My Experimental Newman Motor/Generator. Part 1 of 2

  • In my early days of learning the fundamentals of electronics, one of my favorite hobbies was building homemade generators and motors. Part of what drove me was the idea that a motor could be built to produces more output energy than it consumed. Even though I had been warned that such a motor violated the 2nd law of thermodynamics and could never work, I was still attracted to the idea of finding out what's possible through experimenting, rather than blindly accepting boundaries that others have stated to be true.
I was also motivated by a gentleman named Joseph Westley Newman who claimed to have built such a motor.
Generally speaking anyone claiming to have produced an electric motor capable of producing more energy than it consumed was written off as a lunatic, but Mr Newman was getting so much media attention, as well as attention from people with scientific backgrounds it was hard to just write him off, and found myself ordering a book and videotape produced by Mr Newman trying to see what more I could learn about Mr Newman's motor, but also found myself disillusioned when some of his public demonstrations were conducted in a manner that made following his test results very difficult.
One thing I often wondered about was Mr Newman claim his motors were capable of producing many times more energy than they consumed, but there was never a time where he would remove the batteries from his motor, and attach a separate generator to his motors output shaft and recycle some of the mechanical torque back into electrical power to drive his motors input..
For a while Mr Newman had a great many followers who tried to replicate his motor on small scale, but no one that I'm aware of has ever built one to the scale which Joe had. Probably because of the time and cost involved with building such a large motor.
According to what Joe taught a key point to producing a motor as he described would be to wind an extremely large stater coil, and to have an extremely large magnetic rotor which spun inside the coil, He also used a segmented commutator to pulse his input coil, but at a later point claimed a segmented commutator was no longer necessary..
I've posted a link to an interesting documentary on his life so you can decide for yourself. • Joseph Newman
I've also produced a part 2 to this first video. • Experimental Newman Mo...

After looking at Joseph Newman’s video, it does look like you are on the right track. I believe that Joseph Newman uses a flywheel to store mechanical energy (like a battery) on the rotor. Whether what Joseph Newman is producing is free energy or not, it’s at minimum a very high-efficiency motor. Check out his ‘Big Eureka’ concept for the heavy flywheel. Great video!

I think that calling them free energy generators throws people off. It would be more accurate to call them converters. We are surrounded by energy all the time, these machines just convert it into a form we can use. It can be unlimited, however its not generating anything.

Thanks!!! The secret to the Newman motor which everyone seems to leave out of their projects is heavy flywheel spinning which does the actual work , which equals horse power. And a capacitor bank parallel with batteries to absorb the backspike to feed actual amperage to the run batteries along with the voltage. Do not use a power supply, batteries only. The caps are storage also. Your speed will increase along with effencie. Please try this, I would like to see an update of this, by the way, I would love to have that machine!!!

It was a 5000 lb magnet and after he got it spinning fast, he went inside and turned everything on and went back to the garage. The scientists said "your batteries are getting low'' to which he replied, ''I know'' and proceeded to unplug the motor from the batteries, plugged it into the wall and then plugged the battery charger in and went back inside, sat down and started watching tv with the AC on! It depends highly on the used commutator materials... If you use Graphite and copper you get these nice huge Backspikes Newman described in his book...if you are using other materials or just transistors the effect does not occur...it it some kind of battery effect you produce, when Dissimular Metals like copper and graphite touch and generate a voltage... The Spark is then just the "conductive electrolyte"... Regards Stefan.

      Not accurate.
The laws of physics that no matter is created or destroyed, and that no energy is created, only transformed are flawed laws.
Their premise is correct but limited by “space”. In a ideal vacuum where all parameters could be controlled, they laws may be accurate but it’s ideal and not realistic.
The sun and globe spiral in a space that we cannot define. Centrifugal, gravitational, solar rays may all be finite sources of energy, but if their source energy source is greater than our life time they are sources worth harnessing.
Magnetism and electromagnetism are power sources that can be harnessed. They output forces greater than the ones introduced.
Perpetual motion is possible. Or a perpetual generator that feeds on energy sources that are not consumable in a lifetime are possible.
In my humble opinion. I know that is over simplified but... I don’t think we need to over complicate things either.

Here goes, when you take a magnet the shape of a doenut and put N fracking N they will never touch when placed on a dowel pole. Using this idea, you can take the same magnets and place them onto a fixture. The one is placed fixed, the other one you have attached to a connecting rod just like a gasoline engine. You will have to use Mumetal to short out the magnetic fields when the piston is going back up to have both magnets next to each other. The the mu metal shield has to instantly be removed. This will force the engine to cycle again and again. This has to work, as it does work when one uses his hand to move the metal in and out.
Does that make sense ??? Peace vf

I think the secret to the Neumann machine is that there was a secondary component where an electromagnet was made from the motion of permanent magnets, which acted like a lock of sorts extending the power generated.
I'm not saying it right but a video from the Lasersaber youtube channel a few years ago made me think that had to of been the answer to the Neumann machine.

We have fusion and we're working on fusion. I call quasars gravitational reactors. They turn matter into energy through gravity. One left. Magnetism. And Newman stumbled upon a magnetic reactor.

