If I did it again, I'd do it through the bottom like you did. Edit: you have to remove the fpr, loosen the abs actuator, remove the bolt from that motor mount (to lift motor to gain room) and remove or pivot down after loosening the alternator bracket (to avoid removing water pump pulley) on an 03 Evo 8.

I replaced my alternator and the other week. When I take out the terminal from the car while running it shuts off. I don’t think it’s the alternator. I got a new battery and a multimeter. I’m going to check the wiring harness to the alternator for voltage first. Any other tips you’d recommend?

@@dezznuzz2424 you can only orient it 1 way to come out.. if you try any other way it wont fit... it is very close. Look up pictures through the evom forum write up. and I recommend using bungee cord/s when pulling it hooks to the loose alternator and the hood, it makes it easy.

There's something about the way he pays someone to do things to his cars that kind of puts me off, know what I mean? Also he says 'actually' and 'stuff' too much haha This is what separates this channel from his.
WHY do people buy used parts?! 🤦🏻♂️ especially off eBay? A motor is one thing but an alternator? Spend the extra few bucks for brand new one so you know it’s the correct one and it’s good.

I own a 05 evo 8 and have changed the alternator 4 times... top is easier by far.
