Hey Chris, I greatly appreciate your insight on hotshoting. I am about to retire from the Coast Guard and I have a 2021 Ram 3500 Dually. I have been thinking about doing this as a side job next. Keep up the great videos.
Good informative video bro! So many of these other youtubers are negative when talking about hot shot trucking.
Great video! My authority became active on yesterday. Your video was VERY helpful.
Congrats! Good luck & be safe out there.
Good video bruh! Keep um comin 💪🏽💪🏽💯💯

Man thanks for the video was realy lost tell seen your video can you do video of you actually booking one plz
Thanks my man, I really appreciate the game, I am about to start, but the Gov is making me take additional class. How do you get in contact with a good broker and how do we band together for better payloads?
Yeah we would love the video on the DAT load board #nocheapFreight
Say less!
The homie staying true to the non-cdl lifestyle. Appreciate the classroom lesson G. I and we are all grateful for you. Keep the content flowing. Looking forward to the next lesson. Factoring? Gas cards? Truck/ Trailer maintenance and walk around?
Got you 💯
Why wouldn’t you wanna get a class a to haul more weight also what is the towing capacity for you’re truck?? I was looking at a truck that had 10k towing capacity isn’t that pretty much the trailer leaving u with around 4K pounds to max out ur towing capacity???
Not gona lie but you so much help to be honest im currently a co driver for a friend with lease purchase in a semi truck but i want to start hot shot to start out and grow little by little and move up to a semi cause semi's are a bit expensive and since at home i already got a truck just need a trailer would be best off starting like that for a couple years and move up
I'm in Oregon just starting, i know to just hit the boards and drive. but from the west coast perspective, what are some favorable loads to look for? And yes I will be going wherever I need to, not sticking to here, just asking what do you see, or what I should put in my head when doing it?
No truck yet, LLC and paperwork done, waiting on the usdot
Volume super low, but great info. Please do another soon.
Would be dope to do a part 2 with a couple live calls to brokers 🧐 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
I want to run non cdl but I don't have the startup money. I'm thinking about getting cdl's and jumping in box for somebody else for a while.
Ppl r slow bro! I keep hearing do not run your business off the load boards alone and i agree 100%. With that being said, do you take the time to cold call, do you go out to different local businesses and verbally make relationships, leave business cards in commercial & industrial parks, or are these the people uve run loads for in the past and they prefer using you because of your attention to securement, timely delivery, professional appearance etc? Whats your personal approach to these relationships?
You hit the nail right on the head with this! Not sure if you follow me on IG but I preach this 24/7. I feel like I’m the only person who actually went and had brochures & business cards made up & actively goes to local businesses marketing myself along with my services. Crazy part is 40% of my work comes directly from the shipper.
Thanks for sharing. Could you show DAT? I’m just now getting my feet wet lol. God Bless brother.
Yo, I originally saw u doin the gun videos which I love too but man I appreciate the game ur given out . I’m from Texas too & been wanting to try this hot shot stuff too but didn’t really know to start but I never thought I’d find someone so helpful for free! Is this ur only source of income?
No I trade Forex & I’m investing into Airbnb to hopefully roll over into investment properties and fix & flips. Thanks bro I appreciate it.
Hola amigo, que tal estan las cargas para un trailer 36ft no cdl ? Saludos
“I need $3.4 million” 😂
...put some respec on it.
What's up bro? I appreciate your content. Aside from the $$ are you enjoying the box truck as much as riding around on hot shots?
I wish they had something for mid-size trucks like small light loads
I like the info👍I tried hotshot about 3 -4 years ago with a friends rig and loved it.. I tried to stay in the West cause it’s so nice driving but I think that killed my profits and of course the truck broke!! I’m 52 and looking to get back in the game. Is it popping now with the supply chain issues I see on the news? Any help much appreciated 👍
If you need a dispatcher , let me know:)
Hey man. Can I ask? I do need cargo insurance to get loads of these load boards right
Bro make a video how to keep maintaining the truck
Got you!
