I truely enjoy your 2015 videos ., I do miss parts of 2014 and the low key reviews from 2015 ., Crazy how the perspective of today’s wisdom does not diminish these gems .,I get a duality of benefit. Not only do I get back the cozy feeling that I had watching these 5 years ago. , but I also gain from new focus.
Great review of the Sinn 104 St Sa I ! You inspired me and today I got me this one at German official Sinn dealer. You was absolutely was right, the quality is fantastic. I'm blown away and totally happy with my new acquisition. Thank's a lot for inspiring me.
I adore this watch and thank you TGV for pushing me over the edge to purchase. I now have 6 NATO straps that compliment it perfectly depending on my mood ❤
Been watching the channel for a long time, have had help from people like you and Mark at Long Island, Frederick, Christian, Armand, and many more!!! -just wanted to tell you that you were by far the most helpful at showing watches- so people like myself( someone who's always had a love and appreciation for watches but didn't know much about them) could actually see what one looks and feels like. We all know websites that sell watches have terrible descriptions and pictures-been in love with the sinn 104 sa since first watching your channel-because of all your help and true love and respect for all time pieces-The love for the swatch made me just order the new 2017 white faced dial 104 with indices not numerals-I have never had the jewels to purchase a $1200 watch without actually holding it-but I am beyond thrilled waiting for my new timepiece to be built and sent to me-just wanted to say thank you so much JT- Chicago
You mentioned all the technologies that Sinn has accomplished, but it was ALMOST misleading thinking all of those technologies are in the Sinn 104. I really like this watch because of its aesthetics, ease of fixing, and price point. Thanks for another good video!
I bought this watch yesterday and I absolutely love it! I couldn't make my mind between Sinn 104 and Ball Fireman Enterprise. Finaly I decided to go for the Sinn. For me this piece has everything I was expecting from my new watch. Practical, classy and elegant but - as you said - not flashy :) Astonishing. IMHO - you cannot find better quality in this price range.
I just purchased mine a couple of hours ago in Frankfurt. My first "real" (mechanical) watch. I agree with everything you say. Just a beautiful and wonderfully built timepiece. Thanks for the review and greetings from Germany.
I finally got this watch recently.... same exact model you reviewed... Sinn is where it's at... there entire lineup is amazing, value, style, design... Most of their watches feature, toughen steel, antimagnetic cases, screw down crowns, 200m WR... they make a lineup that you can literally wear anywhere, every day. It's astounding. Interestingly, you got rid of this watch to fund your beloved Navitimer. But I'm IN LOVE with the Sinn Navigator version... It's my goal watch, the 41mm size of that Navigator would be perfection for me... I can't believe you didn't go for it.
The Urban Gentry you did get it again didn’t you 😍 I took my delivery on Wednesday and have just watched these videos (again!!) wearing it 🤗 I know it’s being a bit like a kid again 🤪
I'm always shaking my head why you sold your Sinn. This was my first TGV video and my favorite. This watch gave birth to my horology soul. Probably forever one of my few grail watches.
I have the black dial, the watch beat my expectations and feels on par with my more expensive watches quality wise. The -0.5sec a day accuracy is also amazing
I've bought this watch three times. I've sold it twice to fund buying another watch up the luxury ladder but I keep coming back to this one. I think it's my favorite watch. Ever. I think I'll keep the third one for life.
Great looking piece ;the finishing of the watch case appears outstanding on the screen! Wish there was a place to see them in person here where I live. Great review again, hope to see more of this watch.
John Rycroft Thank you John, I agree completely, shame they don't have these in brick and mortar stores, I will certainly do more videos featuring it. Thanks for the comment as always, Best regards, TGV
Looking at the Sinn website it seems that this is a lower end model and does not feature any special technology like hardened case, u boot steal and dehumidification capsule, etc.. Still a great watch.
Fantastic review, TGV. I've been seriously eyeing Sinns for the last two weeks now as my first "high-end" luxury watch purchase, and your review of the 104 just put me over. I'm going to be ordering one tomorrow; I talked to one of the guys at WatchBuys about it today. BTW, I will be attending their road show next week in San Francisco.
Stephen Scharf Thank you again Stephan. Let me know how it goes with your Sinn, I would be very interested to hear. I hope you said good thing to the people at Watchbuys about me ;-) Thanks for the support, Best regards, TGV P.s. New video up! ;-)
Sinn makes such a well-defined and complete product in design and function. I had a similar experience with my 556i, that it had me contemplating for a minute why I needed anything else. My 556i remains the most GADA watch in my collection.
Seriously considering buying this watch after watching this great review. I just can't make my mind up about the straps! Always loved a bracelet but the worn look of TGV's strap is really growing on me.
Finally a BI-directional bezel. I hate the way all the watch companies feel that every rotating bezel HAS to be unidirectional or somehow it is not "legitimate". Bi directional bezels are much easier to use, and are more practical.
I wonder what percentage of people who buy dive watches actually use them in a way that necessitates using a dive bezel and thus the need for it to be unidirectional. I would guess 0.05% and I’m being generous 🤣
Hello, TGV I just wanted to let you know that I finally got the Oris Artix GT Day Date Friday. It took a while as I guess the AD looked over the one they sent me and found it to be better to get a new one from Oris which is the way I wanted it, didn't want my new watch to be a repair job before I ever got to put it on my wrist. I love it and it looks great........and works perfect so far. Thanks for reviewing the midsize and putting the final push in making my mind up to go with this model. Keep up the great vids.
