Wow I loved this, the raw troubleshooting. I was talking to the screen about what I would be asking and doing. I learned a lot about the framing the question and the four business goal prompts. I'm definitely going to be practicing this with my mentor.
I really like how you laid out your process. even more simple. and i like how you say that is your process. I think i was too rigid and followed frameworks I've found online too strictly, and maybe spent too much time on understanding the problem. super helpful tips about the interviews sprinkled along the way. thanks!
I super love your approach! This is a structured framework to unpack and tackle design (business) problems! I just hope you'll add more technical limitations/opportunities approach in your next Mock interview videos. Thanks, boys, great video!
What happens if you don't know what an ecommerce platform normally looks like? (or whatever product they have you design in the test). Can you ask for references or a different problem to solve?
in the real world you would do a competitor analysis to check what other companies are doing. You could verbally say that to your interviewer and they should give you more information to proceed in the challenge
the guy in glasses is just getting lost in tiny details and shows no conceptual thinking, I was watching the whole thing at x2 speed already but had to stop because of him altogether
I’ve only watched this video for 18 mins but I can’t help tying my comments down below. This is the most informative whiteboard teaching video I’ve ever seen! I Love it. How to contact you if I need mock interview? Thank you
@@RichardYangux I have your articles almost every day since I found them online :) super helpful. I will definitely book a 1:1 session with you at some point next month or in September hopefully.
Landed the job i did my first whiteboarding challenge for! Watched this video literally a few days before and prepped, it helped TONS :)
Congrats! Thanks for sharing 😊 this is motivation to make more videos (and actually edit them this time) 😂😂😂
Went through a lot of videos on YT. This is by far the best and most useful video for Whiteboarding challenge. Thanks a lot Richard 🙏🏼
agreed - even though the interviewee struggled a bit, it was so helpful to see this happening in real time
I've botched my last 2 interviews when it came to design challenges, wish I found these videos sooner!

It's a very nice session to see the whole process. We can learn a lot from it!
This was very helpful! Thank you for sharing it.
I would of started with the "why" in this example to better understand the goal. Then the "Who" and "What" etc.
This came at the right time!

They’ll usually let you take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the patterns or choose something you have more context in
Thanks for this! Are these types of questions asked during internship interviews as well, or mainly full-time jobs?
This is common for both :)
Seems to be getting lost in the weeds. But good job keeping him on track.
