Hey! I was the Ness at 5:14. I still have no idea what happened. It wasn't just the victory screen, Ness' eyes were gone the whole match. I saved the replay and played it back on the switch and his eyes were magically there again
Maybe it's a glitch? Idk it hasn't happened to me

I can explain why the eyes were back in the replay, at least. In Smash, saving a replay saves the update version, stage, song, characters (including Mii settings), starting RNG seed, item settings, rules, and inputs. Playing the replay back is like recreating the match beat-for-beat from scratch using a TAS (like they use for speedruns to create the hypothetical best run). Whatever it was that caused Ness to lose his eyes involved something that doesn’t get saved in the replay.
(Incidentally, this is why replays are deleted whenever they don’t match the current update. The mechanics have been changed, so the saved inputs might not recreate the match accurately, leading to weird results. You have to have converted it into a pure video file to keep the recording in any form after an update.)

Like, a lot of WTF moments involve unexpected hitboxes/hurtboxes, weird angles, odd interactions, or minor visual glitches, but this is something else. How the hell did Pikachu’s NAir teleport Nana over there?

I've seen that before. In the 5th edition of WTF moments, Pikachu literally killed Nana with ONE JAB. This was supposed to be patched in 3.1 btw.

It's a weird interaction with Arsene's spike hitting first before the normal hit that sends forward.

Bro the Smash Community is stupid, they don't ban exploiting glitches (Melee's whole competitive scene is a glitch (wavedashing, etc)), they don't ban obviously unfair characters (Smash 4 Bayo, Brawl Meta Knight) they count wins that were accomplished through unintentional but unfair methods (Like this one) and they don't ban unfair techniques like wobbling.

I think it's funny that they would want it banned considering Snake & Duck-Hunt can do something incredibly similar by just pressing neutral B at any time haha. Villager needs some stuff like this to help him succeed in high-level play
I find it funny the commentators didn't even noticed the Lloyd Rocket stuck to Villager. They said nothing about it xD "Or the interaction" is what they were talking about but it was so confusing I felt like they would have reacted more to that...

Hitboxes and hurtboxes could easily explain some of these, along with priority and interactions on that level.
Favorite one is the Bowser’s side-b into the gyro, and then a straight-faced f-tilt follow up.

I always feel bad for the people that get robbed because of the game being wack. In a few local tourneys, if someone gets robbed of their win against me I just give it to them. Because if it's not supposed to happen, I wouldn't feel good with that victory

It’s not exactly like what you do and people see it as taunting but in teams when my opponents are down one member I stop and let it go 1 v 1 rather than 2 so they have an actual chance.

@Sean It’s difficult but convenient. It shouldn’t take too long to start to get the hang of it. Also it was used twice in the video, so it’s starting to become an asset for villager mains. It’s probably going to patched out though.

Ness doesn't have eyes because the taunt he did would close his eyes, and at the EXACT moment the match ended, his eyes were CLOSED. Not erased. I've had this happen to me before as well.
The Villager's Lloyd jacket glitch would honestly be kind of busted if it could easily be performed on the fly in an actual match.