TheSilversniffer Hello, So glad to hear. Fantastic. I hope it brings you much enjoyment. The DayDate is stunning. I love the layout. Congrats and please keep me posted. Thanks for sharing, Best regards, TGV
Received the Arabic numeral version today, and am already in love with it. Bought it as an EDC, knockaround piece, and I think it will work perfectly in that capacity. Beautiful watch, but very masculine, no dainty quality to it, and something about it just screams, “Do your worst!” That is, I won’t feel like I have to baby it. The band is fantastic, though quite stiff. When it gets warmer, I’ve got a NATO at the ready. I’ve set the day in German; I just kind of like the novelty of that. Glad I bought it, and think I’m really going to enjoy wearing it.
Hi Tristan, I've been watching your video again and again since last weekend. Today I drove an hour up to Frankfurt to see the watch at the Sinn headquarter live and in color. And man, you did not oversell it a single bit. It feels like a solid instrument, excellent on the wrist and is just gorgeous to look at! But - bummer - they're currently out of stock. The good news is, that the next batch is already on the assembly line, which is actually just a story above the showroom. So I pre-ordered one and I should have that timepiece fresh out of the oven by mid-November *YAY* Thank you for your effort and dedication in sharing your views. Chapeau!
+Ian M. Schomber So glad to hear Ian, Thank you for sharing this and the kind words of support. Enjoy your Sinn when you get it. I hope you told them about the channel! Best regards, TGV
Mate, don´t think has been mentioned. But Sinn has never ever given a watch away for free, they don´t sponsor any famous people or anything like that from what I know of. All in all, they prefer a lower price instead. And making the quality do the PR for them. Just like this video. A very nice watch, congrats.
I love Sinn. When I began collecting, they were where I started. Currently the top Sinn in my collection is an EZM 10 TESTAF. If you are not aware of this watch, I commend it to you. Sinn's history is in pilot watches, but the EZM 10 is the future. It carries nearly every one of the technical features you discussed in the first part of the video--as well as several others For example, Sinn went well beyond water resistance--it's jet fuel and hydrologic fluid resistant. It has UV lume in addition to traditional lume. And it's tegimented--but tegimented titanium. Now it begs the question, what does a guy like me need with a watch like this? Well, for starters, it's badass! But for a lover of both technology and watches, it underscores the point that technology is not just electronic--materials engineering is as, and often even more relevant. And the EZM 10 is probably the most advanced piece of materials engineering technology you can buy and wear. I'd love to know your thoughts on it.
Ephraim Gerstein Wow that EZM sounds amazing. I will have to look into it. I would love to review something like that. Thank you for sharing that, you must be extremely proud. Best regards, TGV P.s. New video just uploaded ;-)
Sinn, like a number of German brands, also offers quality and performance that is represents very good value for money. And as you have said, Sinn also offers a rich history for producing extremely accurate and quality watches used by military services around the world rom fliegers to diving watches. I have a GMT watch by an Australian brand that is water resistant to 300m. I have worn it swimming in the ocean, a swimming pool and to work numerous times. I have owned this particular watch for eight years and it has outlasted a Raymond Weil and a TAG Heuer I have owned over a similar number of years and it cost a third of the price I paid for either of those watches.
Just picked up the Sinn 104 based on your video. I’ve owned an EZM 1 and another Sinn. Love the tool feel of those I’ve owned and this adds a very classy versatility to a daily wear watch.
So WatchBuys sent me the Arabic numeral version and I think I like it better. The watch is stunning in person in a way that the video just doesn’t capture. Having owned several Omega’s, Rolexes etc. I think you are spot on. The build quality is every bit that of the “higher end” name brands. IMO, the difference between Sinn and the more well known watches is $10,000,000 worth of marketing budget and admittedly some history. Personally I enjoy owning something less ubiquitous, a bit more individual. May I suggest a video that details your favorite hidden gems? Sinn 104, Squale diver, ...
The Urban Gentry please start including lume shots in your reviews. I am sure a lot of your viewers would love to see them. Other than that I think you are doing a fantastic job with your reviews. Oh and i would have personally gone with EZM 3F :)
Vladi S Hi Vlad, I like to shoot my lume shots separately. I will do a another lume video soon. Thanks for watching and for sharing the comment. Best regards, TGV
Just ordered my Sinn 104 I St Sa with black Sinn leather strap today, and it will be here tomorrow! TGV's superb review put me over the edge of the cliff and I took the jump! Ha! LOL! Really looking forward to this enjoying this stunning watch.
Another great intro, keep them coming T. Love the review of the Sinn & i can fully understand why you love it so. The day/date feature is so simple & yet it's probably the best i've ever seen. A beautiful looking watch & it suits the plain jane strap down to a tee.
Great review of a stunning watch. literally came across this tonight via your page amd it's now top of my 2016 list! unbelievable looking watch for the money.
