Minecraft 1.21 introduced the Trial Spawner, we can use this block found inside the Trial Chamber strucutre to farm slimes! Slimes can spawn from Trial Spawners, this makes for an easy alternative to grindy slime farms.

Nice concept! That could be really nice for AFK Nights without a really complex slime farm!
It is me! I am the one who merely needs a sticky piston or two every month or so.
It's always nice to see simple farms designed for casual players! Just because I _can_ redstone with a good Litematica doesn't mean I always _want_ to.
@@SkyGravity137 :checks wiki for spawning details: Ah, thank you! In contrast to a traditional spawner that can spawn mobs outside walls that are too close, "line of sight to the spawner" should successfully limit the trial spawner's 4-block spherical spawning radius no matter how close you set the walls.
It's worth noting that you don't need to light up any caves in swamp slime farms, especially smaller ones, since you can just AFK from higher up. So the effort level for that farm is much lower and competitive with a spawner-based farm design.
I missed the occasional farm tutorials. It's nice to have better up-to-date ones! Thank you Xisumavoid!
I love this. I've been watching your tutorials for years. If you are looking for a challenge X, I'd love to see you make bedrock edition farms.
Seeing this video reminded me of how Mumbo Jumbo unintentionally revolutionized slime farming in season 9 with his failed slime farm.
The trial chambers gonna be fun
Please keep up the casual farms, It’s very helpful!
Love your approach to “try it out yourself if you’ve got an idea”. That is truely Minecraft!
I was looking for simple farm ideas because I just got a realm for me and the kids! Thanks. 😊
I needed this, i love slime but hate making slime farms 😂 thanks X ❤
This was nice and handy tutorial!
i usually get myself an iron golem & magma blocks and head for the swamp when i'm in need for a quick slime farm (high afk spot ofc) but they only work some nights lol. glad to see you tackle these kind of farms as well, will definitely try this in the future!
Slimes only spawn in the swamp during a full moon. That's why it only works during some nights!
@@danielwubs5178They spawn all nights other than ones with a new moon, but full moons have the highest rates.
@@danielwubs5178technically its every night except the new moon, the rates correspond with the moon's fullness so a full moon is the best rates.
@@danielwubs5178 that's not true. the moon phase only influences how many slimes spawn. on full moon there is the most slime spawning and only on new moon do no slimes spawn at all.
@@Oguzhan5585_ ah sorry i misremembered.
I am defiantly gonna need to make this is my newly started Hardcore Lets Play!
You could set up a rail system that rotates the player around various farms in the trial chambers, triggered by the completion drops from the spawners.
this is pretty freakin sweet, love it
Great tutorial!
Good tutorial.
So I always go to a new area and make a bunch of farms, until I need some new resource and move to a new location again.
This structure will most probably be one of those areas somewhere in the future. And then I can have a slow slime farm just running while I do something else.
I mean, I did just add 2 sniffers in a new pumpkin/melon farm I was building, and they're sniffing seeds while I'm in the building next to it feeding mooshrooms.
considering that this is for casual player, they could also use an old computer (or a low powered one) to have themselves AFK for a work week (Let's say Sunday evening to Friday afternoon)
with such a long time there should be quite a lot afterwards
Would be nice to have a casual player / getting started series for fast and easy farms that either get you the few items you randomly need or to help get you the materials for building bigger farms.
Thats a really clever idea, I wonder if you could do that with the other spawners in the area and create a larger multi mob farm?
I wonder, of you put the player in a minecart and every 5 minutes or so sent the player off to another spawner, how efficient it would be. Set up farms for every trial spawner in the dungeon, and have the player automatically sent to each one, one by one, until it loops back to the first.
I think most people aren't aware that the swamp based farm doesn't necessarily require a ton of brown mushrooms. You can build the farm with any light source you want as long as you make sure that the light level is >=1 everywhere. It won't be as efficient as it could be, but brown mushrooms are in no way required for it to work.
Building a box in the swamp with an iron golem and an item collection doesn't really take much longer than the farm in the video. And it will 100% be a lot faster
For swamp slimes to spawn, you still need to ensure that the light level is no higher than 7, though; that's why the mushrooms are so useful. But glow lichen on a ceiling also works, and for a single level farm, the new oxidized copper bulbs will be even better. Redstone torches or candle pairs won't take away too many spawning spaces, but I don't think there are low-level light sources other than mushrooms that allow slimes to spawn in them. They may be able to spawn on sculk catalyst, but bonemealing brown mushrooms is less effort than getting that.
Slime balls are always such a pain to get, this is really nice for the off-chance I need a sticky piston or a slime block :)
It's so cute how xisuma says tutorial 😂
'Titurial'
Thank you for doing a simple farm that's not intended to produce thousands of items per hour that would take a casual player hours to build.
You could probably set up Golems in a lot of these spawner rooms and just visit the chambers when you're low on resources.
Thank god, I had to take computer science just to figure out how to make some of the farms here on youtube
you should make a video on how to fix the vanilla tweaks kelp top being a missing texture after disabling the pack pls
Some say Mumbo is still trying to get his slime farm to produce slime balls.
Unless you are building insanely big projects that require slime, this farm is actually about as big/fast as 95% of players need. Much more, and you end up getting slime out your ears. Also, it usually isnt worth it to many players to spend all the time building the more complex farms
While there are swamp based and slime chunk based farms, you forgot the best of them all, the sneezy panda based slime farm, clearly the best because it works in peaceful
For a casual player I actually recommend building your underground base in slime chunks so they keep bothering you while you work so you get slime balls. That's what I did!
