Thanks for the awesome review! Any updates on these? I bought Aldi Lacura Sensitive razors for men 4 pack because women's had lousy reviews! Did you use razor more than once & results pls if yes? I didn't get as much underarm irritation with Lacura Sensitive compared to very expensive Gillette Proglide! I'm going to buy these & save money too! Thanks again!
@@GeekOfShavesthat's fantastic thank you. I'm going to try Gillette Sensitive Mens shave gel after watching your awesome reviews on those. Thanks for those! Women's shave gels in US are lousy bc don't foam up, soften skin or clear razor!
Thanks for alerting to these. I tried some cheap disposable 3 blade ones from Morrisons a few years ago that were awful. Pulled out more hairs than actually cut any. But may give these Aldi Lacura ones a go. How do they compare to a Mach 3? PS I'm amazed you don't get more nicks with the gusto you shave at! I tend to go much slower.
Hi. I really like these and to be honest more than the mach 3 blades I have tried recently. It may sound odd but the pivot point on these is different to the Gillette products, as if you look the Mach 3 and Fussion are connected at the bottom and these are connected behind the blades (more like the Gillette sensor disposables I reviewed recently). This change can interfere with someone's shave technique as humans are good at repetition and noticing small changes, we are also good at adapting and learning so it's worth giving time to anything new. As for gusto in my shave, you may notice I also have to do several passes on the same spots (just I do it quickly). This is all to do with the pressure or in my case the real lack off it, if I push at all on my face I get lots of broken skin weapers and still bo in some videos on my neck but they are not really cuts, this is also why I struggle more with very light or very heazy razor handles, as I basically use the weight of the handle for the pressure and I have a sweet spot.
Here in the Netherlands Aldi sells disposable 2 blade razors with pivoting head, they’re called Delta 2 by biocura. They cost €2 for a pack of ten, bought a whole box of them because I like them so much. Great for both head and face shaving(for me at least). For what they cost you should definitely try them out imo. Edit: What’s also good about them is that they don’t clog easily so they work well with even a week’s growth.
Great review. While not a fan of most disposables, they will always have a place (travelling, family emergencies, etc). This looks like a good one, and you can't beat Wilkinson Sword. Now they just need to be able to melt down/re-use/recycle them properly...
I think in many places they can't on the blades as they would be considered a health hazard, not just as a sharps but as a biohazard with possible blood from cuts. Think best we can really have is waste to energy in the real world rather than the ideal world. Still we don't even get this most the time.
Cheers @AllyDz trying to keep up the good work trying to build it I to consistent habit on both food and exercise. Some work still to go but it's all going to be slow progress with diminishing returns. How you keeping?
@@GeekOfShaves doing well brother. Just been super busy with work and home improvements and hence not been sorting. Will be doing something hopefully this weekend 🤞🏼
Watching you shave,,,as i shave,…wonder when these might pop up under the store brand, well no they had the Quattro but it was in a 12 pack no three blade yet
Yeah the 3 blade was new to me I did not k ow it was in their arsenal. GT5 is five blade, GT6 is six, but they have never listed a three with this injection mould anywhere I have found before.
Hi, great review again. I have went back to Gillette Blue ii disposables again, good value for money, any chance that you could do reviews for Gillette Blue ii, Blue ii Plus & Blue ii plus Slalom?
So, do you think it’s a Gillette blade or just looks like it? Great review. I thought about buying these but just thought they cannot be any good for that price. I will definitely check them out.thank you.
Hi man, I saw these before but was worried about the quality, now I'll definitely be trying them knowing theyre basically three blade Quattros. Am I right in thinking any quattro handle will fit them too? If so even better!
Hi James, Yes the cartridge is going to fit a quatro handle one you remove the existing plastic handle on the disposable. Currently in tesco etc the Quatro tends to use a chrome handle with white rubber grip.
Excellent news. I do this with my bic flex disposables, snap the heads off and use them on a heavy handle I got years ago with their shave club. Makes it a much nicer shave and so cheap. PS last question; do you know which generic cartridge handles (if any) would for these too? I've looked for a quattro handle but a bit scarce. I may be wrong but I am thinking Amazon's "solimo" razor might fit these.
@James Hi James. Yes I have that BIC shave club handle too. The old retron4 fro King of shaves also used BIC cartridges. I will have to watch my space as you have a great eye. The amazon Solimo does use the same connectors . Also so does any of the Bulldog ranges, and also the current sainsburys hone brand. I also have loads from when I first got into this and set up #BuildersBlades. The sainsburys will be cheapest at just £2.50 and the handle is great.
@@GeekOfShaves Yeah I noticed a lot of Amazon's Solimo range seem to mimick the Quattro range. They even have a razor/trimmer hybrid that mimicks the Quattro trimmer like you have here. Is it the Sainsbury's "men advance" 3 blade that will fit the Aldis? If so I'll be picking one up. I hope they keep these Aldi razors for a while for when I can't find the Bics. Thanks again!
@James yes the one with the blue handle. Also I just remembered the hone brand in Lidle use the system handle and the quatroo cartridge injection moulding with 5 blades in it.. Basically Edgwell (Who own Wilkinson Sword and Bulldog as brands) make the most white label/ private lable razors in the world globally, they have a whole division just to do this under personna. Would you say they are the best disposable razor in regards to value for money or have you tried better that also offer great value? Great review by the way 👏
This and the BIC flex comfort 3 would be my tip two choices and the price difference between them is so minor it's not enough for me to give a clear defined winner on my cost to performance ratio I have. Cheap does not always mean best value, just like expensive does not always mean best quality.
This company who made this product on behalf of Lidl is Edgwell (Owners of the brands Wilkinson Sword and Shick). They do also have manufacturing I believe in the USA as well as Sollinger (and other locations) so the ones in the USA may well have been made there
