It’s frustrating for me sometimes when a reviewer reviews a great bag only to learn I will probably never be able to own one because it’s no longer being made or it was a previous limited release that I missed out.
It’s all good! You can still find these on the second hand market. For this particular bag - the best place is the Carryology Classified group on Facebook. I know it can be frustrating that not all bags I review are purchasable - but I’m committed to sharing bags that are new, bags that are from the past, and bags from all over the world on the channel - but I feel you and completely get it
Yea, camo can very quickly become too "military" to me. One of my first serious bag purchases was a Maxpedition Monsoon in ACU Grey, and as much as I may love the look, it basically never left the house because of that. Worse, I wasn't being honest with myself about why I wasn't carrying it, and ended up buying a Maxpedition Sitka in the same colorway later that year, which also only saw limited use for the same reason. Flash forward to today, and my favorite bag right now is a Chrome Messenger in that glorious Duck Camo colorway, and I actively look for excuses to carry it over more practical bags for my needs. Then you also run into situations like a few days ago where I was asked by a cashier at Lowe's if I was military after slinging around a Chrome Kadet in last year's Firebrick colorway to fetch my wallet. You never know!
A buddy gifted me an Arc'teryx pack in multicam which I brought on vacation to the Bahamas. I heard from every MAGA turd possible. It was like a magnet for stolen valor.
Love how big the water bottle pockets are. I sometimes struggle to put my 32oz trail hydroflask (slimmer than regular hydroflasks at the expense of heat/cold retention)in my phoenix 2 when the main compartment is fully packed out. I also like the idea of the “beaver tail” for possibly quick storing of my really thick puffer jacket (nuptse from tnf) during cold weather, can’t really see this as a gym/sports otherwise sneakers/slides could possibly work as well. What I don’t like is as a civilian like you mentioned how the camo makes it look military although it’s fairly subtle when the tail is tucked away. Trying to convince myself that this bag coincides too much with my phoenix 2 ctb26 and I DO NOT need it. I’m in the eu and we don’t get much love here when it comes to drops and general availability but one of these popped up in an eu group recently and is still available. You’re absolutely right with the fomo created through these groups
I think mystery ranch fell into the same pit as Carhartt. I believe you know the adage "people like to wear Carhartt unless it's time to do Carhartt stuff" Same thing with mystery and their collabs. Which is perfectly fine I guess
Thanks for a great review! I"m trying to warm up to Mystery Ranch. They are still a bit on the "Operator" side for me.

@@ThePerfectBag it’s ok. I enjoy your videos and learn a lot. Keep up the great work.
The review helps to decide if a certain hard to get bag is worth the chase of trying to get one on the secondary or not.
Hey Klint! Are you sitting by waiting for it to turn 4pm EST, to get the new Evade 1.5 with the Coyote lining?
Good review. I like the overall look except the flared pockets .

Was waiting to see if the beaver tail was gonna be amputated.
Not on this one! I moved it on to someone who will treasure it.
Completely understandable. Great review. Thx and keep them coming!
