    As an Automotive tech doing anything from oil changes tire rotations to hauling transmissions suspension work (a minor lift kit or two) axles whatever, i found it did MOST of the work i needed. In the rust belt, anything can be seized or just rusted in. U bolts on trucks, i normally bring out my high torque and even one time with that i needed the torch as they were stuck on. Guy with his 1000 tq air IR gun tried it without heat aswell and it wouldn't come off. I think they're very good guns, not as compact as air tools for the most part but very usefull and i used them as my only impact for a good while, still am. If you're not in a rust belt, i'm sure you could do 99% of anything you want to do no problems easy. Rustbelt...you might need to break a nut or bolt loose first in some situations or step up to a bigger gun, still really nice. They do have a new version coming out in November which just has more power, a little shorter, better lights so....anyone looking at this might want this as its still good or look at the new one

      Good to know man. I heard good things about the high torque but don’t want wanna go overkill since I will be just using for removing lug nuts on my cars

    I own some Milwaukee, but can't get past the average fitting moldings, faded red colour, lack of reliability compared to Makita and scratch receptiveness. I just bought the right angle impact wrench, all excited, and paint wiped off the metal head by just taking it out of the box.

    I feel like I need to go buy the Mid impact just because of your intro. Lol. Thanks.... G.

    Do you find it that it's sometime too big to fit in the wheel area when doing brakes and suspension work? There's a new M18 compact and mid torque version coming out soon. The compact one is as big as the stubby and the mid torque is slighly smaller than your one. About 0.7inch smaller in lenght. *metal music playing in the background* ALSO WITH THAT 600/lbs LOL. This will be my first impact wrench and i just want one to do at least 90% of my automotive diy works with that sweet 600ft/lbs of torque vs 250ft/lbs on the compact. Thank you and keep up with the good job 👍

      No problems with getting the Mid-Torque into the wheel well of my Corolla (which does have annoyingly small working spaces). But then again- I am also not a large person. So I'm able to get into and maneuver into smaller spaces easier than others might not be able to.

    Milwaukee just recently announced a new slightly improved version of this mid torque wrench which improves the LED light, a shortcoming you mentioned and slightly increase the torque ratings (550/650 ft.lbs nut busting). I'm sticking to the current version of course as the improvements are minor.

    • @JeremyY
      @JeremyY  4 года назад

      That's really good to hear. I hope it still busts nuts with NUT. BUSTING. TORQUE.

      No, an it’s like a whole inch shorter maybe more. Definitely a major improvement. Nothing minor about that.everythinf about gen 2 mid torque is way better then the first.

      I did! Mid-torque did the job. EZPZ

  • @slylockfox85
    @slylockfox85 4 года назад +1

    I don't think that "battery life" test is accurate. The impact doesn't use as much energy "load free" as it does when it's hammering on an actual bolt.

    • @JeremyY
      @JeremyY  4 года назад +5

      Everyone knows that the majority of the time spent holding an impact gun is pointing it at things pretending it's a gun and going "pew pew".

    Not sure Milwaukee claim is real on advertising. I have exactly same one, can’t get it to loosen up lugs nuts off Chevy Tahoe. I had to use first use torque wrench “180” lbs. Course damaged one lug nut.

    • @JeremyY
      @JeremyY  3 года назад

      What I'd give for a torque tester so I can verify Milwaukee's 'NuT BuSting TOOORQUE!' claims. Did someone else over-torque your lug nuts? How did you lug nut get damaged? Did the nuts' threading gets chewed up upon removal?
      I had trouble removing my lug nuts (had to use a tire iron + length of pipe) years back. Turns out the tires retailer that I came back from over-torqued the lug nuts big time. One of their employees was LARPing NASCAR Pit Crew and was hitting everyone's lug nuts with his air gun. Cross-threaded my lug nut, which snapped off soon after. Still salty about that. Wondering if that's what happened to your lug nuts? Because at its highest setting (the "3") the Mid-Torque has removed old lug nuts on large SUVs without issue. Not quite the same as your Tahoe, but still large vehicles nonetheless.
