Fun fact. The character was meant to get a film way back when that would have featured Stan Lee casting Brandon Lee in the role. Effectively having Bruce Lee’s son play Bruce Lee
"Trained since birth" makes me think of the post about the baby ankle weights made for very active babies and how you're essentially training them from birth to never skip leg day and by the time they're old enough to throw a decent kick they could kick through a wall
@NullLex00 if you really train them like adults, yes it is very bad But at the same time, I have to say babies have amazing strength in their abs, because just imagine how long and much they lay on their stomach kicking in the air
I remember an X-Men comic from the 90's in which Shang-Chi guest-starred. In it Scott Summers and Jean Grey were keeping tabs on him, rendered for all intents and purposes, invisible by Jean's mental abilities. However, Shang-Chi was still able to spot them, despite having no telepathic powers of his own, just because his senses were so sharp.
My introduction to Shang-Chi was in Ultimate Spider-Man where we see he and Iron Fist dining at a restaurant. Hammerhead and his goons show up as his goons have been telling him about this unkillable man. Hammerhead upon seeing the two, laughs pulls out his gun, and fires. Shang-Chi sets the bullet he caught down and throws Hammerhead out the window. It was there where I realised Shang-Chi is a name I shouldn't forget. Plus in the mainline continuity Shang-Chi helps Spider-Man train when the latter lost his spider sense due to plot.
Honestly one of the best fight scenes I've seen in cinema in recent years, amazing choreography and cinematography to back it up. Also it's really refreshing to just watch lots of skilled martial artists duke it out with minimal magical interference
My favorite part of this episode was the iron fist and daredevil comparison, Charlie Cox needs to come back as matt Murdock he is one of my favorite marvel characters
I love the basic concept behind the fighting style in Equilibrium. It is, if I recall correctly, that any group of gunmen are gonna group up in certain ways or minor variations, so you can anticipate where they'll be coming from and just go trigger happy.
Shangxi has trained many martial artists in the Marvel universe including Spiderman. When Spiderman lost his danger sense for a sort time he asked Shangxi to helo him develop his own martial art taking advantage of his superhuman agility and strength to offset liss of dange sense power. Thats why Spiderman is even more dangerous now when his danger sense returned
I like the chemistry in this episode. Y’all didnt seem like you were going though the motions. Genuine interest there with lucas, probably caused you’re both super hyped.
Saw the movie and... SPOILERS [I mean, is it spoilers? It's nothing related to the movie itself, and it's kind of a given] They did not top off daredevil, but I think they came kind of close to john wick, which for me is very much above anything I've seen before, atleast I could understand what was happening most of the time.
I unfortunately am not that big of a fan of Shang-Chi but was really interested to see if Fin Fang Foom showed up. I enjoyed the film but was disappointed with the latter part.

Honestly, from the title I thought that they were going to cover Wild Cat. He is apparently a DC character who was a former professional Boxer and even trained Bruce Wayne in Boxing when he was only ten. Apparently Wild Cat was such a good Boxer that he had no powers, just a cat suit and his fists. Well that's what I've heard about him, anyway.
The accomplished fisherman thing alludes to a Chinese proverb: "A good regent is a patient fisherman." Can't get over that comment on yesterday's video that was saying something like "the shift to blue screen is disappointing, your shirt would've been perfect for the green one". I mean, honestly. Can't go one goddamn video without the greenscreen shenanigans without people complaining.
I want some Fist of the North Star bullshit references in that film. Screams, jabs a bunch of pressure points, then the opponent is like "what, that didn't do anything" "You're already dead." Explosion of body parts.
