I've owned this saw for about 6 months with semi-daily use. Absolutely no issues and very little fence calibration was needed. Can't beat it for the money. I don't seem to have nearly as many issues out of the box as you did here.
Glad to hear it worked well for you! In the end I can only show you one example of a product and the question is, is it just mine or all of them. Thanks for sharing your experience and for watching!
@@jsully4074 Absolutely... I got the red Skil thanks to Mike's review and two other well known channels. And I'm very happy with it. If I had a few more dollars and didn't need other tools, I would have went with either the Skilsaw Worm drive (the silver one Mike pulls out) and if I had a few more bucks above that, the DeWalt 7491. I got the Skil table saw and dual bevel mitre 10" for the price of the Skilsaw. I also needed a mitre, if the mitre wasn't needed, Skilsaw.
So I just bought this for $299 inside track club (265 after CC earnback and Birthday coupon) looked for an unboxing video, watched yours and said "oh crap what have I done". Since there is a restock fee on this item and I had opened the box I thought I might as well set it up and look for myself. First, your unit was defective, the bevel should lock fine as mine did and the store models did out of the box without adjustment. I'd have taken it back. My saw had virtually none of the issues you had with yours. Mine is a very good saw at a hard to beat price point for a rack and pinion fence table saw. It is unfortunate that many will miss out now on a really good deal because a reviewer got a lemon.
Glad to hear the saw worked out well for you! FYI I did return this and wasn't charged a restocking fee, I did tell them it was defective though. Thanks for watching!
@@ProjectsForAllReviews My saw had the same issue with the riving knife, but i didn't realize it until well after the sham 90-day warranty was over. For cuts with the knife all the way up, it does seem to have plenty of power.
I typically recommend people watch some review videos before purchasing things. This one changed the way I see youtube review videos. If you like this saw and are interested in it, you definitely gonna dig more into different reviews. Then you will find it's very easy and straightforward to calibrate the blade. I found most of the good reviews about this saw are from people who really use it daily and had it for a while and have some experience with it. The instruction may suck if they don't mention how to calibrate it but will it stop you make a purchase? I don't think so. Dewalt 10" is 550 before tax most time, I got this one for 319 before tax, and this one is still a lot cheaper for me. Will this $200 difference make a huge difference? Probably not, they are all job site table saw not alien technology, I found this saw very solid and cut very well, and the blade it attached is very good too! I like most of the videos from him, but this one makes me think more since it's very different from my experience. For a table saw, if you are really interested in it you need to watch videos that tell you their experience and tricks about the saw, not an "open box" review. I am not blaming or criticizing the channel, this is a good channel, but like most of the RUclipsr that just do reviews about products, they can't use it for too long, not to mention this is a table saw not a trash can, most of the time they open it, play with it a couple days or even one afternoon, then started preparing the video, it's just what it is I think, nothing wrong, but if you really like it, dig into it more and just purchase it, it's pretty good and price reasonable since they have sales very often. Actually, I recommend all Hercules wired tools, I found them solid and price friendly.
The skil ts6307 is cheaper than the hercules and it probably a better saw too. More and easier adustments, including for the riving knife, and an integrated stand. The cut width indicator is much easier to read as well. The only problem is that the push stick is in the bottom of the front face, so it's a little hard to reach when you're making a cut. You should use an aftermarket push stick anyway so it shouldn't matter at that point, but that's a consideration.
BLADE ADJUSTMENT...You can adjust the blade run out on the HERCULES 10 inch table saw (HE77). I adjusted mine and now it makes very precise and square cuts.....Take a look at the video that I have to show how. Written instructions below and in the description of my video. For BLADE ADJUSTMENT....underneath the saw table there are 2 allen head bolts at each end of the blade carriage (underneath the front and rear of the table saw). Loosen all 4 bolts very lightly, they need to be more than finger tight but no so tight that it will not allow movement. Then loosen to finger tight one of the allen head bolts on the saw carriage where you want to make adjustment and then use a large screwdriver to gently pry the carriage to the left or right as needed for adjustment of your saw while checking the blade run out compared to the miter slots. It took me a while to get mine set but it is worth it..makes precise square cuts now.
You paid $400?! I paid $295 and love it for what it is. Better than $700 DeWalt for essentially the same saw. My next table saw will be a Harvey 4HP cabinet for about $2,300. Very solid machines.
@@ProjectsForAllReviews I paid $250 when it first came out. I'm on my second one cause a buddy of mine broke a piece of the fence on my first gen, I went in seeing if I could get exchange my fence with a display model but they ended up giving me this 2nd gen. I miss my first gen, it felt more solid than this one. The feet were solid rubber not cheap plastic, the bevel stayed in place it didn't slide out when you loosen the lock (btw yours seems loose), the fence lock didn't snap open it was a nice tight action, the shroud on the bottom of the blade was metal not plastic and the dust port was I think a full 4" because I remember having to duct tape my ridgid vacuum to the port. They are good jobsite saws, as long as the blade is good they don't bog down. Riding mounts and unmount quickly for those peculiar cuts.
my wife and i have been building our dream home of 2400sqf for the last 2 year's the entire frame is LVL the floors- roof- doors and door frame's are all 3/4 marine plywood 78k in lumber we built it with this hercules table saw and the Chicago electric sliding chop saw with no problems. it doesn't matter what class of jobsite table saw you buy they are all made in China and come out of the same factory and depending on what brand they are making them for you could pay up to 100 dollar's more per inch on the rip capacity and still your only gonna get a certain amount of hours of run time out of them it's that simple. after building a 2400sqf home they are tired so if you are a contractor your getting new saws every year if your a handyman every 3-5 and if your a DIYer they will last you a life time.
