obi-Wan figures and will you be adding them to your collection? I’m curious because I’m trying to stick with Star Wars episodes one through six but those two figures in their armor look pretty cool especially Anakins looking like some pre-Vader armor are awfully tempting. I know the timeline fits, but those characters were based off a cartoon. As for the video I prefer deluxe versions. Thank you for the content.
I have The Clone Wars Kenobi on pre order so I'm excited for that. I already have the original clone wars anakin and I LOVE him. I'll also get the ahsoka version too, because Anakin is my favorite character

I’m not sure is the deluxe is automatically more desirable especially with Hot Toys tendency to not include all accessories in the deluxe version like with MOM Wanda and Mando Ahsoka having exclusive bases to the regular version that aren’t included in the deluxe. It’s really on a case by case basis and dependent on the exclusive extra stuff. Like idk if people care too much about all those exclusive holograms they include with nearly every Star Wars figure now.
The main flipside of getting deluxe is spending 30 to 50 bucks more per figure, and in the long run you could have bought more figures by spending less on deluxe accessories you might not need or want. For me, most cases I go deluxe. Only reason I sometimes don't is because I totally don't care for the deluxe accessories (like Groot GOTG Vol3).

Standard version for me. Two reasons: I'm not made of money. This hobby is a luxury, not a necessity, and I have responsibilities. Here in Canada, the deluxe versions are usually a hundred bucks more than the standard). Second. My place is a two bedroom apartment. I don't have the space for large displays or accessories like batmobiles and such. I may yet be tempted (looking at you BVS Batman 2.0 with second articulated head sculpt), but yeah, standard for me.

Is it still worth buying the deluxe if it will damage the figure over time? Was watching Justin’s review of no way home Tobey and he talked about how the waste clamp on the sandman base could damage the blue rubber parts of Tobey’s costume. Is there a way to use a waist clamp on a base like that and prevent damage? If not, is the deluxe still the way to go in your opinion?
Depends on how you pose him for sure - but I have never cared much about "damage" from posing. They are figures - not statues. That said, if you are worried, I know people take some of the foam inserts and wrap it around the "teeth" of the clamp. That might help

I agree with the deluxe or bust motto in general, but the OWK Darth Vader will be my exception to the rule. What's the purpose of getting the OWK version if not to display it with the battle damaged head. The other bonus head sits in the box. I say this because I already display the ANH Vader and will get the ROTJ deluxe version which I suspect will be the best Vader by hot toys when it arrives.
I always go standard! I don't waste my money on all the 'Extras" I usually don't use all of the items that come with standard so why "Invest" in things I won't use.. These are NOT investments so I don't expect to make money on any of my figures!

