Mufasa's Theme from the beautiful soundtrack of the Lion King. Composed by Hans Zimmer.
This is probably the best theme Hans Zimmer ever wrote in my opinion. The Mufasa theme is really epic and dramatic the same time. Wonderful work by Hans Zimmer. I really can't wait for to see the new Lion King movie. The trailer is really looking amazing and I am pretty sure the movie will be amazing.

YOU PIECE OF AAH!
1:18 Just hearing this bit brings back a lot of memories from my childhood and makes me cry.
Really beautiful music and arrangement.
Thank you! I can still remember this scene while I was a child. Such a great movie with a magnificent score. Personally I still think this is Hans Zimmer's best work and I am really curious to the new soundtrack :)
@@NoudvanHarskamp thank you , thank you , you are great...😭😭😭😭
Ikr! Such an emotional song it fits in so well with the movie! Each scene where this plays brings real emotion for the audience and helps build the story!
I wanted to give your comment a like because I'm the same way but at this moment you're at 420 likes. I can't be the one to tarnish that
Master of the Score exatamente
"Look at the stars. The great kings of the past look down on us from those stars."

"Yes. So whenever you feel alone, just remember that those kings will always be there to guide you... And so will I."

Hans Zimmer is a absolute beast! His Lion King work is the stuff of legends!
Yes definetely his best score!
All of hanz zimmers work is the stuff of legends 👑
Killerdoughnut 85 period!
@@NoudvanHarskamp I guess his best score was Interestellar, that is just amazing and gives life to the movie! =D
@@NoudvanHarskamp split between this and Pirates of the Caribbean
The moment when Mufasa dies is sad enough then they had to add the most heartbreaking song to accompany it. Lion King is my favorite Disney movie of all time but its still hard to sit through this part
Exactly
Jeremy Stineman as soon as the music starts I just cant hold back my tears
You can still take that grief and help save real lions who are dying out.
FACTS
Reminds me of littlefoot’s mom
*Simba... You have forgotten me.*
Simba: No how could I?
*you have forgotten who you are and so forgotten me... look inside yourself simba. You are more then what you have become! You must take your place in the circle of life.*
Simba: how can I go back! I'm not who I used to be...
*remember who you are. You are my son and the one true king.*
I can imagine them talking over the music as i listen 😭
Caitlin SAME IM CRYING 😭😭
@@lo0le_r952 *Remember....*
That's where I started crying
I let all my tears come out during this scene. I lost my dad, this gave me so many memories
This tune gives me shivers all the time.
I think the reason The Lion King hit us so hard as children is because losing a parent is every child’s worst nightmare. And that’s exactly what happened to Simba. We see how scary it is for a child to suddenly have their protector ripped away from them, feeling helpless and unsure of what to do.
At 37 it kills you... I don't wanna know how it would have felt losing him as a child
I lost my father as a 9 year old girl in 2014. His death was caused by heart attack and he was only 35 years old. It's not a murder (thank goodness), but it's still the worst. I adored my dad, he was and always will be my everything. And I wanna live for him, because I know that what he always wanted.
@@anastasya445 send you a big, big hug!!
@@usagi18 Thank you so much! I appreciate it.
I felt the same way when I lost both my grandfathers from my mom and dad’s sides of the family.
“Remember who you are...”
“No, please! Father! Don’t leave me...”

Don't even know what i'm supposed to enjoy more in this video.
The music or the visuals.
Answer is yes
I say, is it to much to ask for both?
Everything ❤️❤️❤️

"Remember who you are. You are my son and one true king."
😔😭
+Bhushan Garje: My dad tells me that....
Ultra D-Rex no the hell he dont
"...help" 😭
Reminds me when my dad help me all the time Im glad he is still alive
😭😢
The two most emotional scenes in The Lion King. 1) When Mufasa dies. And 2) When Mufasa forms in the clouds to talk to his discouraged and lost son.
''One day, Simba, the sun will set on my time here, and will rise with you as the new king.''
Ejder Avcı poor Simba, now he knows what Mufasa meant by that he learned the horrid way. 😢
In the Broadway show, when Simba is greeted by his family and friends after the battle for Pride Rock, the sun actually rises in the background as Rafiki brings the king’s mantle to put on him- signifying that he is now the king.
Scar the worst enemy
I'm not crying, you're crying...
Ok, I might be crying a little
Its not like people can see the tears, your a fish!
Cab Bass the fish cried the river