Yup i am with you, its not the tool but the person using it. Years ago i bought a CE miter saw for short money because wasn’t sure how much I’d use it but was building a shed. Use it with great success for about 5 years making accurate cuts, did i need to check and spend a but more time making sure accurate yes but i find myself still checking on my new nice miter. You give me this saw and DeWalt i guarantee i will get the same accuracy put of both. I have bought some expensive tools, own several DeWalt and guess what i always find something that is cheap on all of them. My DeWalt drill driver smells of burnt electronics every time I use it and to be honest I like my Kobalt better. For the price there is nothing wrong with this saw but people feel the need to carry yellow or red tools, it just makes them good about themselves. And for all you pro’s that come on and say “this wont last to everyday use and abuse of a jobsite”. Have you used it found that guessing no.
I think this saw would be fine as a jobsite saw. There are a lot of hobbyist that buy a jobsite saw instead of a cabinet saw because they don't have the room or budget for a cabinet saw. I don't think this saw would work well in that application.
I've been using this saw for over a year and it's been rock solid. Ive used other brands including DeWalt and this holds it's 16:00 own against others. Is it the best? No, but neither are others I've tried at a higher price point. I agree the manual is garbage. This saw does not support Datos at all but for me I don't do Datos. I know it's a normal thing to pick on HF cause believe me, there are some items there I will not purchase. But to get a honest review on some items it should be used over a period of time to get an honest review. But this saw was a good fit for me.
It’s basically the Dewalt. The Dewalt is rock solid why would this be any different? All saws should be checked for accuracy out of the box. The Dewalts angle lock unlocks just as easy. The only downside for me is the price. If HF sells it, it should be half the cost of what its cloning.
I'm a behavior analyst (meaning I'm smart in all the wrong ways). I just bought this table saw and you taught me so much I didn't even know I needed to know. Trying to develop a new hobby and make myself some things. Thank you!
It is super crazy, I was just looking in to these table saws and was wondering if you had done a review of them yet, and then a few hours later this popped up. It is like you were reading my mind. Keep up the great work! Your tool reviews are my favorite on YT and is very helpful to a beginner DIY'er like myself.
I’ve heard nothing but “harbor freight is stepping into the pro ring with Hercules” for months now. I’m glad someone actually gave an honest review of this saw. It gets a lot of love for some reason lol. Great video Mike! I appreciate the honesty.
in your opinion, what jobsite table saw is the EASIEST to set up/calibrate to get the blade fence miter slots miter gauge and table top all adjusted correctly and square with each other?
I like your review. First you sound literate, far too many people are not. You were likely to ruffle some folks' furs, but I like that you put measurements to what you say, as if you were saying "if you don't believe, go and check for yourself". I have used wood working machinery for some seventy years by now. To me it does not matter which machine you give me, I will make it work. I still have all my fingers, and woodworking is not my living. Please, continue doing the good work. Bloke from Aus.
Thank you for the review! I'm a home DIY'r & have been wanting a table saw for YEARS! I'm comfortable enough now to take on learning a new tool like this. I try to start out with a lesser priced tool before I invest alot of money. I'm definitely going to check out Skil's table saw. I have the router and have been pleased. Thx again! 😃👍
So it seems to me like you got a bad one out of the batch. I got curious and went to check mine. I had none of the issues you seemed to have from yours. You are correct that the instructions are trash and as an out of the box reviewer in this case I feel like you did a good job explaining it like someone getting their first table saw. I’d love to see an updated review exploring some of the potential fixes of the issues you have had because it seems like anything that could be wrong was wrong.
I just saw a way to get a dado in there. remove the pull lever that locks the shaft for you to loosed the nut. than trim down the large inner washer so it gives you a slightly longer shaft. next find another washer for the end nut and do not use the end washer. weld the washer to the nut. that might give you enough length for a proper dado. why HF didn't just give use an extra half inch of shaft makes no sense. also i just saw videos on how to use just the main blade without needing a dado. I'll look into both and see whats better
I agree! I’m fixing on buying one when it goes back down to 299! Once I trim down both washers I will be able to fit 3/4 dados! 299 is better than 650 for DEWALT!
I'm a newbie (senior newbie) to table saws and woodworking in general. After much internet research (reviews mostly) and looking at table saws at HD, Lowes and HF, I actually bought this saw. I havent used it yet, but I've toyed around with it for a few hours. The saw I have doesnt have the issues that yours does, and as far as the blade tightening goes, the manual states in caps DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN. I don't know enough about these to understand why. I'd certainly agree with you that the manual is badly lacking in detail and a couple of the drawings are very bad. I plan on bolting it to a mobile stand. We'll see how it goes. Thanks. Oh...I think I paid less than $300 for it.