But every time I come to see your videos here, you just seem to be a bit stiff. I believe I've heard you mention a couple times that you script these? And I think maybe that's a bit of it. These videos sometimes just come across as very...official? I only add a question mark because I'm not quite sure what word fits here. But my main point is that, we as collectors love watching these videos so that we can hear the passion in someone else, the opinions, the "hot takes". I remember I used to love putting on Dean Knight Batman videos just so that I could have it on in the background listening to him ramble on about his passion for Batman and Batman Begins. It wasn't structured or put together, it was just a guy rambling on speech and sentence imperfections and all. And I think that's what the main difference here is. Keco unscripted is this argumentative hilarious and very opinionated person. Keco on script is very punctuated and formal, very "dear viewer." Anyway I don't know if this helps or doesn't, I honestly might take this comment down at some point. But I'd just like to reiterate, you're awesome, and please take no offense because I swear none was intended at any point through this. And I'm still tuning in either way.
Don't take comments down for sure.. I always love comments. I think you are 100% on to something. Genuine reactions are very important and I love doing that on the streams. For these though, I do "Script" or structure them so that they are concise and not rambling because people click away so often - so I have to get to the point. Thanks for the video Keco. Deluxe all the time. Get all the accessories to have all possible ways of displaying. Agreed that it holds the most value, but even more importantly, you don't miss out on anything that was featured to tie in with your figure. My Joker can't seem to find his detonator, have you seen it 🤔?
I don’t have any regrets buying the stealth suit Spidey over the deluxe with molten man. What Hot Toys should do with deluxe editions is to include the standard base for those that may want to pose the figure traditionally if they would like and use the deluxe base for something else or for the figure itself. Allow those options if we’re paying more for the deluxe edition. Those standard bases probably set them back .25 cents. Doesn’t make sense why they don’t include a standard base with a deluxe set.
@@KeCoCollects Yeah, I don’t understand it. The deluxe versions should come with every single thing that comes with the standard down to the generic bases. So basically the standards are exclusive editions because the deluxe doesn’t have the generic base. 🥴🤪
Deluxe is superior you can use the boxes to make bigger forts to fend off the tooth fairies (they don't wait anymore, they just take). We all have a request, please make sure the detonator goes to somebody who does NOT have the InArt Joker or any Joker, so they just have the detonator displayed on it's own as their representation of that movie.
Good video. For me, the only thing that affects my choice is what does the base look like? The newly announced Jack Sparrow deluxe base is far better than the standard. I absolutely loath the basic, uninspiring bases like the rectangular sand base or a standard rectangular base with a generic pattern. I like unique bases that add to a figure and its presence. Especially when I don't have companion pieces, it helps that single figure that's on its own.
You should make a video about top DX figures that didn't deserve or need to be a DX! For me is the Asoka, 1 head, inaccurate sculpt, little accessory. compare it to something like DX11 or DX13.
Agree for the most part. Usually it is a better option going deluxe, special edition etc. vs. regular edition. However I'd tell collectors know your collection and yourself. Do you really believe ever that you will use the extras that come with a deluxe edition? I bought the standard Doc Ock vs deluxe cause I KNEW I would not display the alternate red ock arms. Same with InArt Joker. As much as I would of liked the rooted version I KNEW I would not display two Jokers. So went sculpted. I could of bit the bullet and went with two pack and sold one of the jokers. Gotten some change back but I'm good with my decision. On the flip side..I would go with the special edition Mark 3 2.0 just for the crushed helmet. I have an Iron Monger and putting that helmet in his hands...no brainer. Appreciate the giveasway but personally dont need the detonator. Watch I say that and I become one of the winners lol Thanks for vid!
When I brought Carnage, I faced the same debate. I always go upgraded. This figure I was really undecided. But I got it for the same price. So glad I did! I said to Will his channel has become my go to for news and your channel has now become a go to for content that is more analytical and to the point. Hopefully I win a Detonator as well! I say DLX all the way. I wish that I knew about the differences between the types - Standards, Deluxe & Exclusives earlier in my 1/6 collecting hobby. My first DLX figure was Spider-Man Stealth Suit (MMS541). And as you stated before, that Molten Man diorama is 🔥 (pun intended) lol.
I will say I always go deluxe, but I think it's ok to go regular version for those that need the space or know they aren't going to use a display base. Sometimes the additional pieces or bases are complete sh@t. I also would have subscribed to the idea that deluxe would hold value but I don't anymore. Price factors into the secondary market and the regular being cheaper sometimes is a reason to get it sold quicker. Of course this is all anecdotal, I don't have any data to suggest it other than what I've seen of late.
Deluxe or bust, I usually go bust as I don't ever use the extra content that comes with a Deluxe purchase. The pieces I have bought and sold over the past 10 years mostly all standard, I have made an average of $150.00 more than I paid. I don't collect for a profit and only sell figures I have lost touch with. As I just told your buddy Wil on a recent post of his, I have not Sub'd yet but I'm getting closer each video I watch of yours. Maybe I will join after the InArt give away as I'm not taking chance on owning anything they produce even if it is free. Wink Wink Smiley Face ; )
The "Collectors" version is usually the "base option" and is bare bones. If you want bells and whistles, you go deluxe. Pretty much the inverse of video games

Deluxe PO for Vader and Wolverine for sure. It didn't seem worth it for The Batman. For a smoke bomb gun we never saw him use, some plastic steps and a wing suit to cover up that awesome batsuit!!! Money better spent on another deluxe.

I remember I used to love putting on Dean Knight Batman videos just so that I could have it on in the background listening to him ramble on about his passion for Batman and Batman Begins. It wasn't structured or put together, it was just a guy rambling on speech and sentence imperfections and all. And I think that's what the main difference here is. Keco unscripted is this argumentative hilarious and very opinionated person. Keco on script is very punctuated and formal, very "dear viewer."
Anyway I don't know if this helps or doesn't, I honestly might take this comment down at some point. But I'd just like to reiterate, you're awesome, and please take no offense because I swear none was intended at any point through this. And I'm still tuning in either way.
Don't take comments down for sure.. I always love comments. I think you are 100% on to something. Genuine reactions are very important and I love doing that on the streams. For these though, I do "Script" or structure them so that they are concise and not rambling because people click away so often - so I have to get to the point. All that to say, there is a better balance I can find I'm sure. thanks as always for the support
Thanks for the video Keco. Deluxe all the time. Get all the accessories to have all possible ways of displaying. Agreed that it holds the most value, but even more importantly, you don't miss out on anything that was featured to tie in with your figure. My Joker can't seem to find his detonator, have you seen it 🤔?

