When you're a kid, or even in your early/mid-twenties, birthdays were "excuses" to indulge or be indulged. It was something to look forward to because something that would be too much to ask for during the rest of the year was justified (within monetary, legal, and logistical reason) because it's your birthday. Once you hit 27, though, the weeks pass by more quickly, soon enough it's your birthday again, and even if you don't celebrate it as a big deal, even if you just allow yourself to do whatever you feel like, and all you're hoping for is that it's a "good" day, there's no guarantee that it'll feel any better than any other day. The not having died for another year become a matter of fact. You can, however, delight in whatever small accomplishments there are for that 24-hour period.

I never once felt like “ah man I gotta try this” or “well everyone else is doing it why don’t I?” because I’ve seen so many things where people become hooked on drugs or alcohol and their whole lives fall apart. I, personally, never wanted that to happen to me. I only ever saw the good in seeing people who fell to rock bottom then leading a sober life and how happy and fulfilled they were after the fact and that always was more appealing to me. Keep that big egg head filled with positivity and keep on the right track
good job, you just gotta ride with it if people try to be awkward about it. i find it annoying when people are like "are you sureee you don't want a drink". if you treat sobriety like it's normal and stay firm about it then i think others eventually don't really think about it, whereas if you treat it like a 'thing' then it's probably gonna be one.

I remember watching videos where you were perhaps struggling finding your way but you've really made a way up for yourself and I'm happy for you, hope you yourself are proud too. Consuming drugs, alcohol being a legal drug, is quite costly, maybe you can reflect on your "drug spending" and channel the newly saved money into new hobbies or spending them on fun activities. That being said, I live in a flat in Slovenia my whole life, I do live in the warmer part of the country, so winters are usually mild, though I need very minimal heating (using AC in both winters and summers) because of getting passive heating from both my upper and lower neighbors + the sun. xd Though summers are annoying af for me, this same sun is making me want to kill myself at times when it's extremely hot... You win some you lose some I guess.

I don’t drink either. It would always make me feel absolutely rubbish the day after… you’re right that it does make socialising difficult though. Not to suggest I’m good at socialising ever/during the day though. I am not.
I don't drink alcohol either and I'm very happy. If we have to have a drink to become more social than something isn't right. We should be ourselves and not in a state where someone can take advantage of us. Be proud of your achievement - you're not generic, you're unique :)