I saw your video on the skill table saw not too long ago. I'm curious how you feel between the harbor freight table saw and the skill table saw? Which would you recommend? And why?
I have high hopes for the outcome of this vid. FWIW, I have the Bauer 10" sliding miter saw which is mechanically exactly the same as the $500 Jet. it's 100% adjustable in all parts and ranges, it holds its adjustment, and it's well built. I hope that to see that better-than-they-used-to-be quality carry through into this product. My Hercules drills and drivers are 100% on par with my Makitas.
I have Bauer drill / driver, circular saw and I have no problem with any of them. Actually on par with the other brands but I think Hercules missed the mark here on this specific saw in this price point but I agree, I typically haven't had issues with Bauer / Hercules
I am looking at Harbor Freight web page right now, and the price of this particular table saw is $379.99! If you get a coupon for it is, $299.99! I am in California, so I have trouble accepting the price you say you payed for yours sorry! I had a Dewalt table saw and had to replace the motor $327.98. I dug into it, and found out that it was a MFG known problem. It goes to show you that Dewalt is very crappy and deceiving! Over all In my opinion, this was not a good/fair review because you were leaning against it from the beginning, one could tell. I am not saying by this, that Hercules table saw is an excellent piece of equipment it is not, but why do something like this knowing what the end is going to be? X X X X X!
All those "useless pages" of the manual actually provides all the info that you found out eventually. The fella with the engineering degree that put that red lever beside the blade did so for a good reason. It will be standard on all mid-range worksite table saws beginning in 2026. (I literally wrote the book on it as a Technical Writer)
There is some useful basic safety info in those first pages but mostly a lot of legal liability items. Manual: manuals.harborfreight.com/manuals/57000-57999/57673-193175420909.pdf. I have three other table saws in the shop now with that lever arbor lock design. Two Skilsaws and the new Bosch. All work perfect both locking the arbor and releasing. Not sure if the guy with the engineering degree flubbed the tolerances on the Hercules or if it's on the QC side but this one was very hard to lock and tough to unlock. Any reason this design is favored over the old two wrench design? Just curious. Thanks for watching!
I have this saw and have had it for 2 years i love it mine was calibrated perfect i use it almost every day ripping down ruff cut oak and it does way better than the skile saw can and . I have killed 2 skile saws in the same time they are junk
There's a few glowing reviews from viewers on this saw. I don't dispute you got a good one. I wish I could have shown the same though. Thanks for watching!
I've had mine for 2 years as well. No complaints. Dialed in perfectly. I didn't have the issue with the bevel lock, but that too can be adjusted if necessary.
Making a custom washer/nut is an extra expense and effort. Perhaps better to know the capability or lack-of-capabilty and compare with one's criteria check-list? :-)
My takeaway is that it’s not really designed for a WORK table saw. But it’s okay for a hobbyist? Like, my husband isn’t a carpenter by trade but every once in a while we do some light home improvement projects ourselves. It should work for that. Hope so, because we already bought one.
I read in other comments you returned the saw as it was defective. Ive been using this saw for almost two years now and it cuts straight. Shame you got a bad one.
It took me a while to get mine set but it is worth it..makes precise square cuts now.
Enjoy your comprehensive reviews. Video quality is excellent but audio not so much....not sure why your audio is basically not very loud (even at full volume) at best and inconsistent as sometimes drifts to unintelligible at worst.
Oof that's unfortunate! I really do think Hercules has upped their game, but since this saw is at least 4 years old, I think it might be "old Hercules". Their new brushless hand tools that were released within the year seem to all be well regarded. I picked up the impact driver to start and have nothing bad to say, it's a powerhouse. But thanks to your review, I'm fine with my red Skil, it's so capable for the price and is running a full kerf combo CMT no problem. Skil is actually a good comparison to Hercules, not well liked in the past but have upped their game recently. Keep it up Mike!
I've been super impressed with Skil lately....a few months ago I picked up the PWR20 brushless recip saw and that thing is a monster. Just recently also picked up that cheap $59 Skil circular saw with the laser and even with the stock crappy blade it did pretty dang good so far. As far as DIY stuff goes, I think Skil is pretty great so far.
Actually this saw was redone by HF about a year or two ago and isn't the original saw from 4 years ago. The original didn't have the rack & pinion fence and is a bit different. This one was supposedly much better. I am very glad I went with the Dewalt instead since I was leaning heavily towards the Herc. So far the Hercules 12" sliding miter I have is great and was perfectly dead on 90 out of the box. No idea how long it will hold up but for $299 on sale I am happy.
I agree Rock the Hercules is probable a competitor of Skils based on price. Unfortunately this ones not ready for prime time but definitely a move in the right direction for HF. Were definitely going to do the Hercules new brushless tools and the miter saw! Hopefully with better results!
@@ProjectsForAllReviews Oh for sure, that will be a good series of Herc brushless hand tools. Even if they're on par with Milwaukees or Makitas, both the tools and batteries are so much cheaper!
