To address Mecca's point of Kai not knowing the violators, yes, it's true that some of the most famous artists in rap were signed to Violator, as it was a MANAGEMENT COMPANY. They did not make that much impact as a record label, like other record labels do, but as MANAGEMENT. Most average people who are hip hop heads are not going to know who the Violators are or even who Chris Lighty was. The only reason you hear about people who aren't the stars (Diddy, Suge, Dame Dash, etc) is because they placed themselves DIRECTLY NEXT to the stars any chance they had.
