- The first DIY room makeover in our new house is done I am so stoked to have our very own guest room space! Since it's away from the 1st floor renovations, I wanted to get this space ready for us to use as our temporary bedroom with a fun and easy bedroom makeover! I can't wait to stay in this space as we renovate and also can't wait to continue to make it our own as we grow into our house!

🇬🇧 I live in the U.K. and am always amazed when Americans and Canadians say “small room”. That bedroom was bigger than most master bedrooms in the U.K. European homes are very small, as we have less land here. There are many positive aspects though, our utility bills are much smaller and it costs less in building materials and flooring for smaller spaces. Your guest room was amazing! I loved the colours, so cosy. Can I also say I love the style of your jeans, I’ve been looking for something like these for ever.
It is a nice size room, but it’s tight, especially with the ceiling. Thanks for the love! I think I got those jeans on clearance at Free People!

Love it! Your style may be neutral but there is a calming essence about it. Especially during renovations, having a clean bedroom to relax in is worth all the dust and grim from making over a space!

The rooms looks so great! I just moved into a 50’s house about 3 months ago and we keep getting stalled by similar issues. We have almost no rooms complete but several at 95%. It is a process!

What a fantastic makeover. I know that you did not make them but the IKEA KLACKENÄS sideboards look great in the room. You clearly have a gift for bringing the different elements of a room design together. I am impressed. The struggle you showed is so very real. And you are correct. You can often be your worst critic. So many choices, so little wall space! The radiator cover is cool and simple. the rug makes the room. The paint really helps bring the light in from the single window in the room. The floor is classic and should stand the test of time. bluish white is hard on the eyes. That's why you have a blue light filter on your filter, which makes everything a bit yellowy. I think that's why you felt the repainted colour was more relaxing.

The “drop” in the ceiling is called strapping which is best practice for a more rigid ceiling and also lets you easily run wires

Those allen wrench ratchets are the best! I got one with my bed frame too.
Looks great! I used that same color coordinating tactic for my office that I just completed. My rug brings so much color but I also added some shiny elements (rose gold: lamp, a candle, a paper basket) just to make it a bit more girly. (Ps, I'm not a girly girl, lol) you did great, the room looks cozy!
