Mass Closure of Car Factories in Russia

  • Car factories operated in Russia based on Western technologies, mostly of French origin. Now, when these companies were driven out of the federation, Chinese manufacturers viewed it as their star time. Most of the civilian car market is taken by Chinese cars already, and they even move the assembly process to Russia, thus 'killing off' the remains of the industry.

So he gives his car to be checked and the mechanic askes him, if he was extremly drunk when welding stuff at the car. That was in West-Germany, so the mechanic wasn't familiar with the russian build "quallity".

The sick thing to me is that Russia suffered so much to create some kind of nice society -- enduring, over the past 100 or so years, wars, civil-wars, famines, gulags, executions, the USSR collapse, etc. Along the way, there was so much sacrifice: human wave attacks, women, children and old men working in factories (in WWII), huge canals dug by hand, cosmonauts burning alive... If you measure by effort and lives lost, then what's left should be a gosh-darn paradise! But it's as if all the effort was squandered and wasted. They are a blah country now. Grey, cold, old, primitive, and ruled by a dictator without the charisma of Stalin or the regal aura of the Czars. What will become of them?

Russia has made the same mistake Canada has by positioning itself as a resource exporter instead of using those resources for domestic production and exporting the surplus. This has really bitten Russia in the rear end as sanctions have limited their industrial capabilities as they relied too much on importing materials and technology for what domestic production they do have forcing the country to rely on using what it can get from where it can get it, meaning the likes of lower quality producers like China, N. Korea, and India.

In my opinion, the West gets more benefit from the plant closures and firing of skilled workers than it loses from Russia's importation of low quality Chinese cars. I hope there are follow-up reports on how those cars do in Russia's winters.
In the meantime, Russia is losing the capacity the U.S.A. had in WW II to convert its factories to produce military trucks, etc. The U.S.A. became known as the "arsenal of democracy" because it was able to ramp up production.
Today, Russia is losing its production capacity and relying more and more on imports from China, North Korea, Iran, etc., while the cost of these imports goes up as the ruble falls in value against the yuan and rupee.

The decline in production capacity in the Russian car industry is certainly a significant issue. If half of the car factories in Russia have been unable to restore production for two years, it could indicate a range of challenges faced by the industry.
There could be multiple reasons contributing to this decline. One possible factor is the overall economic situation in Russia, which has faced various challenges including fluctuations in oil prices, international sanctions, and geopolitical factors. These uncertainties can impact consumer confidence and purchasing power, resulting in lower demand for cars and subsequently affecting production.
Another factor could be the global economic situation, including the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic has caused disruptions in supply chains, shortages of raw materials, and reduced demand worldwide. These factors, coupled with the lockdowns and restrictions on movement imposed to contain the virus, have severely affected manufacturing industries, including car production.
Additionally, the car industry is undergoing a transformation globally, driven by advancements in electric and autonomous vehicles. It's possible that some car factories in Russia have struggled to adapt to these changes, which could further impact their production capacity.
To address this issue, it would be important for the Russian government and industry stakeholders to analyze the specific reasons behind the decline and take appropriate measures. This may involve implementing supportive policies, providing financial incentives, upgrading production facilities, and investing in research and development to foster innovation.
Promoting collaboration between car manufacturers and technology companies could also be beneficial in adapting to the evolving automotive landscape. This could involve partnerships for developing electric or autonomous vehicles, which are gaining popularity worldwide.
Ultimately, restoring production capacity in Russia's car industry requires concerted efforts from all stakeholders involved, including industry leaders, government authorities, and the workforce. By addressing the challenges and embracing industry changes, there is potential for the car factories in Russia to regain their production capabilities and contribute to the country's automotive sector once again. Apart from the factors mentioned earlier, there could be specific challenges that are unique to the Russian car industry. For example, infrastructure limitations, outdated production techniques, or a lack of investment in research and development can hamper the ability of car factories to restore production capacity.
To address these challenges, it would be crucial to modernize infrastructure and manufacturing processes by implementing advanced technologies and automation. This could increase efficiency and productivity, ultimately helping to restore production levels. Moreover, investing in research and development can stimulate innovation, leading to the development of new and competitive vehicles that appeal to both domestic and international markets.
Collaboration between government bodies and industry stakeholders is paramount in formulating supportive policies and initiatives. This could include offering tax incentives, facilitating access to financing, and supporting workforce development programs to ensure a skilled labor force capable of meeting the industry's evolving needs.
Furthermore, fostering partnerships with international automotive manufacturers and suppliers can bring valuable expertise and technology transfer, promoting the overall growth of the car industry in Russia. Joint ventures or strategic alliances may allow for the exchange of knowledge, resources, and market access, leading to a more competitive and robust manufacturing sector.
Additionally, promoting domestic demand for cars through various measures such as subsidies, incentives, or consumer awareness campaigns can stimulate market recovery and provide a necessary boost to production levels. It is crucial to instill consumer confidence and generate interest in purchasing automobiles despite economic challenges.
Overall, restoring production capacity in the Russian car industry is a complex task that requires a multifaceted approach, encompassing economic stability, technological advancements, supportive policies, and collaboration among industry players. By addressing these challenges head-on and implementing effective strategies, the industry can strive towards revitalization and regain its significance in both domestic and international automotive markets.

They have captured the whole of Russia without firing a single bullet. All Russians are now indirectly owned by China.😂😂😂😂

All that money the muscovans are losing, just by having to import their favorite car brands via grey markets. Because most muscovans really just want a "western" car, not those cheapo chinese or domestic avtovaz products. Now they have to pay way more, while e.g.Turkish, Georgian, Kasakh resellers laugh all the way to the bank. That the corrupt leaders have to pay more for their Mercedes-Benz cars is something they don't care about, they just steal more money from the public budgets, while the average muscovan gets even less in return for their taxes. But who cares, they deserve it.