I have a class A I’m thinking about doing this but like you said I want to lease on to a company first so I can get my feet wet
Great way to learn the ropes
Quick question‼️,in hotshot trucking if I’m a new authority and hire a dispatcher is it possible to get loads 7 days a week and be able to partial ? And for a new authority how much are the loads usually paying ?
Chris quick question. I thought that the new law Feb 7th was saying everyone one the road needed a cdl.
If not that may be a good topic to make a quick video on.
Thanks bro
Bet I got you bro.
Everyone now has to go to CDL school now to get Official CDL
this isnt for non Cdl. that what the update is. non cdl is combined weight of your truck trailer & load under 26000#'s
over 26000# you must have CDL & go to school
You do trailer and box truck? Which do you find more profitable
Good video BUT if the 2 loads your talking about, don’t fit in your tucks, cause your not paying attention to that. Then the money don’t matter either. I get the point tho.
What kind of truck do you have.
Hey Chris being that you're just starting out and relatively new in this business have you had any trouble being able to book loads especially freight because of your inexperience or lack of a long track record hauling these loads? I have a buddy who is just starting out and has been going about 6 months and he's run into a lot of occasions where the brokers are telling him that he needs like a year under his belt to be eligible for some of the higher paying freight loads as opposed to the cheaper stuff like car hauling. Have you run into anything like that and if so how did you deal with it? Thanks for any feedback you can give.
Yeah every now & then but for the most part once you past 90 days it gets easier
Thank you I appreciate it keep grinding fam
Hey Chris! What is a good rate con for hot shot ?
If you really trying to get spicy you can even put some of it on the neck
I feel that tql part 🤣🤣🤣
Why hotshot over box truck? Is your box truck just sitting there or do you have a driver?
What do I need in order to get loads do I need an LLC or should I just download the app
Hot shot seems more headache then Box truck 😅 but I wanna get into this shit too! 🙌🚀
Lol it is but I’m the type that likes challenges like this
You can use the box truck authority to hot shot to
Yup it’s all the same
Did that load say BC as in Canada?? Have you took loads out there before?
Hey Chris can we do this job with rental truck or not ? btw thanks for all videos
Yes u can get a rental from enterprise
Hey Chris, with your box truck did you need to take an air brakes test to add an air brakes endorsement to your license?
No, it’s not required in Texas for any vehicle under 26,000lbs GVWR
Do you have to pay for this truck stop or the one for van/cargo???
how much do you pay to park your trailer and box truck
What up Chris. What do you think about
Having 2 factoring companies? I have OTR but some brokers with good credit scores they don’t factor. Thinking about trying RTS as back up.
Yeah I definitely say have options! You’re the cash cow and all these companies from factoring to brokers to dispatchers even maintenance people, need your business to make money. So make them work for it, if they prices are too high, screw them and go to the next. Nothing moves unless we do.
@@ChrisTV1 Thank you bro. I’m in the box truck game. I’ve learned to stop buying fuel from truck stops even though I have their fuel cards. Fuel is always more expensive at these huge money grabbing truck spots.
Where is the best place to store a trailer?
Hello Chris, I’m new to the dispatching industry ( like 1 month new). I have a carrier that has a hotshot. We are both located in Georgia. I have DAT and 123 loadboard but seem to can’t find any good loads. Any advice ? Also which package do you recommend for truck stop? Thank you for your time and response.
Yeah for hotshots you need TruckStop. That’s where 95% of my loads come from. Go to my hotshot playlist and I have a video there showing how I book my loads. DAT is more for Dry Van/ Power Only work. I pay for the $149 package on TruckStop.
@@ChrisTV1 thank you
Do brokers look at the carriers driving record? Or any trace of who is going to pick up their loads?
@@jevonlemmermann4576 no they just look at the company’s profile to see how many accidents and inspections they failed
@@elyssarobinson2751 hey what do I need to become a dispatcher
💯💯💯
Are there any special requirements or qualifications to use this site
Best way to find work is to stop by construction companies and chat. Bring your whole set up.
Hello Chris my name is Theo I live in Texarkana Texas but iam moving back to Dallas I have a 2500 ram with a 40 ft gooseneck trailer I am in need of work information.
