I love non-cutaways. I completely agree with you. Vintage DeArmond pickups are fantastic too. That is a very, very late L-4 for those features, but I'm sure it being a wartime version must have something to do with that. Notice that it's basically the same guitar as a pre-Advanced 16-inch L-7. The headstock is noticeably wider than a 1930s version though.
Great to hear an older instrument being played instead of just being hung on a wall. You're getting nice music from it.
