Hey friends, thank you so much for tuning in to another one of our renovation videos. This is our last finished (aside from that window) project of the year and will also be our last video of the year so that we can have some time off for Christmas. We hope you all have a great festive period and we’ll see you in the new year when we’ll (hopefully) be sharing our next finished project. Merry Christmas 🎄
Happy holidays to you all ! Beautiful room! I have to confess I started watching you because of all your renovations and I skip the other ones but never the makeover videos ! You have a wonderful taste in decorating and renovating! 😊
Looks lovely and I'm so glad you replaced the carpet with a new carpet, wooden floors are fine in hallways or living rooms but in a bedroom, it feels so cosy to have a carpet.
I was going to suggest altering the legs on a bed to accommodate the step…but I see I wasn’t the only one thinking those thoughts. 😄 The room looks great!
STUNNING!! I've loved all of your makeovers but I must say your keen eye for spacial planning and beautiful esthetic is definitely on top form with this one!! Absolutely love!! And the timing couldn't be better as I'm about to finally make over our dated 1980's ensuite and have been stressing over tiles and grout! Hope you don't mind but I'm going to copy your look! Xo from Canada ❤
Another beautiful example of your combined efforts in renovating and spare bedroom. Perfectly done! You and Simon are the best team! Love watching all your videos! 😊
Simon is a beast!!! He is a jack of all trades!! You don't have to hire any subcontractors!!! The bedroom turned out beautifully!!! It is so tranquil!! Love the duvet !!! The paint color is so peaceful and calming!!!
You did an excellent work once more ! But wouldn't be nice to have a mirror somewhere ? Or a clock ? Can't wait for your next video ! Greetings from Greece to both of you!
I personally don’t like clocks in rooms because they’re often loud when trying to sleep and not everyone likes that but everyone does have a phone so they’ll always have the time and an alarm if they want one. We do have 2 mirrors, one inside the wardrobe for a full outfit view and a smaller one for moving around to do make up or put contact lenses in which was on the lower shelf of the small bedside table 👍🏼
Another beautifully finished project ✔️. What a lovely spare room you changed it into. Thanks for another year of great content and endless inspiration. Enjoy the rest over Christmas and I hope you both have a lovely festive season in your beautiful home with your families 🎄🎅🏻🎉💫 See you on the other side ❤️
Another beautiful reno. How did you deal with the 'step' under the window? The finished look has the bed tucked in closely underneath the window with no step showing. 🤩🤔
Beautifully done guys! Enjoy your break and looking forward to more videos next year. Merry Christmas to you both and your families (including your beautiful dogs) ❤
Just start to watch and I already know I'll love it 😉 I always love your choices of colors and the way you mix them. Always chic and raffiné. Well done you're a awsome team with Simon by your side 😁💪👍 I wish you to enjoy your break. Have a nice Christmas and I send you bises 😉😘
How did you get over the step under the window to put the bed in the recess? Did you cut the legs down at that end? I think you've sold me on Joanna for all my hall spaces when we finally get round to repainting, it's such a good neutral!
Well done, room is gorgeous!! The picture above the dresser should be quite a bit lower but I love how you hid the ledge under the window with the bed.
The step under the window is a safety feature for escaping in case of fire, it is built in and cannot be removed according to building regulations thank you.
Well that would explain that then 🤣 Although there are no steps in any other room on this level so if the fire spread and that was the only room with a step it seems a bit of a pointless regulation 🙈
Looks so good! You have such an eye 🙌 Only question is how does the window step work with the bed frame? Is there not a gap between the frame and then the window? Looks like the pillows are right up against it. Would love to know how you did it...
Hi Emma, loving your videos! I noticed you changing your own wall sockets. In Australia we have to get an electrician to do this ($$$) unless I'm mistaken?? Are you allowed to do it yourself in the UK? Thanks so much!
Ooooh I do love your room renos! The new space looks as lovely as i thought it would, given your excellent, classic taste - tho I did wonder if the bed couldn't have fitted on the gable wall rather than under the window? Or was the head height walking around it an issue?
Yes both the head height and also as mentioned at the start of the video that wall isn’t straight which is why the boxing in was there to act as a straight headboard. We didn’t like that set up and thought this made better useable space of the room x
Hi Emma, this is a bit random but as a lover of cashmere and other natural fabrics have you ever had any issues with clothes moths.. do you practise any preventive measures?
As mentioned the step was built into the walls so couldn’t be removed. We just chopped the back legs off the bed so it was level. Not the ideal situation but it works 😊
Hi Emma, can you let me know about the mattress protector you’re using please? Our bed is very hard so would like a soft/thick protector to make is a bit softer - appreciate letting me know. Tx
@@JanetIreland-q8sI doubt we’ll remove it at this stage as it’s not our forever home. Someone said it is for building regs for fire in which case it can’t be removed x
It’s a Shark Cordless pet something or other 🙊 I did link the specific one in my cleaning and decorating for autumn video if you want the exact model x
Hi Emma, your code for the extra £10 off the tablet doesnt work unfortunately. I think Argos are doing same/better deal and you can trade your old tablet in too.
The code should take £10 off the full price which takes it down to £139.99 I believe. But the extra discount is for the bundle deal which takes the bundle to £10 less than what it is on the website. But that’s great that you found the trade in deal 🙌🏼
@@EmmaHill thanks for the clarification. There were 2 codes so I tried to use the code for the extra £10 off the tablet but they are now offering it for £139.99 anyway so it just said "invalid". Will still buy one as it looks really good and a great price.
@@nicolalatham7939I must admit we haven’t had a tablet in about 5 years, we always used to have them before but as we work on our laptops every day we never saw a need. But, it has been really handy having this, especially when in bed or sat on the sofa. It’s nice to have something more streamlined and lighter than a bulky laptop to just browse the internet or watch stuff in bed 🙌🏼
i wonder why you never mention your energy class and if any extra insulation needed? i recently relocated to a very similar climate and the temperature inside is my real headache.
We haven’t been dismantling any walls in this room so to add extra insulation would have meant that we’d have had to completely uncover any walls and then build them out, that’s not a small or cheap job. That said this is technically loft space which is heavily insulated, so we’re very happy with the temperature inside the house when the heating is on. The main thing leaking heat was the very old windows which is why we got them all replaced so now it’s more efficient 👍🏼
Well it did have a purpose for the previous owners as that’s where they chose to have a bed so it did make sense but just wasn’t suitable for us so ‘bye bye’ it went 🙊

