    She seems really calm and sweet. I've never seen a horse walk this way, have you had a veterinarian take a look at her hind legs or an equine chiropractor? I hope she's not in pain.

    A beautiful gal on a beautiful horse❣️ Wow…this was so nice to see and joyful for Rose. She is a very smart and sweet horse. Thank you so much for sharing…nothing you do is boring-always film it! May I give my 2 cents on the music? Well, personally I would much rather hear you and Rose interacting, the sound of her hooves on the ground, the saddle squeaking, a bird singing and the crickets, cricketing😘 Thank you for all that you do for God’s amazing creatures♥️

    Vet chiropractor may help. I think it’s in her back tailbone area.

    Made me smile! Do adopters get a PPE? I would want a vet to figure out where the oddity comes from. Perhaps it can be fixed with Chiropractic or other therapy. Although it does not seem painful now, it may become troublesome when she reaches (25!). 😅.

    • @rhfarmstables
      @rhfarmstables  10 месяцев назад +1

      We welcome and encourage PPEs at adopters expense

    She stood nicely while you got in the saddle but why is she throwing her back legs , hip trouble or?

    • @rhfarmstables
      @rhfarmstables  10 месяцев назад +2

      It's a gait abnormality, not sure just yet

    Its like her rear knees do not bend well. Mostly her right knee.
    I wonder if she had a sports injury and was not treated for it and now its too late. (I suffered a sport injury years ago and never had it repaired so I can relate)

    I think she was a barrel racing horse because of the way she trotted and her cantor. I know because her age you wouldn’t want to go too fast, but the way her demeanor was in wanting to go makes sense to me that might be why? The way to test her is if you have a barrel or can borrow one ? You put it out where ever you ride her, and see what she does around it. You would lead her to the barrel 1st and see how she reacts, and if she scared like she never seen one then you would stop, and remove it.

      @rhfarmstables  10 месяцев назад +2

      She actually did some really quick turns that made me think of barrels! We'll have to see

      Awesome I could see she was wanting to go. I feel like she was accepting you as her human, and she was being her authentic self. She and her buddies was in such sad condition with not enough food or physical care, but you gave her unconditional love, and she trusted you. This is huge in such a short time. Oh and she was wanting to show you her appreciation for saving her by what she breed for and you might be surprised how fast an old lady can run because she still has some get up and go lol 💗

    Have you checked her hocks? She seems stiff in both and not moving well in the back. As an older girl she may be a bit arthritic?

    • @rhfarmstables
      @rhfarmstables  10 месяцев назад +2

      It's a longstanding defect, we haven't figured it out completely just yet. Diagnostics cost $! We do know she's comfortable, she freely moves about the pasture

    Have you considered having a chiropractor look at her hind? May be a needed adjustment.

    • @rhfarmstables

      Yes - this is a longstanding issue unfortunately!

    Her butt muscles look really tight, almost like they are in spasm. PSSM? I wonder if trotting is somehow more comfortable for her. So strange; I hope she gets more comfortable

    Hmmm, her right rear leg has a funny movement, not sure what you call it. It seemed less noticeable in the initial part of the ride.

    Do you think maybe trotting is easier for her than walking?

    • @rhfarmstables

      Yes because of her muscle scarring

  • @guatemarisa

    Looks like fibrotic myopathy to me. I have a Paint with that in one hind leg. Mostly doesn't bother him unless he gets ridden hard or has a lot of cranking on his hind legs.

    Is your plan to adopt her out as is or continue with some therapy? And can you keep us up-to date if you get a diagnosis? I am very curious about what is wrong with her.

      This is just an evaluation - so we can accurately represent her training for potential homes. Research shows exercise is great for older horses if thet enjoy it
