It's nice to see a father and son bonding over a shared interest like this.
Who Baxter and Sean! 😂❤🎸
I love that and agreed:)
More like Sean and Derrick
I thought it was the kid’s grandmother. Like a special fairy godmother who has a lot of guitars. And is maybe a man. (I love this channel so I must bust balls)⚽️ 🏀 🏈
Info and prices. Usually people just skip around and don't show lots of prices. Thanks for the great video.
True !!! Although the prices were mind blowing to me, I was glad they showed us .
Excellent job with the video guys , the camera was steady , nice close ups on the guitars , plus the info input 👍🏻. Cheers BC
3:49 “I’ve got a fever… and the only prescription is… *more SGs!”* 😂
I love videos like this! Keep em coming 👌 cheers from NZ 😎🎸🤘
That '62 sunburst Stratocaster for 32.5 K was my stand out! My dream guitar right there! Thank you for this guys!
Agreed and thank you!
Yep, I'm thinking maybe my wife's surgery can wait.
hehe surgery shmurgery probably just a precaution anyway@@rosewoodsteel6656
Same here, dream guitar.
Definitely my favorite at the show as well.
Nice father & son day 😊
Interesting stuff but, those of us who are OLD enough to remember will have a hard time reconciling the prices of these 70’s era Gibsons and Fenders that were pretty much all dogs when they came out and were a junkie compromise throughout the 80’s and 90’s. No disrespect meant, just being honest.
Baxter, go to that one dealer that sells guitar-shaped combs.
I need more than that...please help me:)
You missed that the Firebird @14:48 is a 1965 transitional model. It is a reverse Firebird with a non-reverse headstock. I love those!
Are you guys coming to Franklin, TN in a couple weeks? It's the Amigo Guitar Show!
Thanks for the tour😃
Thank you!
Good call, Baxter. My friend plays his 1965 ES-125 TDC through a Princeton Reverb, and it sounds like perfection.
Oh I loved it!
Wish we had shows like this where I live. So cool.
Gotta love the insane prices at guitar shows!
"5 ladies here, but they're all beautifull" right as a frumpy old lady in sweat pants walks by. Timing couldn't have been better
It's not nice to talk about your mom like that.
@@broken927 I say it to her face
that's cold.@@jhumbrac
@@broken927 she knows what she did
lol@@jhumbrac
I feel like as time goes on, Sean and Baxter just become more and more like each other, and I'm expecting that this time next year we'll have fully matching outfits.... and I'm all about it!
Well, you could spend 1400.00 on that original era Trini Lopez, or the same amount on a new Epiphone Dave Grohl... what a conundrum!!
Nice video, some beautiful guitars! Cheers!
It was good to meet you Baxter! I was the guy with a squier strat mini that I was trying to trade.
Great meeting you as well!
$9k for an SGJR?!?!?!?!? Holy hell, what an absurd stretch that is.
Really. Back in 2014 they were $2400. Almost 4 times as much in 10 years. 🤣 I got a 2019 for $850 in new condition from Detroit Guitar a year ago.
Very cool video. Some of the prices were not that bad. Seriously, I'd buy that '76 custom for $4800, and I'm poor.
Those prices are nuts!! At the Toronto guitar show, which is on a single hockey rink, these would all be at least 30-40% higher after conversion.
14 hundred would be great, but it’s 14 thousand!
Alex had that Tom Petty Florida SMILE going on! I have had the pleasure of dealing with him online and he is a great piece of toast!
Sean adds a nice dynamic here. If you guys can afford it, it would be great to see you at some of the other shows together. Love it!
Thanks for making a vid! Love this stuff!
Dude with that hair-do id tell you both to get away from my booth lol holy crap I couldn’t quit watching the hair I missed every guitar in this video
Hey Baxter I almost passed out. That 64' 330 red Gibson single pickup looks just like the one I bought from a friend in 66' payed $300.00 for it excellent shape and I sold it in 70' for $350.00 I hate myself !
Nuts right?!?! Don't pass out please:)
Great tour. Wow. Love the hair and the army jacket, reminds me of my youth.
I love guitar shows, because they show guitars, and I love guitars:) Thanks, guys.
Great to meet you both at this show!
Would Gibson ever consider straitening the head stocks out on a new model, you know like Fender
to do away with the neck breaks??? Just a thought!..........🎸🎶🎶🎶🎶
No, they take to much pride in being a "non-modular" guitar company. 😂❤🎸
They’ve actually done that before on some models, but I love the traditional Gibson headstock!