I'm glad you reviewed this saw with a figurative fine-toothed comb. :-) Nice to see details that may be overlooked with a casual examination while on the display shelf. It would seem the manufacturing design and production could benefit from leveling-up to a higher quality standard. Is it intended for building cabinets? Perhaps not. But, as you've revealed, there are enough flaws in this gem to lower its value-for-the-money. Thanks for sharing your experience. :-)
P.S. I bought a Kobalt portable saw, a few years ago. I'm a casual D.I.Y.-er, with a small amount of work-space. While the Kobalt's fence isn't the best, the rest of the saw is decent and it comes with a built-in stand. Clamping the fence down is a common solution to the fence's flaw(s). Again, thanks.
Goodness...I thought it was just me not liking this saw. Looked at it at HF and took a pass. HB fan boys will no doubt object. Love reading the comments. Great vid Mike
Honestly I expected a lot of backlash on this one but the comments were very civilized. Was hoping to be pleasantly surprised by this saw but didn’t happen. We’ll get more Hercules to test soon. Thanks for watching!
I was thinking about buying this but not now. So thank you and i hope you look at the Menards Masterforce 10 inch table saw. It looks like a good one for 494.84 now was over 500..
Ive seen that Masterforce saw at Menards. I was a little put off by the price honestly but you never know it could be awesome. Well get to it eventually. Thanks for watching!
@@ProjectsForAllReviews just watched ur review on the skill 15 amp 10 inch table saw u seemed to really rate this one so on the strength of ur review looked for a stockist and price for it in the UK it’s over £700 sterling over here which is way pricier than what u guys can pick it up for at that price it a bit out of my range shame cos the way u enthused for it Well , u sold it to me
Harbor Frieght has improved its tools, especially in motor. Thanks for your review. Probably won't go to a new smaller saw . difference between cost of handyman tools and what is needed over time. It appears that the plastic is its downfall. Thanks for reviewing this in a straight forward manner.
i just set up this saw, I smelled an electrical or plastic burning smell that I can smell each time I start the saw. did you notice this too? I can't tell where it's coming from and I removed all the Styrofoam
You are overly concerned about being able to tighten the blade with out the arbor unlocking moving I talked to a rep and turns out it is designed in this way so you don’t over tighten the the arbor nut and make it so hard to get off when needed due to blade rotation
Hello! For the record I make a real effort to avoid any negativity in the comment section so if this come across that way I apologize. That said. What your telling us is a a HF rep told you they designed this arbor lock mechanism to work poorly because us, the end users, and people standing in front of the spinning blade cannot be trusted not to over torque the arbor nut!?! Have that HF rep email me, I would LOVE to talk with them.
All the job saws I’ve reviewed here have been 90-96 dB. All universal motor small saws are about the same. My induction motor Delta is about 80-85 dB. It’s a stark difference and makes the big saw a pleasure to use. If you get a portable saw expect to use hearing protection. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!
The ONLY reason I chose the DEWALT DWE7491RS over this model, is the Dewalt has a long enough arbor to accommodate a dado set. The HE77 doesn't. Big fan of Hercules products but this one needs to take a dado set to get it to next level.
Wow I wish I knew all of these insights before I bought this awful saw in late 2022. It was before the new low cost Skil was out and I thought I was getting a bargain because it looked so similar to the much more expensive DeWalt with that new fence design. I was so disappointed when I realized the dado stack I bought wouldn't fit at all, and then I discovered that my riving knife was bent as well (which means that the Grrripper safety pusher I bought won't work and other cuts with the riving knife lowered are impossible because the bent knife blocks the wood when it's in the down position). This is the tool purchase that I regret the most in the last few years . . .
I wonder how many people use a dado stack in these portable table saws? I've never felt the need, or ever wanted to try...I've used a dado stack on my old Ridgid TS3612 a few times, but it seems like the time it takes to swap from the standard blade, to a dado stack I could have the dado already done LOL. Probably some people who do these things all the time would be quite a bit faster, but I don't swap blades very often at all, so its quite time involved for me HAHA!! I have the regular Skil portable table saw with the folding legs type stand, the TS6307 model. It works great, and honestly isn't too bad for the price. I'd love one of those Skil worm drive table saws though. I don't see $400+ in that Hercules saw....I had an old Chicago Electric branded table saw from HF, that thing was a joke all around...you may as well skip the fence and miter gauge because neither were accurate...the motor/arbor bearings, I think they forgot those and it was extremely loud too. Back then I think it was like $100 for that saw, and at that price it was about $80 too much LOL. Glad to know they're not much better now. I have a couple of the Chicago Electric Miter Saws which have proven to be much better, and at least several adjustments to get them to be accurate....most people don't bother taking the time to do any adjusting of them, and complain they're not accurate...well they're typically not out of the box, but at least they have instructions on how to adjust them LOL...unlike that $400 table saw.