I have been watching your videos for the last few days. I love your attention to detail and thoroughness in reviewing each watch and it's quality as well as value for money. I would love to see a review of the Portsea watch by the Melbourne Watch Company; a locally made watch in my area in Australia. Thanks!
I just got my first Sinn two weeks ago, a tegimented U1, and thus far I haven't wanted to wear anything else. I agree there doesn't seem to be much at these price points that compete with Sinn's tech and build quality. This U1 have definitely been a 'game changer' for me.
What a gorgeous watch, I love the fact that it has a screw down crown and all the features (like the system to safely lock the bezel). What's the feeling once you hold it in your hand? Does it feel robust and heavy? (You pointed out already that Sinn makes very robust watches but just to be sure, i sort of hate holding a watch in my hands and feeling a light and cheap piece of metal)
@19:25 you mention you'd like a 120-click bezel with the high density markings. Possibly the way they designed the markings and the long hands is the reason behind the choice of 60 clicks. If you are reading elapsed minutes off the bezel, you can use the markings to read fractions of minutes. If you could set the bezel half way through a minute that wouldn't be easy to do at a glance.
Great video and that is one handsome, cool watch. As you said, it's very 'German' ... rather like a Porsche 356 or 911: elegant, minimal, classic design yet masculine and not a hint of frippery. Just one question: I LOVE the Cola Reb strap on the right of the video in the Cola Reb packaging. It looks very dark brown leather almost even black. Would you happen to know the color name/spec? I prefer it to the supplied Sinn leather strap with full-length stitching. Thanks.
IT'S SUCH A beautiful piece! I love it, seriously! Thank you so much for introducing me to the Sinn brand, and these watches. I really love this, and CAN totally imagine me buying a Sinn watch in the NOT so distant future! Woah, yes, it's a Diver but also Aviation.
TGV I really have to thank you a lot for this. Just got exactly this particular watch and it looks even better in in real life than on this review. And you are 100% right by saying that this watch is "pure class" (love that phrase haha). It really is just beyond what I've expected. Keep up the spirit and your passion for Horology. Best Regards, Wojciech
Sascha Strobel Hello! Great to hear from another satisfied owner and thanks for sharing. I hope it brings you many years of enjoyment. I love mine! Best regards, TGV
TGV. Great well balanced review on this time piece. I was impressed that whilst you are smitten with it you were able to find some critical points. Anyone orientated on buying this will find your review a great help in deciding. Lovely strap and the stressed ( scamosciato) finishing of the leather made the case pop!! Ciao. Jp.
Jeremy Pitotti Thank you JP, very kind indeed. Talking of straps, as you are in Roma, you should pop down to Colareb and have a look, I would love to hear your thoughts. They are based there. Best regards, TGV
Is the movement in this watch an ETA or an in-house movement? I am a new subscriber to your channel and have been enjoying the reviews and various posts. I appreciate your passion and thank you for the effort.
+rk702 Thank you and welcome! This is a modded Sellita SW-200 from what I recall, an ETA clone that actually runs even better by a tiny amount, This Sinn was remarkably good I must say. Best regards, TGV
I have been giving serious thought to the purchase of a Sinn watch. Perhaps the 104, although the 356 Pilot Flieger - a watch I've been considering - has a dial that is busier. I like that in a pilot watch; though this 104 is very nice. I like these reviews. They offer a lot of help and provide a lot of information.
Hi TGV Beautiful watch - and one that I might get myself. However, I would like to point out a couple of things that you might have got wrong in your review - and please don't think I'm being patronising as I really enjoy your channel. First, the 104 is not tegimented. Second, the Sinn Technologies tab on Watchbuys talk about the technologies that Sinn employs in some of their watches. They do not mean to say that this 104 employs all of the technologies described. Some Sinn models have tegimented treatment of their steel, some are made out of submarine-grade steel, some have high anti-magnetic resistance, some have more than one of these technologies in one watch, and so on. This 104, as beautiful and beautifully made as it is, employs unfortunately very few - if none - of these technologies. Of course, it doesn't make this watch less desirable, at least for me, given its price point. For example, an exhibition case back cannot be highly resistant to magnetism. You'll find that Sinn watches that are highly anti-magnetic have solid case backs for that reason. One Sinn model, for example, that has tegimented steel is the 857 - another Sinn tool-type watch that I really like in their line. Another thing I'd like to say is that you should also look at another brand - which I'm also considering - if you like that teutonic approach to watchmaking, as I do also. The brand is Damasko, which actually shares some history with Sinn. Damasko also have a high number of patents associated with their watches - they make their own ice-hardened steel, which is similar to the Sinn's tegimented approach in terms of resistance to scratches, and many more innovations that make that brand as interesting as Sinn, in my opinion. A great brand, I think. What brands like Sinn and Damasko are doing is producing watches that are great timepieces, built without compromise, especially their higher-end models that feature more of their proprietary technologies, at an unbeatable price point. You pay for the quality without the brand "fluff", so to speak... Thank you for bringing Sinn to my attention when you first got it. This is what started me looking into Sinn, which led me to Damasko, and which made me finally realise that my sweet spot is the well-engineered, unpretentious, Tool Watch. Thank you for a great channel and here's to many more episodes! Antoine
Ant3739 Hi, Thanks for pointing this out. I have actually amended all the points you mention, just waiting for youtube to update, takes forever! Thanks for the comment. Best regards, TGV
Hey TGV I've just started watching your vids and have subscribed..Great work I love the detail! So which of the newer colour dial 104s would you go for...the Anthracite or the Navy? I can't make a decision! Cheers
A truly excellent review of a watch I am interested in. I will be visiting Sinn in about 2 months and I think this review "sold me" on this model....even without the numerals, which we went into before. Thank you for covering this subject and coming out with the review in such a short time from initial ownership. I really enjoy all your reviews, but you really did a quality job on this one!! (nice dog too!!)