Funny to see Division Street Guitaris all the way up from NY!
The ES 125 is beautiful
100% Agreed!
ha, that's me standing behind the amp builder at the end. great show as always
Oh, man...those white SG Standards...be still my heart!
I can't believe that Jazz master's are going for that kind of money now. I remember when they were step children to red headed step children..
This all happened during COVID....prices on offsets went through the roof!
just picked up a new Strat from Cream City yesterday. Great shop!!
Sorry I didnt get to meet up with you guys this year, I could only go Sunday.. But always a fun time indeed!
Good tour, thanks from a new subscriber.
Guys! I can't believe you walked past the vintage, red PRS Standard after showing the Rick. Where's the love for 80's PRS?
Funny you mentioned that, we actually talked about that..were going back to reshoot it, and then...we had a nutty show moment happen and it was forgotten...good call though!
I know, I know, you got side tracked talking about movies. :)@@CasinoGuitars
Miss Wonderland plays that semi hollow P90- maybe a smaller body
I would love to go to one of these shows, but there's absolutely no point for me, I was scanning the background and didn't see a single lefty, is it better to have the money but nothing to spend it on, of have all the choice but no money?
It was a lefty desert...agreed there!
I have a 65 gibson es125 tdc in sunburst instead of the cherry burst. Mine has the fixed abr style bridge with nylon saddles instead of the floating bridge. It's a cool guitar and I see it has doubled in price since I bought this one around 10 years ago.
Thanks for the tour. There is just way too much supply in the marketplace for some of these prices. Rare ex+++ and proof instruments the exceptions for true vintage; or the Rock Star instrument.
Nice stuff!
Man this just made me excited for the DIGF this year!
Awesome
It was my first time, but it certainly won't be the last!
Right on!
Awesome video at 4:39 there is a telecaster thin skin body for 2200 1974. Do you know where I can buy that if it's still available? Thank you so much in advance
did I see $5995 for a '76 deluxe? damn! I have a that same guitar from '78 (birth year). I LOVE the cherry burst and mini hums on mine. all original, but missing the pickguard. I'm glad I bought mine when I did!!
Cool video dudes!
Thanks for sharing, the prices on vintage Fenders and Gibson's are just out of control sadly......
and lots of them don't play all that great either ahah!
I'll stick to regular run of the mill Gibsons and I use Warmoth for S and T style axes, they make some really fantastic shit comparable and in some cases even exceeding Fender USA imo.
I really wanted to go. Im only 20 minutes from the show. Had to work!😢😂❤
Noooooooo! That is not fair
knew a friend who stole a 54 strat back in the late 70s from an old man. He took it apart and sanded off the finish before I got over to look at it. It was signed and dated on the neck 8/54 and the serial number was 0720. I about crapped my pants but knew he ruined its value for the most part. He had no clue what he had.
That aged military green jag at 10:00 with the matching headstock and mute is so sick
it used to be ice blue, flash flood of gear are selling it and they have a couple videos on it. I think it’s a 67?
Love the hairdos… Who is the stylist?
I take it with the internet there are no deals to be had at these types of shows? bring money, lots of it? I want American Pickers: Guitar Edition hehe Thanks for the video 🍺🇨🇦
You can haggle but the people selling at these shows know what they got
The Deals were few and far between certainly...
Sean and Alex should form a Super Group! 2 of my favorite channels (Casino and Flash Flood).
"Unobtanium" for thee but not for me. Ha Ha Ha. You probably didn't think about that too long before you said it. Yes, Big Baxter...we know you get a nice paycheck.
When I was in high school so 1978 I had a chance to buy a Gibson ES-175 I think it was that model it was the same model that Ted Nugent played. For $350. I didn’t have enough money but left to go get more. Of course you know what happened while I was gone. They sold it. Of course… that one that got away. The other is a 1974 Gibson Les Paul Standard, ebony. I bought it used for $500. Had it for about 6 or 7 months and sold it for $500. To buy a Telecaster for $500. I don’t remember what happened to the Telecaster but as it turns out I don’t have either one of those two $500. Dollar guitars anymore and wish I woulda kept the LP. It was so good. I also sold a 1984 Marshall JCM800 half stack and should have never sold that. I was dumb when I was younger. Probably still am. lol… Everyhing is priced out of reach now. It’s just ridiculous to see the exorbitant amount of money spent these day on gear. I’ll never be the same…
Who is the amp maker from Asheville? I couldn’t catch his name. Thanks!