While I grant that the Chicago Electric portable table saw from Harbor Freight isn't the best, I also know my Dad purchased one and put it to good use in 2016. My Wife and I had just bought a home and my Dad generously volunteered to fix a number of cosmetic and weather-tight issues with it, primarily with the exterior window framing. He used the saw to cut sections of PVC and replace pieces of rotting wood. My Dad bought a multi-thousand dollar table-saw for his basement, and he had the $$ to get what he wanted when it came to shopping for tools. But, for whatever reason, he felt the low-budget Chicago Electric was good enough to use as a jobsite saw for commuting to our home and working out of the back of a pick-up truck. Essentially, he made it work good-enough for his purposes. I've since purchased a Kobalt portable jobsite table-saw for my own casual D.I.Y. purposes. Not the best? Sure. The fence is the achilles heel of it, but the rest is okay in my opinion. Clamping the fence down solves the drifting fence concern, though. My work-space is small, so rolling the saw outside is how I gain work-space for my projects. Everyone has their own criteria. :-)
@@libraeotequever3pointoh95 I had a Chicago Electric Table saw...it didn't last long, the bearings in the arbor failed after a few years...but it served its purpose at the time, of a throw it in the truck to go to job sites, and didn't want to risk having a nice saw stolen.
great review Mike. i bought the skill after watching your videos and very happy with my purchase. everything is adjustable on it. i havent tried the dewalt but i can't imagine it's much better than the skil for 250 less. looks like the hercules is junk unless it comes perfect out of the box
That's too bad, HF has been doing really well with the Hercules line and its disappointing that the table saw doesn't meet the standard they are creating or that it doesn't even match up with the competition in price or quality. Good job.
One of these days, you're gonna unbox some $300 table saw, the miter gauge isn't gonna be crap, and the camera's gonna break from when you jump back in shock and knock it over.
Interesting. Still leaning towards the 10" Skil worm drive table saw. Seems to have enough torque for the 40T Amana Blu blades and can run an 8" dado stack.
@@ProjectsForAllReviews Awesome! Since there's no HP rating and Izzy Swan recommends a 2 HP motor for the Amana 40T blades, would love to see your take on if the Skil can run a blade like that without bogging down. People are praising the torque of the worm drive. (trying hard to make a Dune reference but falling short)
I'm looking for a budget table saw , seen all your vids , everyone has an issue with one thing or another so can anyone or yourself suggest a good table saw plzzzzzz
If i were looking for an actual jobsite saw, this would be okay. That said, i don't see where its better than the Skill tablesaw which is in the same price range and a better build quality.
Yep I should have double checked before I hit upload. Must have just changed back. Sorry bad info. I’ll probabaly edit the vid. Thanks for telling me and for watching!
Keep an eye out, it seems Dewalt is often on sale at Home Depot & Lowes. Both had it for $550 when I went to buy one and got a 10% military discount on top of that so was sub $500 for me. Almost went with the Herc but since I was unsure if it took a Dado I passed and am very glad I did. I think the Skil 3607 is the clear winner for the money. Menards had/has it for $300 and with their always running 11% rebate that is $267. I just really liked the feel of the Dewalt better and with the sale and discount decided to go that way. But I think that Skil is probably a better deal for most people doing weekend woodworking.
Glad I saw this. The stand is 200. I just bought that 300 buck Skil. and I bought the 10 Skil miter saw. Hercules was my other choice. I liked the Skil the first time I saw it. I was pretty sure I made the right choice, after seeing this I know I did! Thanks!!!
Used to own the earlier model with the Bosch style fence, it was ok....own the red skil now and love it...use it daily at pro capacity....no hiccups!!! Even the Milwaukee guys like it
You do have to spend some time setting the saw up... blade, fence, etc. But once done, the saw is great. Fairly compact which is Nice ruclips.net/user/postUgkxXh-4_3-ZT1fFWP91ZV7iVqzElr0lEb-a I did get an Incra Miter Gauge which takes some setup as well. The stock miter gauge can be adjusted in the miter slot with a little painter's tape... this tightens up the side to side play a lot.
From the looks features and form factor it looks like they tried to copy/ compete with the dewalt dwe7485 (the smaller 8 1/4" table saw which I own). It's priced kind of similar as well. Just seems like they lacked the engineering and or manufacturing capabilities to make a finished product worth the money. The lack of adjustment alone is quite telling, as even if it was super complex and hard to do at least it would show they thought about it. So much for them trying to go into "professional tools market".
Three table saws of the many we have reviewed had do not buy conclusions. The Vevor, Evolution and this Hercules. All earned that conclusion by having a major component that did not lock securely or straight. For the Hercules it was the bevel lock. Pls refer to the video as I try to show you as clearly as possible what I experienced. Please, please if you own this saw make sure yours does not have this problem before using it. Your safety should always come first.