Do you have a email where I can reach out? Would love to follow you in my car for a run or two to see how it's all done .
if your truck and trailer are almost 26k lbs then how much freight can you haul on the trailer as a non cdl?
He did another video where he weighed his truck and trailer and calculated that he can carry a load that weighs 10,000lbs.
My authority will go active end of this month. Hopefully my trailer will be here by then as well. The paperwork getting started ain’t no joke. Me bing CDL adds a few more steps. Any advice for a brand new authority? What about factoring companies?
Otr captiol or RTS Factoring
it aint easy man ill tell you i use a box truck you should be social with other truckers might lead to a connection or even the shippers talk talk talk dont be shy
@@JohnnyGemini actually signed with OTR earlier today. Thanks.
Hey Chris I just got my cdl this past week got my self a truck and 40’ trailer I’m located in west Texas I’m having trouble finding work what should you suggest I do ?
Go on indeed & type in owner operator, and find a company to lease on with.
Can you start at 17 or 18
How do you haul 10,000 plus weight of trailer because you would be over the 10,000lb towing limit for non CDL wouldn’t you?
Can you tell me what all to expect when you get your dot medical card?
Just peeing in a cup, and some reaching/ stretching is all I did.
How much do you take home tho? And is it worth it?
Is there a max weight that can sit on mega ramp? Debating on a straight deck or mega ramps
I’m not sure but they are pretty sturdy, straight deck will give less weight but I’m not sure how strong the ramps are that comes with those I know you can drive trucks up them though fairly easy.
If you don’t mind me asking, how’s your driving record? Does a couple speeding violations stop you from running a gig like this?
I have a clean record, no accidents & no traffic citations in over 10 years. But it wouldn’t stop you but would definitely affect your insurance
What kinda paper work needs to be done after you they agree on the load
Watch more videos, everything you need to know is here
Do you still run your box truck?
Hope you see this man. Did you put your truck in personal name or business
Personal
What are advantages and disadvantages of this vs boxtruck?
Video dropping in the next few weeks
i want to do this
💯💯🔥💯💯
Are you leased under anybody or you have your own authority? If so how bad is the commercial insurance
1800-4k per month
Have you tried uber freight?
How do people do this without a cdl? If I understand if yr truck and trailer is rated for more than 26000 lbs you need a class A cdl.
Correct & this setup is below the 26,000lb GVWR
👍
Class A. The Federal government requires a Class-A CDL to drive any combination of vehicles with a GVWR of 26,001 pounds or more. This includes a towed vehicle heavier than 10,000 pounds. I do believe it went into effect FEB 7. 2022
So my understanding is that the Flatbed HS trailer can Not weigh over 10k trailer and the load.
It’s always been 26k flat with nonCDL as of February 7 it is required to go through an certified class through FMSCA to get you CDL
@@Sancineto do you know anyone school approved by them in Houston? Im looking to get into the business
Is 24% per load a good pay rate for a driver?
I met a brother needing a driver for his hot shot company
If he’s paying gas and insurance
That’s low. Average is 33%
I’m 20 years old looking to get started in this business
Should we give you a standing ovation?
@ChrisTV are you based out of Tampa?
No Dallas
Downloaded the app and do less than 10,000 pound's
in my truck....
I have a 14ft utility trailer 2axel can hold 5k pounds can I find loads on truck stop for my kind of trailer?
It would be hard
So you don’t need a CDL for this and do you have to log?
Correct
I know you just went in at the end about the non cdl part 😂😂😂 but even though you don’t need a cdl does stuff like this require experience or can you just jump in and start?
You can jump in and start, I’d recommend leasing on to a company first to get your feet wet, then do your own thing once you get a better understanding of the industry
Looking to start sometime this year. Any tips on where I can find 16GN 35+5 goosenecks?
Big Tex
GATORMADE trailers will build you whatever trailer you need in 21 days. That’s who I went with, the best option I found
@@Mosby55 yep going next week to pick mine up took order first of the month. I changed a few things and was told three weeks to build. They where very helpful. And will update if anything major happens