Are there many boutique Guitar builders at the shows? I didn’t see as many Telecasters as I thought I might.
Not that many honestly. It was mostly vintage and pre owned
The first guitar show I attended was in 1985, in Oklahoma City. I was surprised that there was an entry fee of $5. Once inside, there was a dealer from Dallas that had two original 1960 Gibson Les Paul Standards with original finishes. However, they had the price listed below them, and wanted a whopping $10,000 each! I told my wife, "That's crazy! No one is going to pay that much for an old guitar, no matter how desirable or rare it might be." Boy, was I wrong! Those guitars are probably worth upwards of $100K or more now. Investment opportunity gone by, but $10K for a guitar in 1985 was an insane high price, to me, and most everyone else. They didn't sell.
60 Standards would probably be 2-300,000 now.
The daphne blue Jaguar is my favorite!
Question: how do they prevent theft? all those guitars sitting out, so many people, seems like a prime setting for a criminal to walk out with a pricey guitar.
Cool amps!
Right?
Walked right past an SC-2 no comment. My old guitar....
👍
Baxter, when is the best time to buy a guitar at a 3 day show?
Some there are corn fed fer sure 🐖 Cheers!
😮
Asheville what? N. Carolina?
If I could afford those vintage guitars, I would have to listen to it. Not all vintage guitars sound good.
C00l❤
Is Baxter into Toronados?
Sign out front - 'CASH FOR GUITARS'
Sign out back - 'cash for your kidneys!'
kiddin'...
Look close in Ashville and you might see the one and only Gordon Skitar in Walnut
- maybe - anyone seen it?
..."State of Asheville"...seriously funny comment.
At 7:11, fourteen HUNDRED dollars? Nope. Thousands. OK, if I've 'explained' your joke, just garrot me with a G string.
Not so sure that 54 strat is completely original.. the saddles aren’t.
Why did Big Baxter say "don't tell my wife I said that", instead of "don't tell mom I said that"?
people are out of their fucking mind asking that much for drip edge bassmans
Please explain how in this economy (aka Bidenflation) any (normal) person can afford any of this stuff? (hit the local pawn shops folks)
Bidenflation try corporate greedflation . Try reading something 😅.
What utter bullshit 😅
mmm Koolaid with sugar is good for you(I read)@@tommacdonald6295
A secret formula called thriftiness.😂
$1,400 for a Triny Lopez is kinda steep? What world do you live in? I think your misread that
No,dont do it, prs dont hold resale value.
And personally , i hate the neck carves, too wide , all of em
I love music….i think I’m saying goodbye to guitars and all things rock and roll. Synthesizers are IN. Do you know according to Google, the last Rock and Roll song to hit #1 was back in 2001, by the disliked band Nickelback! 23 years ago! I don’t think guitars are going to be more important than synthesizers from here in out….23 years ago is antiquity in the music industry. We guitar players are dinosaurs trying to re- erect a kingdom that is no longer a thing.Kinda like Baxters mane or mange...heehee, I'm mean!
Number one songs don’t mean shit. Guitar music is alive, well, and not going away anytime soon. Mainstream popularity is absolutely meaningless.
Oh don't say that...radio doesn't matter like it used to. The young humans are finding and listening to their music in such different ways that the charts can't figure it out. Rock n roll is still strong and alive:)
But God Bless Nickleback as well!
Why buy vintage it's a bad bug!
There is not a guitar on the planet worth $85K....especially one that sold for less than $300 new.
The vintage guitar market is for suckers.
Disagree! 😎
What is up with you guys and your hairstyles? You have taken " wash and wear" to a whole new level. Just because your in the guitar business does not mean you have to go with the most ridiculous look you can come up with. Are you trying to make some kind of a statement? Theres nothing wrong with taking a little pride in your appearance, maybe combing it down or just shave your head my God.
I loved Asheville, before the communist took over............
You are not very smart and clearly do not understand the definition of communism.
a room full of overpriced guitars
they're priced according to what the market will bear
@chilltownking the market consists of people, many people aren't smart, they overpay for invisible qualities, and products become overpriced.
These two might have the worst hair on RUclips.
Over priced and boring
4 years ago, these unelected officials, essential and unessential and here we are again. Festivals, all that...
Let's not do that again mater tater. please
Love yaw!
@04:29 tompetty
Cool
Did you sell a guitar this week?