Very Nice watch! I am in 3rd year college right now with loans piling up so unfortunately I cannot afford anything even close to this watch. Currently I'm wearing an Invicta 8926c Pro Diver with Sieko NH35A Automatic movement. I bought it for $120 dollars including shipping and I think its the best automatic cheapie out there and is a Submariner Hommage. I personally want to get the seamaster planet ocean later on when I have money and even the speedmaster. I love Omega because of my dad; He bought an omega in 1969 in an auction for 200 pounds. The watch worked flawlesly for 30 years and was then stolen in Pakistan. I hope I can get him another piece because he really misses his watch. Great review on this sinn! Another watch added to my wishlist haha!
This dude makes such a nice harmfull videos. Nice classic music. Nice Studio (room). He has a good taste for everything. Very nice to watch especially on a beautifull sunday with a Special Belgium beer in my hand.
Excellent review!!! TGV, please say me if you now after aprox. 1 year, you are satisfied with your purchase with this model of Sinn. I intend to buy the same watch. You made me somehow decide about him. Thanks!!!
i love the back case, superbly done, which watch is better? 104 sta st? or ezm 3? im planning to buy 1521 squale blue phase first. my 2nd watch would be either sinn 104 sta st or sinn ezm3? hoping to hear from you. I always mention ur watch reviews to my friends in singapore, its the best ! thank you for your reviews.
Thoughts on this Sinn in contrast to an Omega Speedmaster? I know the 104 isn't a chronograph, but aesthetically the two pieces are similar and probably fit the same kind of niche is a wardrobe/collection.
I noticed you wore a bead bracelet with the watch. I'm unsure if I can pull that look off, but I'm willing to try. Do you find that the beads scratch the case?
TGV Can you perform a critique on the Luminox aviation/space watches particularly the Space SXC PC Steel GMT Watch models.I have owned one for several years and have fallen in love with this model (styling, aesthetics ,and accuracy).Selling at $800 , it appears to be a great buy.(however, can be obtained for much less. Kindest Regards
Great vidoe ones again TGV. Always love to look at yout vids,...... I must admit that the Sinn 104 ( gets my attention for almost a year now ) but never had the guts to purchase. Now this review will put me over that last bit of hesitation. I think when the steiny has arrived ( gmt vintage ) i will get my hands on this one....beautifull piece,....just love the dial!!!!!!. Cheers bryan
That strap is absolutely gorgeous! When i look for the Colareb Spoleto Stitching on ebay i can only find two colors. "brown" looks too dark and "swamp" looks to light. Could you please tell me what exact strap model (and color) that is?! I'd very much appreciate it! Thanks and take care! Lukas
Hi TGV. I'm a bit confused by the section where you were reading the different Sinn technologies. Were you saying that your particular watch has some, or any of them?
Great review as always. Seriously tempted on this one. I may have missed it but I haven't heard you speak on Longines much. Out of curiosity what do you think of the Heritage 1973 panda (white dial, black subdials)?
Ive always been impressed with my friends Sinn dive watch, 104 looks a cracking piece, nicer than the new version and the reverse bezel would be great in the kitchen!
Alan D Thank you very much Alan. YESSSSS you nailed it, very useful cooking, should be the pilot/chefs watch! Fantastic comment, Best regards, TGV P.s. New video up now ;-)
HI TGV, i've been following your channel for quite some time now, i see you speak highly of both brands, Squale and Sinn, both great heritage and quality brands, i mean to ask, if i have around 900-1k to spend on a watch i intend to keep and use everyday, what would you go for? Squale 1521 or Sinn 104 St ( not sure if its fair to compare these two bad boys considering its a diver vs an aviator) Thanks, keep up the good work with the channel. Cheers from El Salvador C.A.
thank you for this nice and professional demonstration! i love this watch so much and will buy it after seeing your presentation! this will be my 2nd SINN after the "857 UTC". greets from the SINN-homeground "frankfurt city", germany! erik
Der Endres So glad to hear Erik! Thank you for the kind words and watching my channel. I dream of visiting and exploring Frankfurt one day! I hope you enjoy your 104 as much as I do. Best regards, TGV
Well color me jealous. I've been saving up for a Sinn for some time. Eventually, when I'm out of college, hopefully I'll be making more money so I can just pick these watches up on a whim. For now, I'll continue to save up for the 104. Thanks for making the video!
