Hey, Sam. Removing that door in front of the stairs and adding that new front door was genius. That natural light from the door completely changes the look of your entryway. I love it. Restoring the floors and connecting the color of the living room and kitchen floors is another fantastic idea. Your house is really beginning to take shape. Thanks for sharing the video of this step in your 'Samavacation' of your new house.
Sam, seeing you and your dad working on projects together really warms my heart and brings back memories of me and my dad working together. Next month will make 3 years since he passed. Cherish and enjoy your time with him while you can.
Your dad loves cameos in your videos more than Stan Lee in Marvel movies! Loving seeing the progress on your house and can't wait for the finished product!
Wow so beautiful. I obsess over drywall flaws too. In my rental I can close my eyes and still see all of them ahhhh. I'd happily fix them but I lack the talent. I truly believe taping n mudding is a gift
This entryway makeover is absolutely Stunning!! Removing the stairway door opens that space up so much!! I'm so in love with that new door and those floors are Gorgeous!! Beautiful job Sam!!
You did an amazing job modernizing the space. From the door , the accent wall the nook,floors.....you have great skills and your home is coming together beautifully
Awkward? It’s pronounced ✨amazing✨. This is so so so good! I had no idea so many cool drywall products existed; I always wondered how to fill a huge hole in the wall!
I don’t mind waiting for each project because I know how much work it takes to remodel. Having done it myself before moving to my current place I know how obsessed you can get with each project trying to properly execute your vision. But the process and results are always worth it, and that really comes though in all your videos which makes them that much more enjoyable to watch. Keep up the good work Sam, your place is coming along great!
I just started watching your channel because my partner and I are slowly renovating our townhouse in Baltimore and we've been looking at so many videos to address some of the things we can do ourselves, and I'm SO PUMPED because watching you work makes me feel like we can do a lot of the work (with the right tools of course). Thank you so much for sharing these projects, it really makes a world of difference to us DIY-ers. :)
Hi Sam, I love the new front door. It changed the entry way totally. All kinds of natural light. Absolutely beautiful. I'm really glad you remodeled the nook and brought it up to date. Although you should have stained and finished the wood before installing it ... LOL ... it turned out fantastic. You are allowed to make a minor boo boo once in a while. It's easy to do when you are thinking about a dozen different thing at once. I absolutely love the original hardwood floor. It's totally gorgeous. I just can't figure out why anyone would want to cover up such beautiful floors with laminate. You definitely hit a home run by redoing the original flooring. That'll be the first thing people will notice when they walk through the door. Automatic conversation piece. Love watching your channel and your DIY projects. Keep up the great work. Look forward to the next one.
I just installed that same front door. It's a total game changer! So much more light in the room. Love the feature wall, I don't have a wall to put it on, I was considering using old blind slats and putting similar design on my doors.
You have no idea how happy I was to find this video thos morning. I've been waiting to see you work in your new home. Those floors are awesome and so are the shelves and door. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.
It looks amazing! Good job! LOVE the door. It completely changes the look of your home and the light coming in the front door makes the entry look so much bigger!
Painting ceilings is intense, but I absolutely love doing it, cause it makes a huge impact and it's just a wow to me. I love it when people are like omg wow I didn't realize they weren't white lol
Sam, your dad is so funny. he should feature in more of your vids 😃 Your new front door looks amazing and so do the floors. it's really coming along nicely !
It's looking better and better each time we see it. I love those floors. I'll never understand why someone would cover them with laminate. Also, I hate doing drywall too. And I always talk to myself when I'm doing a project because I'm the only person who will give me the answers I want. Keep on trucking. Bill
I am so happy that you have your own home. Everything looks amazing I love the original floors❣️You’re going making it your own and put your finishing touches on everything. Thank you for another great video God bless❌⭕️❌⭕️
I love how this looks. The new front door adds some much needed light to the space. The mirror looks lovely too. I just hope that the door handle doesn't hit it hard. You might end up with a broken mirror.
Hi Sam, yes the wait was truly worth it! I love the front door and the way you changed the knook OMG !! and the floor is beautiful. I’m so happy for you. ❤️. Hi dad!!
Love that front door! Amazing how smaller changes can make such a big difference! Also, that door doesn’t look bad on the outside of the house. You probably think looks worse than it actually does. I think it goes well enough until you get new siding.
After watching the entire video, I only heard "sexy chocolate" when referencing the beautifully refinished hardwood floors. J/K you really increased the size of that tiny entry with a new door and paint. I love it
Good video Sam. That nook looks good, but I personally would have preferred to keep the steeple and put a third shelf across the bottom making it an additional space for something like an emergency alcohol lamp. Then again, that space could have been turned into a nifty little secret hideaway for valuables as well.
mudding and taping is a skill that you build over time. if you have to do more, no big deal. you are awesome! i suck at it depending on what kind of joint i'm dealing with. the corner beads and choosing what option is one of the harder joints, plus you pulled out the whole jamb and frame and have old plaster walls like me so it makes it even harder to get smooth. you did a great job and kept it real so i think it will help more people who have never done this and might be nervous about it. thanks for sharing with us!!! great job :)
Just fantastic, love it! Your doing such an amazing job of your renovation, I don't know how you manage do it all along with a full time job, qudos friend! Looking forward to your next video and of course your dad cameos! Awesome
Hi Sam! It looks so good! Maybe you could consider changing the outdoor sconces for something a bit more modern as a way of helping tie the outside of your front door. It is a simple and doesn’t have to be particularly expensive but I think it would help your door seem more fitting from the outside.
Looks awesome, love the front door! Wondering your plan for coats/boots/shoes etc as I also have a small entryway and am looking for ideas. Great job, excited to see the rest
Omg I love it all, from the floors to the door and how much better that stairway is now. Great work as always and I can’t wait to see the whole house reveal 😍
That Accent wall is killah! Nice job! Remember to protect your hearing when using power tools, such as that multi tool, which is crazy loud, at least my Bosch is! Peace!
You did a fabulous job there girl. Well done. Your floor restorer did a great job too. Those floors look like new and the colour is gorgeous. The wood looks so healthy now. I love the live edge shelves and your front door. The new banister looks stylish and so essential - well done in turning it into such a statement. Love your new wall too. You're doing so good. Love your dads little joke there too. Great to see him again. You guys make a great team.
