Were these crawler tractors originally called the Stalingrats ? Looks old technology but very effective very suitable for their applications. Least ways the Ivan's sticks with what works !

Diesel electric drive, same as railway Locos which have had it for years. Caterpillar have it in the new D 6 XE and D11 XE.