***** Hang in there my friend. That feeling of saving and then finally getting that piece makes it so much more special. Good luck and thanks for the comment. Best regards, TGV
Congratulations on your latest piece! You hit the nail on the head with each and every point you make, I am with you regarding the cleaner dial..my choice indeed. A few questions if you don't mind, is the Chapter ring sterile? I believe I saw some second marker etchings but that could have been a reflection; also the bezel is it engraved or applied numerals? What a watch, what a price point and those lugs! beautiful! as always wear it well! Thank you again for the review.
itsleo Thank you Leo! I will have to get back to you regarding the chapter ring, good question. So glad you like it, I really appreciate the support. Best regards, TGV P.s. New video up now ;-)
The Urban Gentry Whenever you have the time if at all possible thank you! Going to enjoy your latest upload next. Thank you again and enjoy your weekend.
Thanks for a fantastic review! Finally my decision was made and I'm going to buy this watch but I still have one question - you didn't mentioned anything about bezel insert material - is it ceramic or aluminum one? Thanks and keep doing great job !
I would love to see a follow-up on this watch (just your comment added below), as it was one of your early reviews, and you seemed very much in love with this Sinn 104. But alas, like relationships, we who love watches seem to fall in and out of love quite often. How did the Sinn 104 hold up for you? Is it still in your collection? Do you still feel the same way about it? Would you buy it again? Cheers !
Very nice. I really like this look and for the price its good competitor for tudor black bay and similar watches. I think this watch looks like pilot watch in leather, but tranforms to diver with rubber/nato.
I am on the fence of purchasing one of these. I have read that many owners are unhappy with the alignment of the day wheel. Apparently, there are only a couple days that at "crooked" in the day window when shown. Have you noticed this issue on yours? Some owners have also stated that after some time that the crown will no longer advance the day/date manually. I will only advance while manually adjusting the time past midnight, or through normal operation when midnight strikes. This is fixed by sending in for repair and adding oil to the movement. Have you seen any of these issues?? Some people with the day/date alignment issues have reported sending their's back to WatchBuys for warranty repair and they are denied since it meets their "standards". Thanks for your honest feedback!!
Congratulations on your choice. In my opinion it is one of the best looking watches on the market right now. Maybe reducing the complications to just a date or even just the time could improve the clarity on the dial. I already bought a watch this year, but maybe in 2016 i will buy a 104 as a kind of perfect everyday watch. Have a lot of fun wearing this fine peace of watchmaking. Greetings from Germany
I SAW THIS VIDEO and I want to buy myself a Sinn 104 are you still as excited about it? I also like old model 2014, do you know where to buy one in Europe. pre owned it is impossible to find one, because i see nobody sells them
Great Channel! I was a fan of another channel that became more interested in gluttony and sloth than focusing on watches. Your presentation is clear, concise, and well thought out. I have been into Rolex for decades, it was the durability (now called tool watch) factor that appealed to me. With brands like Sinn you can get a watch that is just as durable that fill niches that Rolex does not serve. Also the pricing increases from Rolex are pushing the envelope of an everyday watch and at one million pieces produced annually the exclusivity is waning.
Great review. Just one thing. I don't understand why you want a 120 click bezel (0.5 second increments) against a dial that is divided into 0.2 increments. How do those two measurements square up? Your desire to "fine tune" 1.0 second increments is admirable nonetheless.
The Urban Gentry Good one TGV Its a fantastic piece Looking forward to hearing how it changes your current collection and future buys. German efficiency and aesthetic Its truly marvellous!! And that piece in your collection its proper pan - European !!( German watch with a Swiss heart on Italian leather !) I have to say the minimalist design is very Charming. Top job of a review as usual ! Have fun with your sinn!!! Regards JV PS: as few people suggested lume shots would be nice, And a small suggestion for the !measurement of lug width , use the upper prongs of your calliper for that( the prongs will touch the inner sides of the lugs and give exact reading , not that your values are wrong just that the upper prongs are used for inner measuring)
Tvg, congratulation on another fine review. The Sinn is definitely a beautiful and well crafted timepiece, the syringe-style hour and minute hands give it a very refined look. My question is hypothetically, if you were going to the Ligurian Riviera for a holiday, but could only take one watch from your collection which would it be Sinn 104, Squale 1521, Rolex Submarine or perhaps another?
lombady banker Thank you so much LB! haha FANTASTIC hypothetical question, love your style LB! Well, thats the million euro question I guess, it would have to be the Sub, the Squale a close second considering its history with Italy. The sub always goes on holiday with me as its become a kind of reminder of travel and adventure. I see the Sinn more as an everyday watch for going to work with a bit of style and reliability. Its a very good point in fact, the Sinn lacks that bit of the romance that divers tend to have with their adventurous robustness, maybe thats just me that feels like that? Best regards, TGV
Great review. Not just the facts but a reall impression of the feel of the watch. I recently got an Oris Aquis (blue sunburst dial) and am imprressed with the quality (coming from $200-$300 watches). This Sinn was also on my list and am curious how it compares in quality to the Aquis which you reviewed in 2014. Keep up the good work with these great reviews!
Nice review but I have two notes: 1. All those cool Sinn technologies you mentioned which are on the watchbuys.com website aren't used for this particular watch. Most of them are for watches above 2000$ 2. You could make a close-up of the watch when you put them on your hand during the review. Btw. what is the size of your wrist (esp. the width)? Mine is 49mm and I am not sure if I can pull off the size of this case even though lug to lug is 47mm. What do you think?