Typo "strucutre" in description
You, however, can't be bothered to end your sentence with a period. I wouldn't be calling people out.
FANTASTIC! Thanks X!
It's nice that there's another option. Finding a swamp is unreliable depending on the world, and slime chunks farms are one of the most tedious farms to build if you don't cheat. Even if the rate is low, if its AFKable, rate is almost never an issue. By time it becomes an issue for massive projects, you'd already have the resources needed to easily make a full-blown slime farm anyways.
While it remains to be seen just how common they will be, trial chambers are already hard enough to find and rare enough; and you need to get one with a slime spawner.
@@jeffreyblack666 True, but that's the nature of minecraft. Its always rng,.
Curious: Would this set up work for other spawners in the chamber too? Like zombies, skeletons, the new Breeze?
Probably
Most mobs will avoid damage dealing blocks in their pathfinding. Slime are one of the exceptions. And if they have ranged attack (skeletons, strays, breeze), they will probably try to shoot you from afar, rather than approach into the killing area.
they will generally not pathfind onto magma blocks unfortunately, but you may be able to trick some mobs into falling into a 2-deep magma-lined pit via flipped-down trapdoors on the edge of it.
i haven't tested it personally so keep that in mind
This will vary depending on mob.
Most mobs will happily pathfind to the player, even over magma.
However, spiders will then climb the wall, so they wont work well.
Mobs with ranged attacks will instead choose to attack the player.
You may be better with a water flushing system which turns on and off
Good idea 😮
You don't need a slime farm if you have a cave base in bedrock edition because they spawn in like crazy in lit up caves.
I have stacks of slime balls stored in chests and its to the point i throw them away so they don't fill my inventory up all the time i go there.
Everyone else: easy farms that you can light up without preventing spawn rates.
Me: Respawning pets, if I choose to live in one of these! Don't even need name tags. Just to build a glass cage.
That room you died in, in that other video with all the poison arrow skeletons could be good for farming a lot of whatever mob spawns there. And by putting blocks on top of the spawners the items should be forced off of them when they give you your rewards. So no real worry about that.
I wish you could change what spawns by changing the blocks around them though, so I can have more unique pets and everyone else can have more unique farms.
Did they fix Copper Bulbs 💡 yet? (Restore the one tick updates?)
Why did I read "Grind Free" as "Grian Free"
"Ah yes this slime farm is 100% free of Grians!"
Farm contains no buttons, so "Grian Free" could still work.
I still think the swamp slime farms are more balanced, but you can build this if you find one I guess
I'd just go to a swamp at night.
Maybe you got more slime now because there are two players in the area? Should be a bug in that case though, because spectators shouldn't matter.
Now i can make the
ULTIMATE TRAMPOLINE
Is it just me, or did minecraft steal Iskall85s vaulthunters idea. You go into a trial room/vault, and when you get close to spawners, it spawns and then breaks. 😂
Can you substitute an Iron Golem for the player, or are all Trial Chamber spawners activated only by the player?
They're activated by the player and need player line of sight.
The problem is that if you are a casual player, you likely wont want to AFK. Instead you likely want to play for a while then do something else.
So this is only really viable if you set up your base near one and you go visit it.
Why? AFK isn't some technical stuff, it's just leaving your game running while making dinner or even going to bed.
@@paulelderson934 Because most casual gamers turn off their device when they are done. Some may leave it open when they are making dinner, often coming back periodically, but typically when they are finished with a game, they close it.
And this requires them to set up before they go AFK, i.e. they need to go back to the trial chamber and into their AFK spot.
And if they want that AFK to be meaningful, they need to do so for at least 30 minutes to get the second spawn.
And it is technical in the sense on needing to find a structure, which has a specific spawner.
We can even look at a game like stray as an example.
Based upon the achievements roughly 56% of people completed it.
83% of people have meowed 100 times.
43% of people have dunked the basketball.
84% of people have put on the paper bag.
89% of people have reached the point in the game where they could do that.
But only 27% of people have slept for an hour.
That requires no skill, no commitment, just finding a spot to lie down and staying there for 1 hour. Yet most casual players don't do that.
This is easily the best minecraft channel out there!
Considering I have several double chests full of shulkers full of slime blocks, I think I'm good for slime now lol
😄 👍 👌 🎉
Can you change what mobs spawn if you change out the corner blocks?
The mob inside doesn't appear until it detects a player.
You changing the corner blocks won’t affect what’s inside the Shawnee, they’re just there to let you know from a distance what’s inside it
Yep. It did take up a long time: I dug out 3 adjacent slime chunks, plus half a chunk on each side, all the way to what was then bedrock.
And I lighted all the caves in the neighborhood.
That was 5 years ago.
But it does remind me: I need to light up the caves that generated at minus levels.
Tu-too-rielle
Chew-tor-rial
Great. It has been cheesed.
Time to make Minecraft so automatic I no longer need to play the game.
mine mechanic. but calling it a farm is kinda overreach :P
GOAT!!!
At this point they should just let us craft mob spawners and make the spawn eggs you put into it a really rare drop. They could balance it by making it require a beacon to workthere's plenty of mods that exist and they made this system perfectly balanced. (you still need to kill a ton of the mobs to even get the egg you're after)
Comment👍
Does anyone else think the copper corners look odd on the spawner?
The trial chambers seem to be tapping into the battle royale aesthetic from games like fortnite, and I hate it
@@NightKnight347 How? Can you please give an example? I am having difficulty seeing the similarities.
