    This days Gervonta Davis is using this technique the best
    Sometimes instead of sliping he changes levels then he leaps into the hook

      True! He does a great job with this leaping hook. He’s a great example of a shorter fighter utilizing this technique very well. Good call 🤝

    I wonder if Gabriel would ever make a video on "Hajime no Ippo".

    I’ve always called it a “leaping hook”. I use it all the time and I love it!
    Jab, feint jab, leap hook. Works every time. Until your opponent knows it’s coming then you can feint the leaping hook and throw a long straight/cross instead. And that’s a great “back & forth” with this strike. 🙏

    The legendary kickboxer Trevor Ambrose used this type of hook a lot, he taught me how to do it

    Yo Gabriel huge fan yours and Jeff Chans videos have been a massive help in sparring. Just wondering when you think the collab will happen?

      I second this bc I don't think there's two TOP level martial arts youtubers who have a more opposite style.

    Gabriel, I used to practice the gazelle punch a lot in padwork with my coach to work on my explosiveness while punching. This video helped me with an idea on how to enter punching range without getting interrupted mid way through on my gazelle punch against a taller opponent/ sparring partner. Awesome analysis! 🥊

      So, did the throw a leaping right hook?

    • @KYLE_FROM_THE_FUTURE
      @KYLE_FROM_THE_FUTURE 18 дней назад

      @@enginerikli5895 Not sure if you’re asking me specifically. I’ve added it to my Muay Thai sparring and it’s been working great.
      I’ll use a probing jab, a light double jab, the feint jab to leaping hook. Have had a lot of success with it this way.
      Started adding a solid cross or straight to the body afterwards as well. Then if my opponent is still “shelled” up… I’ll tee off and back out or pivot when needed.
      But the leaping hook as a strong entry has become a solid part of my sparring technique lately. 👍

    sport fighting is one thing, self defense is another. You'd BETTER learn all the ways of using your un-gloved hands, spear hand, bear-claw, cupped palm to the ear, chicken beak, spade hand. learn to use forearms shins, head butts, biting, Learn to grab pecs, collar bone, armpit skin, ears, mouth, larnyx, junk, armpit skin, floating ribs, inside of thigh, hair, fingers, toes. Use your strengths to his weaknesses. Do NOT head hunt. Bare handed you can hurt him BADLY with body shots Learn to REALLY kick (low) and to avoid/block same. Stay out of his arm's reach, close to that distance when you can, strike and IF your strike is effective, ok, followup, If it is NOT however, jump,skip, glide back out of his arm's reach. WAY too many bad things happen much too quickly at arm's reach distances and they come from all angles. Most of them you'll never even see .NEARLY all of that is avoided just by keeping your forearms up, your head and torso moving and staying out of arms reach. Dont ruin your bare fists by beating on his arms and head!
