I've been eyeballing the Jeep Gladiator truck ever since the day it was released. This Jeep will be a perfect fit for offroading with the family. I have alot of videos and mods planned for this Jeep, but dont worry, the Wrangler mods and videos will continue!
A few months ago i was torn between a few choices... After finishing the One ton swap video series, i wanted to start a Junkyard V8 Engine swap series. However after a few weeks of planning, and pricing out parts, i realized the project would take me months to complete. Even with another Jeep as a daily driver, the V8 swap series would take up almost all of my free time in order to film an easy to follow and informative DIY video series. Dont worry, that project will still happen in due time, just not this year.
Since the V8 swap wasnt going to happen, i started thinking about getting a JL Wrangler to make videos on. The JLs are becoming very popular, and there is a ton of misinformation on the internet about them. Even then, i could not justify a 3rd Wrangler...
Then the Gladiators start hitting the dealerships... Im hooked, these things are amazing! Dont listen to the internet crabby naysayers, this is a real truck, and a real Jeep, all in one. And in future videos you will see that!
This Jeep Gladiator will allow me to enjoy more offroad and camping trips "Overland and some moderate rock crawling" with my family, and in the end thats what matters.
This Gladiator will also allow me to start making videos that pertain to JL owners as well, since they are practically the same from the bed forward.

I think the gladiator wheelbase warrants 40s or 42s, even if you have to wait for 10k thumbs up

35s are fine unless you plan on rock crawling that thing. I had 35s on my JK & now 35s on my JL & they look beefy on a 17” wheel. I run light trails - minimal to no rock action; sitting on a 2” lift. Have zero desire to go higher nor bigger tires.
What’s your favorite of your 3 jeeps? I’ve owned JK’s for years, gladiator on order and just bought an LJ rubicon in electric lime green! Looking forward to the LJ!

I go out in the wilderness with my daughter in our Jeep for 5 days. Camping and wheelin’ and visiting hot springs. Then come back to the RUclips subscription world and it’s been turned upside down.
Ben from JK Gear and Gadgets is now in a silver Jeep and Brad from Trail Recon is in a red Jeep.
They did a switch-a-roo on us guys. 🤷🏻♂️

Awesome glad you got one. I just got one a while back. I think 37s are the minimum for the Gladiator because the belly is so long.
I think I’m going to put 38s on mine. I plan to actually wheel it. Everyone said the 4 door JK was too long when it came out and they say the same about the Gladiator but I think it will perform great

When the 4 door Jeeps came out I thought it was an abomination. I hated them, but then they grew on me and I actually love them. I think the same thing is happening to me with the Gladiator. Congrats on the purchase and great way to open the video BTW!
I went and test drove the truck and loved it. However my two girls are just entering their teen years. For the same price of the Gladiator I ordered a loaded 2019 Powerwagon. Now I will tow my Rubicon with it so I can go wheel out west.

Dude, we really need to get together I have an '08 JK on 35's with all kinds of upgrades and have a year pass to Uwharrie for 2019. Just watched you take the new Gladiator there and have done the same trails (in the opposite direction)😎 need to go up them with an experienced off roader. Love the 3 Jeeps btw. I hate the gladiator off the assembly line but looks soooo nice lifted with 37s! I'm jelly and I'm still not waving at Glads.
You should use the diy raptor liner for the bedliner. Also maybe some rock trix rt105 wheels with Yokohama tires.

Me too. Ever since I had my little Tonka Jeep when I was a little kid in the 60s Still debating whether to buy a Gladiator. I need the towing capacity but the price is killing me. It would take all of my savings. Still thinking about it.
It's a Power Wagon Jr once you put on a winch, lift it and install larger meats. I love the Gladiator. I miss my old TJ, love my current PW. This is the best of both worlds in my opinion. Looking forward to seeing this get beefed up.

I want a gladiator. However, as much as I like the rubicon, I would choose a base sport soft top and keep the 5 speed manual, add the regular towing package, limited slip differential. Aux switch package, tonneau cover. That way I can get most of my necessary capability and knock off almost $5,000 to $6,000 or more off the price. About the only color I would not get is white. No need to pay extra for all that extra fancy stuff when I am going to add the aftermarket scratch and dent package anyway. Besides, now days, a 5 speed manual is a good anti theft device. Many thieves don’t know how to drive them.
Sounds like a good plan!! However I will strongly suggest the 8 speed auto, that is one of the best things that Jeep has offered in a long time. It’s amazing, and outperforms the manual

Not really, Jeep only sold 40k in 2019, thats almost as many Ridgelines that Honda sold. However, the Tacoma sold 1/4 million units in 2019, everyone drives those.
I haven't driven with the Falken Wildpeak M/Ts. But the latest ATs are damn good and not any louder than the stock tires were on my JLU Sport S. Most impressive to me was how well the ATs did on snow covered pavement. We had a bit of a blizzard and I had no issues 'carefully' getting around in 1 foot of snow.

I wish they would've had this concept for the TJ. I'd love me a bare bones Wrangler with extra storage like this. All the extra electronics are a turn off though, oh well.

Why are you needing dual lockers and a winch, and 37s on a daily. Plus why the fuck would you get this vehicle if you are dailying it. Colorado, Tacoma, frontier, ranger, all do what this does but better.

@@JKGearandGadgets we did, it's a launch edition, same billet color as yours. Drove an Unlimited back to back with the Gladiator and it seemed like the JT drove nicer. Ended up liking it a lot more than I thought I would, it's pretty sharp.

If people won't wave to a Gladiator, they probably shouldn't wave at anything newer than a CJ. A Jeep that has a removable top and doors is worthy of the wave.

Find a way to pick up extra cash each month! I used to install Jeep parts for extra cash, that helped pay off the Jk really fast.
Side jobs or small projects outside of your normal job is what helps bring in the extra cash! It does take your free time away, but find something for a year and you set yourself up for success for the next few years

I’m a ZR2 Duramax owner.. enjoyed your video! Was initially going Gladiator but dealers in my area have a 20k markup across the product line, so ZR2 it was and honestly no buyers remorse. Only bitch I have with the pending JT eco diesel is the VM Motori Italian made diesel powering it... the problems you mentioned and diesel gate are probably the reason for the delayed launch in the JL/JT. Personally Cummins should be under the hood of that American icon 🤣🤣!! Good looking truck in silver, enjoy!

Well, loosing another RUclips jeep channel... watching the litebrite channel they were talking about their new hemi. 35 to 40 k on top of an 18 jlu Rubicon! Now this.... dont get me wrong man. I'm excited for you. Honest. But these channels are simply getting above my pay grade. Lol.
Well, my Jku is a 2010, it’s paid off. This is similar to anyone else who bought a JL or other truck, sure the payment is a little higher, but by no means am I rich.

Doug Bunyard I feel ya, watching RUclips makes me want to spend money too. The good thing is that we can watch them spend the money, and get feedback. I base my purchases on seeing what other things they get and use more. Plus most youtubers actually use the stuff opposed to the sale websites that just push profit margins