+David Novy Hi David, The technologies mentioned were an overview of the brand itself and NOT featured in this watch. I thought it would be great to talk about them as many people don't know about the amazing things Sinn are doing. Thanks for watching, Best regards, TGV
I truely enjoy your 2015 videos .,
I do miss parts of 2014 and the low key reviews from 2015 .,
Crazy how the perspective of today’s wisdom does not diminish these gems .,I get a duality of benefit. Not only do I get back the cozy feeling that I had watching these 5 years ago. , but I also gain from new focus.
Steve C I 112% agree !
Love the traditional aesthetics. You made a superb choice here.
Geekanoids Thank you Dave!
Always glad to have your approval.
Best regards,
TGV
I love these older videos of yours TGV. There’s something so much more honest about this format.
Great review of the Sinn 104 St Sa I ! You inspired me and today I got me this one at German official Sinn dealer. You was absolutely was right, the quality is fantastic. I'm blown away and totally happy with my new acquisition. Thank's a lot for inspiring me.
+atlantic-diver.com Fantastic, thank you for sharing that, really pleases me to hear. Enjoy the watch!
Best regards,
TGV
Re-watched this review. You were absolutely glowing for 27 minutes, how on earth did you manage to sell this?! :)
We all know websites that sell watches have terrible descriptions and pictures-been in love with the sinn 104 sa since first watching your channel-because of all your help and true love and respect for all time pieces-The love for the swatch made me just order the new 2017 white faced dial 104 with indices not numerals-I have never had the jewels to purchase a $1200 watch without actually holding it-but I am beyond thrilled waiting for my new timepiece to be built and sent to me-just wanted to say thank you so much
JT- Chicago
Jason Thomas I have the same watch.. Love it to bits
Good choice. The Sinn is made in Germany with German made case while the Ball is of unknown origin with as many Chinese parts allowed by Swiss law.
I've been undecided about the Sinn 104. After watching your review, I ordered one today. Thank you for the quality review TGV!
+John Drago Thank you John, enjoy it!
Best regards,
TGV
Where did you order yours ?
So glad to hear, they certainly are amazing!!!!
Enjoy it my friend, I might have to get another Sinn eventually.
Best regards,
TGV
The Urban Gentry you did get it again didn’t you 😍 I took my delivery on Wednesday and have just watched these videos (again!!) wearing it 🤗 I know it’s being a bit like a kid again 🤪
I'm always shaking my head why you sold your Sinn. This was my first TGV video and my favorite. This watch gave birth to my horology soul. Probably forever one of my few grail watches.
I just bought the Sinn 104 in Blue dial and I am in love with it.
I have the black dial, the watch beat my expectations and feels on par with my more expensive watches quality wise. The -0.5sec a day accuracy is also amazing
Buying this watch after watching your videos on the piece and super excited to give it all the love and attention it deserves! Thanks for your reviews
Thanks for the comment as always,
Best regards,
TGV
Looking at the Sinn website it seems that this is a lower end model and does not feature any special technology like hardened case, u boot steal and dehumidification capsule, etc.. Still a great watch.
Nobody reviews watches on detail level like you do. My 3+ month of searching for the everyday watch has come to an end after this video.
Did you end up getting it? If so, what do you think?
Fantastic review, TGV. I've been seriously eyeing Sinns for the last two weeks now as my first "high-end" luxury watch purchase, and your review of the 104 just put me over. I'm going to be ordering one tomorrow; I talked to one of the guys at WatchBuys about it today. BTW, I will be attending their road show next week in San Francisco.
Stephen Scharf Thank you again Stephan. Let me know how it goes with your Sinn,
I would be very interested to hear. I hope you said good thing to the people at Watchbuys about me ;-)
Thanks for the support,
Best regards,
TGV
P.s. New video up! ;-)
Sinn makes such a well-defined and complete product in design and function. I had a similar experience with my 556i, that it had me contemplating for a minute why I needed anything else. My 556i remains the most GADA watch in my collection.
Always appreciate these reviews. Refined without being snobby.
Which watch band is it you have on here? The color is beautiful.
Seriously considering buying this watch after watching this great review. I just can't make my mind up about the straps! Always loved a bracelet but the worn look of TGV's strap is really growing on me.
Mate, you always pull some new watch out the bag that is a beauty and gets added to the wish list!
Finally a BI-directional bezel. I hate the way all the watch companies feel that every rotating bezel HAS to be unidirectional or somehow it is not "legitimate". Bi directional bezels are much easier to use, and are more practical.
That is because most watches with rotatable bezels are dive watches and you sort of need it
im having a hard time looking for bidirectional bezel watches under 42mm, this and the zelos horizon gmt from the looks of it...
I wonder what percentage of people who buy dive watches actually use them in a way that necessitates using a dive bezel and thus the need for it to be unidirectional. I would guess 0.05% and I’m being generous 🤣
@@manuel_winde the need isn’t there but to be iso certified it does
Hello,
TGV I just wanted to let you know that I finally got the Oris Artix GT Day Date Friday.
TheSilversniffer Hello,
So glad to hear. Fantastic.
I hope it brings you much enjoyment. The DayDate is stunning. I love the layout.
Congrats and please keep me posted.
Thanks for sharing,
Best regards,
TGV
Chapeau!