I don’t have any regrets buying the stealth suit Spidey over the deluxe with molten man. What Hot Toys should do with deluxe editions is to include the standard base for those that may want to pose the figure traditionally if they would like and use the deluxe base for something else or for the figure itself. Allow those options if we’re paying more for the deluxe edition. Those standard bases probably set them back .25 cents. Doesn’t make sense why they don’t include a standard base with a deluxe set.

@@KeCoCollects Yeah, I don’t understand it. The deluxe versions should come with every single thing that comes with the standard down to the generic bases. So basically the standards are exclusive editions because the deluxe doesn’t have the generic base. 🥴🤪

Deluxe is superior you can use the boxes to make bigger forts to fend off the tooth fairies (they don't wait anymore, they just take). We all have a request, please make sure the detonator goes to somebody who does NOT have the InArt Joker or any Joker, so they just have the detonator displayed on it's own as their representation of that movie.

Good video. For me, the only thing that affects my choice is what does the base look like? The newly announced Jack Sparrow deluxe base is far better than the standard. I absolutely loath the basic, uninspiring bases like the rectangular sand base or a standard rectangular base with a generic pattern.
I like unique bases that add to a figure and its presence. Especially when I don't have companion pieces, it helps that single figure that's on its own.

You should make a video about top DX figures that didn't deserve or need to be a DX! For me is the Asoka, 1 head, inaccurate sculpt, little accessory. compare it to something like DX11 or DX13.

Agree for the most part. Usually it is a better option going deluxe, special edition etc. vs. regular edition. However I'd tell collectors know your collection and yourself. Do you really believe ever that you will use the extras that come with a deluxe edition? I bought the standard Doc Ock vs deluxe cause I KNEW I would not display the alternate red ock arms. Same with InArt Joker. As much as I would of liked the rooted version I KNEW I would not display two Jokers. So went sculpted. I could of bit the bullet and went with two pack and sold one of the jokers. Gotten some change back but I'm good with my decision. On the flip side..I would go with the special edition Mark 3 2.0 just for the crushed helmet. I have an Iron Monger and putting that helmet in his hands...no brainer.

When I brought Carnage, I faced the same debate. I always go upgraded. This figure I was really undecided. But I got it for the same price. So glad I did! I said to Will his channel has become my go to for news and your channel has now become a go to for content that is more analytical and to the point. Hopefully I win a Detonator as well! I say DLX all the way. I wish that I knew about the differences between the types - Standards, Deluxe & Exclusives earlier in my 1/6 collecting hobby. My first DLX figure was Spider-Man Stealth Suit (MMS541). And as you stated before, that Molten Man diorama is 🔥 (pun intended) lol.

I will say I always go deluxe, but I think it's ok to go regular version for those that need the space or know they aren't going to use a display base. Sometimes the additional pieces or bases are complete sh@t. I also would have subscribed to the idea that deluxe would hold value but I don't anymore. Price factors into the secondary market and the regular being cheaper sometimes is a reason to get it sold quicker. Of course this is all anecdotal, I don't have any data to suggest it other than what I've seen of late.

Deluxe or bust, I usually go bust as I don't ever use the extra content that comes with a Deluxe purchase. The pieces I have bought and sold over the past 10 years mostly all standard, I have made an average of $150.00 more than I paid. I don't collect for a profit and only sell figures I have lost touch with. As I just told your buddy Wil on a recent post of his, I have not Sub'd yet but I'm getting closer each video I watch of yours. Maybe I will join after the InArt give away as I'm not taking chance on owning anything they produce even if it is free. Wink Wink Smiley Face ; )

The question is DELUXE or Collector's. In some cases the DELUXE cost more. In the VIDEO GAME world.... COLLECTOR'S is always best.... please explain.
The "Collectors" version is usually the "base option" and is bare bones. If you want bells and whistles, you go deluxe. Pretty much the inverse of video games
@KeCoCollects I get that completely, but when it comes to action figures, video games. Anything of that sort, usually collectors dition is the top tier. This just totally confuses the hell out of me.
Deluxe PO for Vader and Wolverine for sure. It didn't seem worth it for The Batman. For a smoke bomb gun we never saw him use, some plastic steps and a wing suit to cover up that awesome batsuit!!! Money better spent on another deluxe.