@@ProjectsForAllReviews if you will go back and watch your other videos, your whole attitude with the others that I have seen is different, you can tell you automatically didn't like this one. Even with the others and their flaws, your attitude was still happy to have them there and have had tried them out, even if you had to buy extra attachments to get it right.... 🤷♂️ just pointing out a discrepancy is all 😂
Great video. I’m about to pull the trigger on a table saw after one too many close calls with my radial arm saw in rip position. I love that beast of a saw, but I can take a hint. I’m now down to the Dewalt 10” or the Skil. I see Festool in my dreams, but I’m afraid that’s where it’ll have to stay…
that blade calibration is less than 2 sheets of paper in difference that is almost nothing when it comes to wood cutting, and i feel we are being a tad unfiar to the saw here
Lame review! No adjustments - not true. You can adjust blade so it's in parallel to the miter gauge slots the same way as you would do with DeWalt. Just because owner manual does not say anything about it that doesn't mean it's not possible. Reviewer should have done a better research. Skill saw (not a warm drive version) that he recommends over Hercules has plastic gears that run on metal gears. Blade bevel lock mechanism, mine was as tight out of the box as his after the adjustment. I've had that saw for over two years and never had an issue with blade bevel lock mechanism, it stays locked. Does DeWalt have the same thing with blade bevel lock mechanism? Rack and pinion fence is not smooth - put some oil on its tracks and it will be smooth. Seems like reviewer is biased against harbor freight tools or Hercules brand, or Skill Saw company paid him more for the review. He didn't say anything about plastic gears on Skill Saw when he did Skill Saw review.
@danielroy8411 when is a knockoff considered its own thing? All of today's table saws can be considered a knockoff since the original patent was in 1777.
Pretty disappointing. Harborfreight has some tools that are passable especially if you just need them for one small personal job. And they won't get much use after that. Checked this out thinking maybe, maybe they make a half decent table saw. I can skip team red and get this. Nope nope nope. Going with either the Milwaukee, Skill or Dewalt. I'm going to have to lug my table saw up some small sketchy and very old basement stairs. So I'm really leaning more towards the Milwaukee. I already have M18 stuff. They have a bundle that comes with the stand, 12amp Highoutput, and charger for $730 seems like a decent bundle/investment. I don't think I want to try to wrangle that Dewalt or Skill up those stairs. I'm really trying to stop giving team red my paychecks.
I was hoping for a better result on this one. Always excited to find another good budget tool but wasn't to be. Ive actually never used the Milwaukee so I can't comment but hopefully we will get to it soon. The smaller Skilsaw or red Skil may be good options as the stands are small and light for those. Good luck and thanks for watching!!!
I appreciate your review. However, I can clearly see you definitely received a defective product. I just bought mine for $299 being a HF member. Did my inspection, and it works perfect, Out the box! Powerful! However, I wish the rip was longer... but for $299 + tax. No complaints here! I don't need wheels, so I don't need the Dewalt (DWE7491RS). I would have liked it hold a dadoes blade set. But for $299 No complaints. I'll just use my router which cuts dadoes cleaner anyway. In comparison to other models with no wheels and inferior cheap blades but higher cost, you will not find the same $299 price point and quality in the market as of today. If you want wheels/mobility, and 32-1/2 Inch Rip capacity, then buy the Dewalt (DWE7491RS) built in Taiwan. Most people rip long lengths with a tract saw anyway. So, for me this Hercules table saw is a slam dunK! and its perfect for my garage shop with the 40 tooth Hercules blade that cuts like a beast. I will also add that I have been a HF fan for decades and have seen the HF BAUER and HERCULES PRO contractor line get distributed to market. I own different types of equipment from both lines and none of them have broken on me for the last few years. Imo, the HERCULES line is equal or better to DEWALT table saws without wheels, apples to apples and other manufactures but much less expensive. Customers need to go buy and use HERCULES LINE to be convinced of the quality, performance and the good price point they provide. The days are OVER when you need to spend more to purchase the same foreign quality-built products. Thanks to good competition like HF HERCULES we have more options at better prices. If you guys go to the link for HF reviews on this HE77 Hercules model, you will see 96% percent of customers recommended this table saw with 478 customers giving it 5 perfect stars with only 11 (1) star reviews as of March 10th, 2024 and that's not including the thousands of customers who don't even make the time to post their honest review. Thanks, Retired Project Manager. Thanks for sharing your experience with this saw. I agree, probably too many good online reviews for what I showed to be the norm. As far as value goes I still feel the Skil TS6307-00 is a little better with its small dado capacity and both bench top use or legs for around the same price. We should be doing the Kobalt very soon too and that's also in this budget range. Thanks for watching!!
@@ProjectsForAllReviewswhich saw do you think is better? This one in the video or the SKIL 10 inch saw with built in stand?
Thanks for watching!
this reviewer is a hack
Good advise BIGplant! Thanks for watching!
You paid $400?! I paid $295 and love it for what it is. Better than $700 DeWalt for essentially the same saw. My next table saw will be a Harvey 4HP cabinet for about $2,300. Very solid machines.
No, $400 is regular price, I paid $320-350 on a coupon. Glad it worked well for ya, thanks for watching!
Yeah ,long use, then review ,not just out of the box…. Omg
Yeah ,long use, then review ,not just out of the box…. Omg
Glad to hear yours worked out well for you! Thanks for watching!
It’s basically the Dewalt. The Dewalt is rock solid why would this be any different? All saws should be checked for accuracy out of the box. The Dewalts angle lock unlocks just as easy. The only downside for me is the price. If HF sells it, it should be half the cost of what its cloning.