+Ian M. Schomber So glad to hear Ian,
Thank you for sharing this and the kind words of support.
Enjoy your Sinn when you get it.
I hope you told them about the channel!
Best regards,
TGV
+The Urban Gentry I even e-mailed them the link :)
Grateful for your voice.
I am such a Seiko fan boy.
I have been watching german watches for about 10 years
I am in love with simple
Mate, don´t think has been mentioned. But Sinn has never ever given a watch away for free, they don´t sponsor any famous people or anything like that from what I know of.
All in all, they prefer a lower price instead. And making the quality do the PR for them.
Just like this video. A very nice watch, congrats.
I love Sinn. When I began collecting, they were where I started.
Currently the top Sinn in my collection is an EZM 10 TESTAF. If you are not aware of this watch, I commend it to you. Sinn's history is in pilot watches, but the EZM 10 is the future. It carries nearly every one of the technical features you discussed in the first part of the video--as well as several others
For example, Sinn went well beyond water resistance--it's jet fuel and hydrologic fluid resistant.
Best regards,
TGV
P.s. New video just uploaded ;-)
I handled one of these at the Watchbuys Roadshow here in DC, and it is fantastic. Probably my next piece.
I'm all about a diver on weathered leather....I just saw the Tudor black bay BRONZE and man I'm in love
Go get it! Haha, are you getting a brand new or used?
I decided to buy this watch after I saw this video. Got mine today and I'm super satisfied
Best regards,
TGV
Just ordered my Sinn 104 I St Sa with black Sinn leather strap today, and it will be here tomorrow! TGV's superb review put me over the edge of the cliff and I took the jump! Ha! LOL! Really looking forward to this enjoying this stunning watch.
Another great intro, keep them coming T. Love the review of the Sinn & i can fully understand why you love it so. The day/date feature is so simple & yet it's probably the best i've ever seen. A beautiful looking watch & it suits the plain jane strap down to a tee.
stephen rhodes Thank you Stephen,
I am so glad you approve.
Best regards,
TGV
P.s. New video up now ;-)
Great review of a stunning watch. literally came across this tonight via your page amd it's now top of my 2016 list! unbelievable looking watch for the money.
Fantastic piece! Has it gotten you thinking about getting the Sinn 903? And if you were to get it, what colour dial would you choose?
Great video and that is one handsome, cool watch. As you said, it's very 'German' ... rather like a Porsche 356 or 911: elegant, minimal, classic design yet masculine and not a hint of frippery. Just one question: I LOVE the Cola Reb strap on the right of the video in the Cola Reb packaging. It looks very dark brown leather almost even black. Would you happen to know the color name/spec? I prefer it to the supplied Sinn leather strap with full-length stitching. Thanks.
A great piece indeed, way better looking than it's newer version. Have fun wearing it!
Stephen H. Thank you SHK!
Best regards,
TGV
IT'S SUCH A beautiful piece! I love it, seriously! Thank you so much for introducing me to the Sinn brand, and these watches. I really love this, and CAN totally imagine me buying a Sinn watch in the NOT so distant future!
Woah, yes, it's a Diver but also Aviation.
Cool piece TGV. Love the display back and the leather strap combo works so well. The strap gives the watch some pop, makes it stand out.
Christopher Jennings Thank you Christopher. Very pleased with the combo myself too, so glad you approve.
Thanks for the comment,
Best regards,
TGV
TGV I really have to thank you a lot for this. Just got exactly this particular watch and it looks even better in in real life than on this review. And you are 100% right by saying that this watch is "pure class" (love that phrase haha). It really is just beyond what I've expected. Keep up the spirit and your passion for Horology.
Best Regards,
Wojciech
Loving this watch. Love to see a updated review on how it's worked for you over the last couple years Also, does it have AR?
Great video! Bought the watch in April and I am so happy with it.
Sascha Strobel Hello! Great to hear from another satisfied owner and thanks for sharing.
I hope it brings you many years of enjoyment. I love mine!
Best regards,
TGV
Just clicked "GO" on the 105 UTC. Can't wait to see it in person.
Just rewatched this and bought one. Their shop on the Romerplatz is also the finishing location of Ironman Frankfurt...emotions
Best regards,
TGV
Is the movement in this watch an ETA or an in-house movement?
I am a new subscriber to your channel and have been enjoying the reviews and various posts. I appreciate your passion and thank you for the effort.
+rk702 SW are an ETA Swiss competitor. Less well known but are thought of as good or even more accurate.
+rk702 Thank you and welcome!
This is a modded Sellita SW-200 from what I recall, an ETA clone that actually runs even better by a tiny amount,
This Sinn was remarkably good I must say.
Best regards,
TGV
I have been giving serious thought to the purchase of a Sinn watch. Perhaps the 104, although the 356 Pilot Flieger - a watch I've been considering - has a dial that is busier. I like that in a pilot watch; though this 104 is very nice. I like these reviews. They offer a lot of help and provide a lot of information.
Hi TGV
Beautiful watch - and one that I might get myself.
Antoine
Ant3739 Hi,
Thanks for pointing this out. I have actually amended all the points you mention, just waiting for youtube to update, takes forever!
Thanks for the comment.
