Luke never had that problem and he continued getting stronger. Even then he'd still be holding back while Ren goes all out. Rule of 2 era Sith will always have an edge over Jedi swordsmanship, because they imply many techniques and forms the Jedi don't train and have no idea how to defend against. Also, Plagueis a great duelist? According to whom? Tenebrous? Venamis? Sidious? Plagueis didn't really duel that much to be praised that much, Sidious had a hard time beating goddamn Yoda, although he was tired due to fighting Mace but, still, if you think about it, prequels era had not that many prodigies in the way of the saber.

Starkiller would be rather weak compared to most people on the list. Don't get me wrong, he is powerful, but just not THAT powerful and good at duelling. The games made him look stronger than he is. Read the Novel of 'The Force Unleashed' and you'll see that he is not nearly as powerful as he is shown in the game

And even powerful Sith like Sion, Revan, etc. were not that much more powerful thanDooku and Maul (at least, when it comes to lightsaber combat) Most Sith were easily beaten by Republic troopers and can't compete with the likes of Ventress, Maul and Dooku. The average Sith/Dark Side User during the time of the Clone Wars was so much more powerful than the average Sith/Dark Side User during the old republic(Those were essentially on Jedi Padawan Level imo)

Also, Plagueis a great duelist? According to whom? Tenebrous? Venamis? Sidious? Plagueis didn't really duel that much to be praised that much, Sidious had a hard time beating goddamn Yoda, although he was tired due to fighting Mace but, still, if you think about it, prequels era had not that many prodigies in the way of the saber.

Luke will always stay the best as the strongest duelist out there. He's stronger than his father, his fighting style is just too smooth, no aggression, and he can take out multiple opponents at a single time.
Tulak hord should have been first tho, he single handely managed to kill 1000 jedi in the old republic who are all a similar level of force power to plo koon / saesee tin at least

For those who don't know Luke created his own style of lightsaber combat by taking a reinforced style of Form 1 Form 3 Form 4 Form 5 and Form 6 and blending them together Form 5 was actually the foundation or center of the style he created because like all Skywalker's he's gonna have the Form 5

He also created his own lightsaber style that was so unorthodox than every Jedi he came across couldn't match it. He had the strength of a droid with the dueling skills of somebody like Yoda.

@RealDutchBear Indeed. While Vitiate and Palpatine were rather even and compareable, and other high ranking Sith of the old were very powerful, 90% of all ancient Sith were pathetic and weak.
And even powerful Sith like Sion, Revan, etc. were not that much more powerful thanDooku and Maul (at least, when it comes to lightsaber combat)
Most Sith were easily beaten by Republic troopers and can't compete with the likes of Ventress, Maul and Dooku.
The average Sith/Dark Side User during the time of the Clone Wars was so much more powerful than the average Sith/Dark Side User during the old republic(Those were essentially on Jedi Padawan Level imo)
