- Painting the trailer was way easier then what I originally thought. It was daunting but ended up working out awesome. Below are the links to things I have used for this build:

About to paint mine. Have painted cars before. I hate taping so much.. makes my head hurt thinking about it. 🤣
Great job. I have been thinking of tackling this job, but have been a bit afraid to do it. You made it look simple. Thank you!
How much would you charge for a job like this>?
Always Use Acetone as a thinner for the enamel rustoleum it flashes off faster and leaves a real nice shine . been painting race cars and tractors with it for years and you cant beat it. but acetone is the way to go because of how fast it flashes off it will look like a pro did it !
Is there a ratio you prefer?
I was a supervisor for powder and paint coatings...this was a little hard to watch but hey he did it for fun not work..
And your right...never liked mineral spirits...
Hello Jesse, I just want to say thank you for these videos! We just bought an 88 Shasta bumper pull and it's got a few issues but watching your videos relieved me of all my fears and gave me confidence! I know we can do this! Thank you!
Sorry this is a little delayed! (8 months 🤦♂️) but this makes me happy! Hope your project is going well!
2020 the year of the RV!
Looks really good. I am definitely gonna take some tips from you. I just picked up a 26 foot 94 Fleetwood Mallard. Can't wait to get going on this project.
Awesome! Follow me on Instagram and DM me pictures of your progress. Would love to see them.
Hey Jesse, Im looking to paint a 1970's fiberglass trillium trailer. In your more recent video you said that rolling didn't give you the glossy look, and I was wondering if the spayer helped give you a glossy look?
Watching this was so fun to see. Great job and what memories you will make with your family.
Hello, I just wanted to say it looks beautiful! How did u do the front where the big window is that u have wood there?
Great video series Jesse! Camper looks great now all she needs is a fresh set of rims!
looks terrific and clean looking,the oranges and yellows,had to go,take a bow,you kids did yourselves proud,beautiful family-----enjoy
Looking Good Man! I am in the middle of completely restoring a 1969 Shasta, Getting ready for exterior paint in the next few days. Thanks for the Video!
Glad it helped! It wasn't as scary as I thought it was going to be.
Brady, we have a 68 Shasta. Getting close to doing ours. Any tips or advice? Any pics of how yours turned out? Thanks
Is this an aluminum trailer...that's metal right?
Looks great sir I'm doing the same thing to mine 😊😊
Looks very cool. I have the same feeling of nervousness that I don't want to screw it up too. I have a 2003 coleman popup where I removed the decals. Now I need to paint it.
Thank you! Our second trailer remodel is coming out in a couple weeks! We focus a ton on the painting process. Make sure you subscribe!
Hi there. From the looks of it, you probably resealed everything (corner trims, window trims, beads, etc. etc) before painting? I restoring a trailer and not sure if I should do all of that before painting or after? Basically - I need to re-caulk the whole trailer from taillights to corner connections to windows, etc.
IMO I would do all the resealing first then paint for a more finished look
Looks great. How many gallons of paint did you use. Going to paint a 26’er. Suggestions?
I used less than one gallon per color. It was way less than expected.
My wife and I are restoring an old 1975 nomad similar to this one, how do you recommend sanding and repainting the frame that is all rusted? Do you have a local business in Utah? We are also residents.
Hey there! I would definitely sand off all the rust. We did. It will make it easier for primer to stick.
I'm about to do the same and looking for reference material. so was very helpful thank you!
I'll probably go for a more silver/light grey to match the aluminium of the window frames so they don't stand out too much.
I probably also go for a mid grey for the contrast, as I find black a bit too harsh.
Great job man, well done and thanks for sharing!
Hope your paint job went well!
Looks great! Amazing transformation! I’m doing a 69 Dodge RV and been debating about changing the interior colors and outside. Redoing floors definitely, and bathroom but hesitant on the rest of the interior. But seeing yours kinda makes me want to do it. It’s a rare model and only has 22k miles on it. So not a lot of wear and tear. But love the updated look 👍
It was scary repainting the camper. As soon as you start, there is no going back. But I'm glad it came out so well!
How has the paint held up
Super appreciate your tips!
Was the j-rail and trim the original aluminum or did you swap that out?
It had looked like it had been replaced before us.
Hey! We are needing to make a rock guard for the front window on our camper. We want to make a wooden one, just like this. How did you do it? What kind of hinges did you purchase?
What was the mixing ratio? Paint to Mineral Spirits?
I didn't do a specific amount but just tired to get a consistent thickness. You don't want it too watery, just thin enough to allow the sprayer to spray evenly.
There should be instructions that come with your paint sprayer about how to thin it out
Hello Question did you reseal the window so your windows don,t leak other then that super.
The 70’s called, they want their colors back ;)
Thank you, it looks great
JON Gergeceff thanks!

How much mineral spirits did you mix into primer?
How has the paint held up?
How is it holding up?
Ref thinning the paint, what ratio did you use?
Looks incredible!!
Gail McCanless thank you!
Mineral spirits?
Yes I used mineral spirits to thin the paint. You can get them at any walmart, home depot, or lowes.
Now what you need to do is replace all those rusty screws around every one of those outside window frames.👍🇺🇸🛠
Glenn Grider yeah I definitely need too. But for now, it works. That is something I can do down the road
How much mineral spirts do you use to thin the paint before spraying
Honestly I balled the amount. I’ve sprayed enough in this sprayer that I can kinda just go off of feeling. Sorry for the crappy answer. Lol
Did you paint the metal trim around the edges and the awning rail white?
Yeah we did. If you check out the latest video we went through and added a new awning as well!
do you think you could do this with brushes and rollers just fine??
I think Spraying is the best move!
Looks great!! Enjoy!!
Looks great! Did you seal the roof with anything prior to painting the body?
We used some Flex Seal around the vents and made sure that that there were no leaks.
Did you sand the primer before painting?
We sanded and primed before painting. It worked great!
Super cool. I have around the same year RV that I am trying to refurbish. What is the exterior paneling made of anyway? Also need to repair roof.
Thank you! My exterior panels were aluminum. Our second trailer remodel is coming out in a couple weeks! Make sure you subscribe!
@@Mullenthemaker Thanks!
Looks so good!
Can you tell me about how you built the rock guard?
It's actually episode #1 of the trailer series! check it out on my channel
