cutter is best for it, but no one can compare with the pure style of the mamba.
This is like turning a train into a bullet, but the bullet still weighs as much as the train.
The mamba was/is my favorite ship just because of its design and base coloration, but even with a good build I always had my windshield break. Always.

I have to say I love the concept of this build, but it's probably the most ridiculously op thing I've fought XD.
It never occurred to me that a higher total mass would equate to higher collision damage in the game. Realistically that would be obvious (KE=0.5MV^2) but I didn't think about it actually being programmed in to the game.

Yeah the ram calculations are really fking weird in elite. On top of mass, each ship has its own built in multiplier and the damage ignores resists

I know nothing about the PVP meta or designing loadouts but now I wonder if it'd be possible to build a cudgel of a ship like this out of one of the Imperial ships, specifically to name it "Shoulder Check" and smack people with the thruster pylons.
Edit: someone in the comments said they built a massively heavy Crusader. Alliance ships are also acceptable shoulder checkers
Imperial Clipper would work best for this.

This video might be over a year old, but I feel like I have to let you know I'm committing to the bonk. I'm about to jump a mamba to colonia to maximize the thiccness of my 4B life support. Could I do it an easier way? Yes. Could I use another ship to take the journey? Probably. Will I suffer? Absolutely. Will it be worth it? Probably not. But I'm going to do it anyway. All glory to the bonk.
I'm still going to remove all the extras before I jump, though. I'm crazy, not stupid.

I've recently tried to replicate this build only with reverb cascade torpedo launchers instead of the class 3 frags. It has had... limited... effectiveness but that's mainly because I'm a horrible pilot and can't hit my rams. It's done especially well against FDLs.