Best regards,
TGV
Sinn 104 combines the two most popular watches in the world, diving and pilot. Congratulations !!! 👍
From walking in the woods and down trout streams to a formal event
I noticed you wore a bead bracelet with the watch. I'm unsure if I can pull that look off, but I'm willing to try. Do you find that the beads scratch the case?
TGV
Can you perform a critique on the Luminox aviation/space watches particularly the Space SXC PC Steel GMT Watch models.I have owned one for several years and have fallen in love with this model (styling, aesthetics ,and accuracy).Selling at $800 , it appears to be a great buy.(however, can be obtained for much less.
Not gonna lie, y'all got my fav title tracks of any of the watch review channel. Dilla title track? Subscribed.
But forreal excellent review. Definitely Googled this watch since viewing this
Dickin Flicka
Great review as always. Seriously tempted on this one. I may have missed it but I haven't heard you speak on Longines much. Out of curiosity what do you think of the Heritage 1973 panda (white dial, black subdials)?
Hello, new fan to the show, really enjoy it! You have made a Sinn fan out of me. Shopping for one now.
Fantastic comment,
Best regards,
TGV
P.s. New video up now ;-)
HI TGV, i've been following your channel for quite some time now, i see you speak highly of both brands, Squale and Sinn, both great heritage and quality brands, i mean to ask, if i have around 900-1k to spend on a watch i intend to keep and use everyday, what would you go for? Squale 1521 or Sinn 104 St ( not sure if its fair to compare these two bad boys considering its a diver vs an aviator) Thanks, keep up the good work with the channel. Cheers from El Salvador C.A.
Your choices for into music are superb. Oh, and your watches are cool too i guess...
thank you for this nice and professional demonstration! i love this watch so much and will buy it after seeing your presentation! this will be my 2nd SINN after the "857 UTC".
greets from the SINN-homeground "frankfurt city", germany!
erik
Der Endres So glad to hear Erik!
Thank you for the kind words and watching my channel.
I dream of visiting and exploring Frankfurt one day!
I hope you enjoy your 104 as much as I do.
Best regards,
TGV
where did you buy the colareb-strap you used at the video? ios there an onlinestore? can't find anything.
Der Endres Let me find you a link and get back to you, I am sure Holbens will have it,
www.holbensfinewatchbands.com
Well color me jealous. I've been saving up for a Sinn for some time. Eventually, when I'm out of college, hopefully I'll be making more money so I can just pick these watches up on a whim. For now, I'll continue to save up for the 104. Thanks for making the video!
***** Hang in there my friend. That feeling of saving and then finally getting that piece makes it so much more special.
Good luck and thanks for the comment.
Best regards,
TGV
Hi TGV. Have you had a look around a Hanhart Primus Pilot watch before? Think you should buy one and review it. Amazing timepiece. Love the show!
Best regards,
TGV
P.s. New video up now ;-)
The Urban Gentry Whenever you have the time if at all possible thank you! Going to enjoy your latest upload next. Thank you again and enjoy your weekend.
Is the bezel aluminum or ceramic? Seems hard to find what the bezel is made of. Also, is the bezel tegimented?
James Parus I totally agree. It certainly is versatile. Hope you are well my friend.
Thanks for the comment.
Best regards,
TGV
Sorry for the typos in my comment. It was entered using my fat thumbs on my smart (dumb) phone.
Great review. Could you please recommend a reputable site to buy this watch in the UK. Thanks..
I SAW THIS VIDEO
and I want to buy myself a Sinn 104
are you still as excited about it?
Looking for a companion to my oris bc3 and this caught my eye. Looked at sinn a few times but didn't notice this. Very nice watch.
Great review.
Colin Benfield Thank you Colin,
Very kind, I hope you will subscribe, I like the Oris Bc3 very much BTW.
Thanks again,
Best regards
TGV
The Urban Gentry Good one TGV
Its a fantastic piece
Looking forward to hearing how it changes your current collection and future buys.
German efficiency and aesthetic
Its truly marvellous!! And that piece in your collection its proper pan - European !!( German watch with a Swiss heart on Italian leather !)
I have to say the minimalist design is very Charming.
Top job of a review as usual !
Have fun with your sinn!!!
Regards
JV
PS: as few people suggested lume shots would be nice,
And a small suggestion for the !measurement of lug width , use the upper prongs of your calliper for that( the prongs will touch the inner sides of the lugs and give exact reading , not that your values are wrong just that the upper prongs are used for inner measuring)

Many thanks - Good choice.
Seen this next to the white dial version.. I decided to get the latter.. Just stunning
Nice review but I have two notes:
1. All those cool Sinn technologies you mentioned which are on the watchbuys.com website aren't used for this particular watch. Most of them are for watches above 2000$
2. You could make a close-up of the watch when you put them on your hand during the review.
Btw. what is the size of your wrist (esp. the width)? Mine is 49mm and I am not sure if I can pull off the size of this case even though lug to lug is 47mm. What do you think?
+David Novy Hi David,
The technologies mentioned were an overview of the brand itself and NOT featured in this watch. I thought it would be great to talk about them as many people don't know about the amazing things Sinn are doing.
Thanks for watching,
Best regards,

Excellent review. A great-looking watch. But I really wish those hands weren't impossible to tell the difference at a glance.