@@GrantsPassTVRepair I will keep you in mind if I come across that article again. Also I was wondering if you could utilize the following information for your experiments. The information came to me by way of my friend Pamela Aaralyn around 2016. She channeled Nikola Tesla and she asked me if I wanted to share it. I did but it but none in my circles at that time utilized it. This is only a small section of the four-page transcript: Does raising the frequency of a Tesla Coil increase its power?
"You would need to utilize a Class E RF amplifier. I prefer one made by Nathan and Alan Sokal in 1975. The Class E amplifier makes use of a resonant circuit to get around the usual problems of switching power semiconductors at high frequencies. This topology is now finding commercial success in high power radio transmitters and RF generators for plasma generation and induction heating. High voltage MOSFETs are the usual choice of switching device.
Advantages of the Class E power amplifier:
      1. Simple design uses only one switching device.
      2. Eliminates turn-on losses due to stored energy in the devices output capacitance.
      3. Eliminates turn-on losses due to overlap of voltage and current when device turns on.
      4. Zero-voltage at turn-on eliminates Miller effect due to drain-gate capacitance.
      5. Minimizes turn-off losses by limiting rate of rise of voltage when device turns on.
      6. Circuit makes use of stray capacitance and inductance that would normally be hindrance.
      7. Very high efficiency (90 - 95%) so very little power to be dissipated as heat.
      8. Low EMI and harmonic output because of the smooth drain voltage and soft switching.
Perhaps the main disadvantage of the Class E arrangement is that it is relatively intolerant of incorrect matching into its load. Whilst load matching is usually a good radio transmitter, this intolerance to mismatching may cause problems when put to service as a Tesla Coil driver."
What are we missing in terms of how to harness energy, today? "Copper, quartz and magnets, that simple. The pull of the magnet catalyzes the copper to affect the quartz. The energy within the quartz then is harnessed like a centrifuge - it disperses and then returns to its’ center. If my vision in my human time had prevailed, you would be now tapping into solar energy from space.”
Here is a power source that utilizes radio waves to produce power: Goodbye Global Warming - Maxwell Chikumbutso New Green Energy - Saith Power - Greener Power Machine: ruclips.net/video/EZfPvjURcm8/видео.html

There is no breaking of the law of thermodynamics in a working Overunity concept. There are a lot of energy fields we do Not see with our eyes that such a generator Would tap into. Such as an antenna for atmospheric electricity. (wich is the closest concept of free energy that i can comfirms is real). (without the use of water or sun light)
Read a book called "shape power".
You May find some useful insight in the quest for free energy. It is all about the science of shapes and how they can be appllied to produce some satisfying results. The same author has also written a book on free energy.

I'm not sure I understand the criticisms in some of the comments. Sure, there are no white lab coats and no clipboards with a slew of numbers and measurements. But this is still a bare-bones version of the scientific process at work here. Someone says: "I achieved X" (in this case free energy, but it doesn't really matter). And then you're supposed to say: "I don't believe you. Let me see if I can replicate your results." As long as you don't bend your experiment to fit your own preconceptions (which he didn't), I don't see anything wrong with it.
You could perhaps make the argument that even looking for free energy is a waste of resources. But they're his resources to waste, and he seems to be having fun.
So what exactly is the issue?

The biggest problem with perpetual motion machines is the friction. It's the friction what eventually slow down the machine untill is stops.
Another fun projects are the socalled "Joule thief" circuits, where a single AA battery can power a LED for a week and pull the AA battery almost completely empty (till 0,3a0,4V). Those "Joule thiefs" can sometimes be found in LED torches, where they use the popular HH004F LED Driver. This LED driver looks like a transistor, and needs only a single inductor for powering multiple LED's with 1 AA battery.
With such a LED driver i have already powered 20 White power LED's with 1 AA battery.
The basic schematic of such a LED driver can be found here :
    www.circuitsdiy.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/HH004F_LED_driver_Circuit.png
The maximum operating voltage of this LED driver is 6V , and it will produce a clean squarewave pattern of more then 200Khz (depending on the supplied voltage).

Us mere mortals here on earth will probably never be able to make a free energy machine. But no harm in trying. And while free energy violates the laws of thermodynamics, the universe is expanding faster and faster all the time which technically violates the 3rd law of thermodynamics. The driving force behind the expansion of the universe is vacuum energy which is the result of the uncertainty principle. Whether that vacuum energy could ever be harness is questionable. But it most likely would involve black holes (Look up Hawking radiation). In science friction, there was even a Star Gate episode where the ancients attempted to use vacuum energy but had given up on the idea.

I always find it interesting that it is claimed to be impossible, but the theory of thermodynamics was 1850's -- before modern bearings, and concepts of electricity and magnetism. One thing people like to point to is the patent office refuses to patent any such device; however, that same group rejects patents for paragraph and line numbering mistakes, grammatical errors, and having too many words in the abstract... and let Marconi steal Tesla's work, Bell steal Gray's work, and many others. Engineering should be based on mathematical formulas, so where are the numbers for thermodynamics (bearing friction, atmospheric resistance, and other factors)? I have to think someone has done this work, and wish to see it. Thanks.

This isn’t a knock on you just the overall language used in alternative energy circles. But I believe that wide spread use of the term perpetual motion, in reference to any of a huge array of technologies, only serves to keep wider society from taking any of it seriously. When the average person hears perpetual motion, their brain automatically shuts down to anything you have to say. It completely poisons the well and serves to ensure lack of interest, and most importantly funding from the wider scientific community. Take any number of the most important tech innovations over the past 20 years and before showing them publicly, call it perpetual motion. Odds are it would still just be great idea that lost out to a different tech with better press.

Just read some Tesla, and find the line about taking 10W of energy stored in a capacitor, and turning into millions of HORSEPOWER.---ask yourself, why he didn't say millions of Watts. Then find the Tibor Kemeny patent. You might figure it out then. Before you ask, two answers. 1) Yes it's hidden in plain site. 2) No you can't get rich off of it.

Many years ago someone who worked with Joe told me they concluded the commutator with the short out segments was not necessary. It appears he didn't use that complex commutator on all of his motors. If you listen carefully to this part of his video I have linked to he says his motor is operating at Two pulses per revolution.