Great video Mike I appreciate you always do such a Thorough and assembling review of the tools.
Thanks as always for watching Michael!!
Hands down you do the best tool reviews! Would love to see you review the Hercules 12in miter saw. Lots of good reviews.
Thanks Snowboarder! That Hercules miter saw and the new drill/driver are on my short list. Thanks for watching!

Glad to hear the vid helped! Thanks for watching!!
What a joke!
Glad I came across this video. Was debating between the skil and hercules tablesaw. Looks like I'm sticking to the skils
For the money you can’t beat the Skil. I have bought two now and they both have been excellent. Thanks for watching!
I’ve heard nothing but “harbor freight is stepping into the pro ring with Hercules” for months now. I’m glad someone actually gave an honest review of this saw. It gets a lot of love for some reason lol. Great video Mike! I appreciate the honesty.
Ive heard the same and I was definitely expected this review to go another way. In the end I can only show you what's there. Thanks for watching!
@@ProjectsForAllReviews Some of their things (12" SCMS, eg) are excellent. But most still are sub-par, like this. Thank you, Mike!
in your opinion, what jobsite table saw is the EASIEST to set up/calibrate to get the blade fence miter slots miter gauge and table top all adjusted correctly and square with each other?
Thx again! 😃👍
Seems like the calibration over 3 spines is key! Thank you for the video!
Love your honesty Mike. Another great review.
Thanks Joey!
i have mine mounted on the powertec table saw stand . stores verticaly withe the table saw attached. very moble.
Yeah man. You convinced me that there are too many challenges and limitations for the price tag. Thx for saving me!
Where can you get the replacement arbor lock for the blade?
Thanks, Mike. You saved me a bunch of money and plenty of heartache. I'm going to find some reviews of the Skil wormdrive now.
Good luck with the new saw Scotty!
Hope it works well for you David! Thanks for watching!
Great video thanks again for your honesty as always.
I saw your video on the skill table saw not too long ago. I'm curious how you feel between the harbor freight table saw and the skill table saw? Which would you recommend? And why?
Thanks for the honest review and opinions
Glad you liked the vid! Thanks for watching!
Great review and i really love mine. Accurate and easy to use. I like the safety switch.
Thanks for watching!
hEY MAN, i REALLY LOVE YOUR VIDEOS, i HAD LEARNED A LOT AND SAVED MONEY AND PRECIOUS TIME gby ! 🏆🏆🏆

Can you do a review on the Hercules Dual Bevel Miter Saw?
I have this saw and have had it for 2 years i love it mine was calibrated perfect i use it almost every day ripping down ruff cut oak and it does way better than the skile saw can and . I have killed 2 skile saws in the same time they are junk
There's a few glowing reviews from viewers on this saw. I don't dispute you got a good one. I wish I could have shown the same though. Thanks for watching!
I've had mine for 2 years as well. No complaints. Dialed in perfectly. I didn't have the issue with the bevel lock, but that too can be adjusted if necessary.
You could make a custom washer/ nut with a metal lathe.
Making a custom washer/nut is an extra expense and effort.
Perhaps better to know the capability or lack-of-capabilty and compare with one's criteria check-list? :-)
I was going to buy this one but after reviews looks like the Skill is a better value, Thanks for the heads up!
By twisting the blade while pulling on the Sri or lock till you find the right spot that lever will pull all the way back and lock into place
I did get it to lock a few times by doing that, maybe it's just mine. Thanks for watching!
My takeaway is that it’s not really designed for a WORK table saw. But it’s okay for a hobbyist? Like, my husband isn’t a carpenter by trade but every once in a while we do some light home improvement projects ourselves. It should work for that. Hope so, because we already bought one.
was wondering about this one
-now i know thx
Very nice review much appreciated
Thanks for watching Nick!
am I the only one who saw that blade straight up drop a half inch when he jiggled the handle? Quality.
Very helpful, thanks a lot.
I'm writing from Japan By the way.
Can it used dado?
I read in other comments you returned the saw as it was defective. Ive been using this saw for almost two years now and it cuts straight. Shame you got a bad one.
I tried it once before i bought the 7491. The fence was misaligned.
I've always wondered and now I know, Hercules has got along ways to go to improving their table saws ! No adjustments WTF!
BLADE ADJUSTMENT...You can adjust the blade run out on the HERCULES 10 inch table saw (HE77). I adjusted mine and now it makes very precise and square cuts.....Take a look at the video that I have to show how. Written instructions below and in the description of my video.

Nice to see details that may be overlooked with a casual examination while on the display shelf.
Thanks for watching!

i just set up this saw, I smelled an electrical or plastic burning smell that I can smell each time I start the saw. did you notice this too? I can't tell where it's coming from and I removed all the Styrofoam
Not sure. Mine had its problems but a burning smell wasn’t one of them. I would probably consider returning it. Good luck and thanks for watching!
Thanks man for sharing , I am looking for a small table saw with less noise than the others , any suggestions ? Thanks and keep up the good work .
@@ProjectsForAllReviews Thanks a lot .