That's where I lost it too!
Sigh...
No......Mufasa
Omg....this made me cry, like just the image popping up when he says daad get up we gotta go home...dad...that shit cut deep into my young heart...havent healed sence than...
When he pulls his ear to wake him up😭 *hic*😭
I am ur 222th like
You got to wake up dad? We have to go home
A lump in my throat. A brilliant creation by Mr. Zimmer and a magical performance by the pianist
One of Zimmer's best Creation in my opinion as well. Thanks for the kind compliments☺️
No music in this world will ever top this masterpiece. Lion king is legendary❤️
Beautiful!!
Thanks Karliene! How is life over there?
Is it crazy that this version makes me cry lije the whole movie does? 😭😭😭
no me too! i just picture each scene it’s in and it makes me so emotional!
Every version of this piece will make tears roll down your face. Hans Zimmer was the one who started the try not to cry challenge.
I have just one sentence to say about this....
Awesome
Awesome is a word not sentence.... hope you are not offended
@@moeensiddiqui8125 you can have one word sentences though
@@AJV2000 Yes you can...
But awesome is a word..

1:18 Just hits you in the feels doesn't it?
Sure does...😭😭
I can't stop crying, because I remember my childhood
"As King, I was most proud of one thing. Having you as my son."
"That was a long time ago."
"No, Simba, that is for ever."
"Please! Don't leave me, Dad!"
"I never left you, and never will.... Remember who you are...."
Without the video never realized how much of a churchy feeling this song has.
Wow.... this made me cry. Like no joke. Amazing, great job man.
I felt this on a emotional level, it is so beautiful and sad at the same time! The Lion King was released 1994, the year I was born.
Joanna Fieldew absolutely. Hearing the piano version alone gives you a lump in the throat. I was 11 when the film was released at the movies in 1994 and I remember going to the movies to see it and I absolutely loved it. I've still kept some of the merchandise released at the time as a childhood memory. I really hope that future generations watch the film and get from it what I did in 1994. No Disney movie matches The Lion King, especially the music, it's just in a completely different league of its own. But everyone must see it, both the original and the live action. 🦁❤️
@@greenkitty82 I 100% agree, absolutely every person needs to watch The Lion King, it is an icon and memorable movie! 💛
1:17 I Get goosebumps everytime I hear that part :( Amazing work from Hans Zimmer. And thank you for playing this on the piano. It brought this song to another level of work.
T_T
i love how this tune plays throughout the whole film but every time it becomes louder and more powerful. ugh i just love it
This is the best theme that Zimmer has ever wrote. Period.
Great performance by the way!
I can not agree with you more! Cheers!
Nha Interstellar is by far the best imo
@@Prod.Kermit768 No way, its very overrated. There is not even a Melody in it. This Mufasa theme is epic as hell. Great work by Zimmer. Definetely Zimmer on his best. I wish he finds back his great shape After this fantastic remake score.
@@NoudvanHarskamp Agree to disagree, but yeah this is fire
@@Prod.Kermit768 Yeah the Interstellar theme is my favourite too. It's so underrated
Me: ok, listening to it at work was not the best idea, now I really want to cry
Also me when video ends: ... again.
One of the most beautiful pieces ever composed from one of Disney's most beautiful masterpieces.
Fun fact- Hans Zimmer’s (the composer of this score) father died when he was really young so when he created this score it reflected almost his life so he made the score truly from his heart
Hans Zimmer is a genius.
The part you replayed in the outro is definitely the best part. It didn't really hit home for me till THAT bit played and a rush of memories from the movie came to mind. Goosebumps. Thanks for this. :)
Thanks Elizabeth. Oh, I love that first part as well. So dramatic and full of emotion it's one of the most touching scenes when Simba finds his father :'(
That part is I believe from the theme This Land though, not from Mufasa's Theme.
@@FreakieFan What cue do you think Hans wrote for Mufasa?
@@NoudvanHarskamp
Everything you played before that moment is from Mufasa's theme I believe. But Hans Zimmer likes to mish-mash themes, within other ones. (Cues of Circle of Life show up in his theme for Pride Rock later in the film), so it could be that This Land is used in Mufasa's theme
I'm not crying.
Who's crying.
*You're* crying!
This theme always reminds me my dad.
He has an accident 5 years ago, he fell from a second floor... And I saw him hits the street.
He still alive, but after that, the entire Lion King took a new meaning for me
My oh my.... you have no idea how much I cried 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 it's beautiful. And heartbreaking. Congratulations
Just came here from the 2019 Lion king and I'm already in tears 😢

now im crying....great work tho
I listened to this about 5 times, with tears in my eyes. Wonderful, miss you Dad.
Even only piano version still make me cry. What the magic behind this scores? 😭
"Dad? We're pals, right? And we'll always be together, right?"
Dreamy Shinamon such an emotional line of the love between a father and son. I almost completely lose it at that point even before the tragedy! 😪
Simba. Let me tell you something that my father told me.

Whenever I hear this theme, I think of my father the last time I talked with him. He was in hospice care from the effects of cancer treatment. I miss him so much

You have forgotten me?