Beautiful room and fits perfectly with the rest of the house! You guys are great!👍
Emma everything you do in your home is beautiful, your decor is second to none and its all done so tastfully, well done😊
Brilliant idea to cover the step with the bed. Looks so inviting, you two did a great job.

We did indeed 👍🏼
It looks amazing Emma! 😊
Happy Christmas Emma and Simon. Have a lovely break 🎄🎄🎄
Love your style

Cutting the bed leg is a clever idea ❤❤❤❤
Love this renovation, did u cut the legs off the back of the bed for it to fit in the space with the step? Such a good idea!!
Love this Emma, great job and merry Christmas to you both 🎄❤
Omg it’s lovely
Well done, room is gorgeous!! The picture above the dresser should be quite a bit lower but I love how you hid the ledge under the window with the bed.
It is lower, Simon just hung it by the wrong area on the back when filming 🙈
Merry Christmas to you, Simon, and the Bs! Respect for all the remodeling you have done.
Hi Emma, elegant makeover as always!! I especially love the chest of drawers. Where is it from?
Amazing talent😊
The room looks fantastic and a very clever layout but how did you get the bed in the window alcove when the floor level was higher there?
We just chopped the back legs of the bed down 😘
The step under the window is a safety feature for escaping in case of fire, it is built in and cannot be removed according to building regulations thank you.
Well that would explain that then 🤣 Although there are no steps in any other room on this level so if the fire spread and that was the only room with a step it seems a bit of a pointless regulation 🙈

Gorgeous! Can I be your Portuguese guest, Emma?
I love all your renovations. I just wonder about the position of the bed against the window due to Feng shui principles
We don’t follow Feng Shui principles, it’s just not something we believe in x
You're a jewel 💖 💕 💓
Simply wonderful 🥰 my dream bedroom, simple but cosy with taste. Can I ask where did you get this beautiful sideboard please?
Details of everything can be found in the description box below the video x
So perfect except there’s no view of the second window? It faces into the roof or?
Looks so good! You have such an eye 🙌 Only question is how does the window step work with the bed frame? Is there not a gap between the frame and then the window? Looks like the pillows are right up against it. Would love to know how you did it...
The window is about 2 ft higher than the bed frame x
Always turn out stunning ❤ I hope I can find similar paint color in US
I can’t remember the colour but I’m sure someone has told me before that Sherwin Williams has a dupe of Joanna x
Thanks! I'm going to search it.@@EmmaHill

U always love your renovation video's. What happened to the step Emma. Looks like it's gone??

Looks great! But dud I miss how you fitted the bed in with the step?
We just cut the legs down on the head of the bed so it was level 👍🏼

Yes this is the second as mentioned at the start of the video x

So is the bed tilted since it sits on that step?!
Noooo 🙈 we levelled the bed by shortening the back legs 😘
Wait what did you do with the step?? Looks like the bed goes all the way against the window in the finale