Cant use this in Britain as its 15 amps unless you have a 16amp supply.

This is the tool purchase that I regret the most in the last few years . . .
yine harika bir iş çıkarmışsın, güzel bir tanıtım teşekkürler.
Beğendiğine sevindim! İzlediğiniz için teşekkürler!
Next time I will go with a brand you can get parts for! Can't even get a spare miter gauge with Harbor Freight....
Thanks for watching!
great review Mike. i bought the skill after watching your videos and very happy with my purchase. everything is adjustable on it. i havent tried the dewalt but i can't imagine it's much better than the skil for 250 less. looks like the hercules is junk unless it comes perfect out of the box
Thanks Matt, glad to hear the Skil worked out well for you. This one was a little disappointing for sure. Thanks for watching!
That's too bad, HF has been doing really well with the Hercules line and its disappointing that the table saw doesn't meet the standard they are creating or that it doesn't even match up with the competition in price or quality. Good job.
Thanks for watching!
One of these days, you're gonna unbox some $300 table saw, the miter gauge isn't gonna be crap, and the camera's gonna break from when you jump back in shock and knock it over.
LOL!!! I'm holding my breath. Thanks for watching Frank!
Your arm at 15:08. Your skin bunches up. If your skin can do that, it's a handy trait to have, because it's a little harder to get seriously injured.
I'm laughing, wife says it's just the fingers on your other hand.
Lol!!! For some reason when I workout only my wrists get buff!
I held my wrist with my right hand to try and show only my finger was pushing it! lol!! Thanks for watching!
Interesting. Still leaning towards the 10" Skil worm drive table saw. Seems to have enough torque for the 40T Amana Blu blades and can run an 8" dado stack.
Yep still have the Skilsaw 10 incher in the box. Review in the next few weeks. Thanks for watching!!
@@ProjectsForAllReviews I think you'll like that one, Mike. Looking forward to whatever you say.
I'm looking for a budget table saw , seen all your vids , everyone has an issue with one thing or another so can anyone or yourself suggest a good table saw plzzzzzz
Nothings perfect but IMO of the saws we've reviewed on the channel the Skil TS6307-00 is tough to beat for $300. Good luck and thanks for watching!!
@Projects For All yep I'm looking for that one but I'm in the UK so hard tracking it down fella
If i were looking for an actual jobsite saw, this would be okay. That said, i don't see where its better than the Skill tablesaw which is in the same price range and a better build quality.
That DeWalt is $550? Where?
Great review!
I would build a tree fort with this saw , nothing more
LOl!!
Even the Milwaukee guys like it
Glad to hear they both worked well! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching!
This is a pretty shaky review, a lot of this information is false. These are great saws.
Ouch, you are right, SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!
Thanks for watching
From the looks features and form factor it looks like they tried to copy/ compete with the dewalt dwe7485 (the smaller 8 1/4" table saw which I own). It's priced kind of similar as well. Just seems like they lacked the engineering and or manufacturing capabilities to make a finished product worth the money. The lack of adjustment alone is quite telling, as even if it was super complex and hard to do at least it would show they thought about it. So much for them trying to go into "professional tools market".
I haven't used that DeWALT yet but It looks good, well get to that one eventually. Thanks for watching!
its a portable saw for a reason! if you are serious, get a unisaw or powermatic, this nitpicking is crazy.
Your video on the other saws had just as many "flaws", think you may just not like the name on the side. 🤷♂️
🤷♂️ just pointing out a discrepancy is all 😂
Maybe it was designed for Pine Wood Derby car races🤷🏾
Lol!! Thanks for watching!
i got the skill on sale for $300 and I'm extremely happy with it. So much better than this in every way
I think you made a smart choice Kevin! Thanks for watching!
The Dewalt saw is still better in every way. This is a knock-off, and it shows. I still like the hercules for the price but prefer the Dewalt.
@danielroy8411 he still shit for review that won't change
sir you oughta to put a review out. I was curious about this saw and your comment has not even wanting to watch this review.
@danielroy8411 when is a knockoff considered its own thing? All of today's table saws can be considered a knockoff since the original patent was in 1777.
Yes, the worst part about all these harbor freight tools are the manuals! Complete trash! Otherwise, the tools are solid for their cost
I don’t t know why you tool guys have to make movies. Can we just get some to the point with 5 minutes videos?
@@ProjectsForAllReviews thanks for replying and making great content!
I once had a professor tell me I turned in six pages of bullshit. Maybe I ought to see if HF is hiring?
Lol!!! You and me both Craig!! Thanks for watching!
Hilarante reseña 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I have been in the market for a table saw. You have a bunch apparently. Lol. Wanna sell one?
I’d love too theyre clogging up my shop but I keep them for reference and to make additional vids. Thanks for watching!
It doesn’t live up to its name but as always a perfect review
Thank you Bradley!
Ah yes, the good old fist pound fine tuning 🤣👍
It calibrates the printer at work too! Thanks for watching Michael!
If you could zoom out I want to see the saw . NOT YOUR HANDS AND FINGERS WAVING AROUND AND POINTING AT NOTHING CONTINUOUSLY.
