After many years of ROCK AND ROLL BABY, I have returned with a vengeance to the music I was esxposed to in a Humanities class in high school. I never forgot it, but it was not our “ thing “ in the 70’s and 80’s and 90’s . Plenty of wonderful joyous music was made at that time but I find myself finally drawn back to music that gave me joy and wonderment at the minds who could create such complex and beautiful sounds. Ahh, love again !

Thanks! It is only the past several years that I can actually appreciate classical music. In my earlier years, I just did not get it. It did nothing for me. Now, I can't live without it!

Splendore'!

And now I've become the geek and nerd! Lol classical music I believe taps into a frequency that takes the listeners to a whole new level of sounds, frequencys and vibration. That's great Kathy. My mom did the same for me, and also had me learn classical violin starting at age 3.
And I totally agree about the worldly music. It has gotten so out of control, and has had devastating impacts on the youth of which I am a part, not only the lyrics, but the 'musicality' of it as well. One study I am familiar with was done on mice, in which they were exposed to either classical or rock music, and were given certain tasks. The 'classical' mice continued to improve, while the 'rock' mice eventually got to the point where they were unable to even perform the task.
You can never go wrong with playing or listening to classical music. The technical ability, precision, and beauty of it has endured hundreds of years, and is good for the mind, body, and the soul. God bless:)

"Music makes the people come together" it is fascinating to see that all music lovers are gathering and sharing similar feelings about this... music is a mutual language of the people no matter from what natioanality, gender, age etc they are... we all sense similar things... and I believe that no other force on this planet has the same power as music does... well we all percieve this music subjectively but at the and this "mesmerising organised sounds" reach some part of our brain and knock the door that we all have at some point

Like great cinematography, it's the great story and the deep multi-layered feelings that you become a part of. Then you see that the lighting and all has been placed just so, that it vanishes as lighting and cinematography, and so it is with this masterful technique and ensemble playing.
Each musician here places everything just so, and the technical vanishes, revealing Johann Sebastian Bach. Having been a violinist for some 35 years now, I have to take a moment to mention that these performances are so magnificent, they are absolute gold to me. The intelligent and tasteful playing left me stunned. Bravissimo

This is Elizabeth Wallfisch, violin, performing with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment where the pitch has been lowered to 392 hz from the original recording for this upload for some reason. There is no ITS Orchestra nor is there a Louis Jullien. The oboist in BWV 1060 is Anthony Robson and the other violinist in BWV 1043 is Alison Bury.
