- It was finally time to install a full suspension lift kit on our Jeep Gladiator!!!
I really wanted to take my time, and take you guys along for the journey in each stage.
My goal was to show everyone how the Jeep Gladiator handled, looked, and performed in each stage, with the goal of helping those who were undecided on which setup would fit their needs best.
Its time to hit the trails with a full 3.5" suspension lift kit from Clayton Offroad. But before we dive into that, here are some links of the videos i made up until this point.
We started off stock and hit the trails; • Taking Our New Jeep Gl...

Cassie and i decided that the best way to make a video talking about the new suspension lift would be to go out and enjoy a day on the trails. We hit the road, 3 hours later arriving at Flagpole OHV trail in Virginia. This is sadly one of the closest trails to us, so any type of offroading requires a hefty drive. The Clayton kit handles very well on road, and still drives like its brand new even at highway speeds.
We aired down to 12PSI, and hit the trails! This is a simple trail with no intense rock crawling, however there are a few cool water crossings and muddy areas. There are some optional rocky sections that added to the fun. The new suspension soaked up the bumps, at slow crawling speeds and at a higher offroad pace as well.
I hope you enjoy the video, because it was a very fun day of adventure on the trails!!
We even met Daniel and his girlfriend about halfway on the trail. We met back up and took a look at his rebuilt Jeep Comanche, which is a very capable rig!
Stay tuned for more videos soon! The plan is to continue reviewing and testing this suspension in various terrains, and hope to have a group ride in PA soon!
Next up will be the install and first look at the Rooftop tent!
Hopefully you can start see the build goal for the Jeep Gladiator...
This suspension fit everything i was looking for. I wanted a strong setup, something that rode very well, and a kit that still allowed for great offroad handling paired with the same great road manners while still being a simple and reliable suspension setup.
Thanks for watching and ill see you soon!
-Ben
What suspension are you running on your Jeep? And how do you like it?
More giveaways coming soon! So be sure to leave comments, give the video a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel!
2.5in rock krawler flex w fox shocks. Love it! Tested it out at hidden falls for my bday couple weekends ago.
4" zone offroad springs( might be upgrading to 4.5" rock krawler), bilstein shocks and rock krawler adj control arms on my 97 tj. The combo works very well offroad and as a daily driver.
Looking at the 2.5 skyjacker lift. Dont want to go any higher than that. What are you doing with the budget boost kit?
Skid plate jeep the budget boost is gone, a local JT owner now has it.
JK Gear and Gadgets I have a 3 inch Zone off-road lift kit on my Jeep jk aNd I love it and I love the stance of your gladiator. You vids are awesome!!!
Dude, you are so lucky. Your woman can wheel and take care of the kids at the same time. That Comanche is way cool.
So cool that you bumped into a fan on the trails and actually hung out with him. That tells me how genuine you guys are. Another great video!
The 3.5in looks great on it. Not over the top, and goes really well with the 37s!
Always thought Clayton were often getting overlooked and underrated. Made In house from materials locally outsourced...and love how they set up their booths with full disclosure and transparency at Jeep events.
I’ve never seen there booth setup before. I’m interested now.
@@JKGearandGadgets basically just a frame on wheels so you can see the whole kit mounted and the presentation/demo the reps give are awesome...they break it down! They're always at the Great American Jeep Bash in CT that Gil & Eric host.
You have no idea how many times my wife and I had to “rock paper scissors” when it came to our kids. Amazing video from you two once again
That’s a great video right there! Even Dan was running Clayton off-road lift. That’s what I want to run on my JT. Thank you for sharing this time with you beautiful family.
The JT is coming along great! That flex was immense and there was plenty of clearance with the kit! Glad to hear the secret tent is coming soon!
@ Kyle Vitale...GE Aviation?
Cassie did a great job as your Stunt-Double. LOL. It was great to see the two generations of Jeep trucks wheeling together. You and Daniel have got to meet up again for some more wheeling. His Comanche is a beast for sure. What are the odds he would also have Clayton arms?
Love my Clayton Kit! I have the 2.5 overland on my JLUR with Fox Shocks and 38s.
Really enjoy every video on your and your wife's channel. Please don't stop doing your own installs and get borderline arrogant like some other channels have sadly changed into.
@ nastycbr other channels always trying to get you to spend money. And Cassie lets Ben talk. Plus Cassie can wheel.
borderline arrogant? more like full on narcissistic if you ask me
@@deeznutz9063 I agree, but was trying to be nice lmao.
@@deeznutz9063 dude, i'm happy you pointed that out, add annoying as f**k
Love the flex of your Gladiator. The trails with water crossings are fun.
I have a Clayton long arm kit on my WJ the quality is second to none!
In our local group we have a stock gladiator and one with a 3.5"+37a and its amazing the difference it makes. There's obstacles that the stock one gets hung up on that the lifted one just crawls over like it wasn't there. Awesome video as always
Great video but the Jeep Comanche was super cool. If you can show some more of it. Old school is still cool!!
I flipped a canoe on Sherando lake in the GW National forest years ago. Almost lost my wallet. I camped out many times there before leaving for the Air Force. Lived in Midlothian until recently (suburb of Richmond). Now have a gladiator and living in Florida on the treasure coast. Great Jeep weather and vibe down here. Great videos by the way.
this truck has gone so far and looks so good
It has! More to come, however the plan is to keep it very functional and simple while still being able to handle anything we throw at it
Your gladiator looks awesome lifted! I know a lot of people don’t like the looks of gladiators but lifted they look like nothing else on the road and trail. I have a red Launch Edition and love it with 2” lift and 35s. Will go higher later
Ben, love how it looks. Great to see that the girls to wheeling. You are making a great rig!!! Can’t wait to see the tent.
Thanks for watching! hopefully ill be able to get the tent on tomorrow and post the video soon
I called it! Clayton makes great products.👍
Love it! I have Clayton spring and control arms. Beefy and great ride.
Great video. The lift height looks really good. The trip with the wife and kids is what’s really important, however you are setting your children up for a hardcore jeep addiction 🤣
Looks like a fun trip, Cassie killed it behind the wheel!
Great video and looks like that new kit works really great for what you are going to use it for! Look forward to the install video.
Gladiator looks good! You should bring it up to Washington State and hit some of our trails!
Ben, you are really stepping up your production quality! Loved all of the drone footage! Clayton makes some great products and their original shop was 1/2 mile from where I grew up!
Besides my 4” Currie lift I have seven slot customs skid plates and those things are bad ass! 1/4” thick while most are only 3/16” thick
Plus super easy install and no drilling!!
I bought this exact kit in December for my 2019 JLUR! After months of research looking for a low to no maintenance heavy duty kit, this is by far the best bang for the buck. 5/16 inch steel bushing mounts and 1/4 inch thick square tubes for the lower arms. Nothing stronger out there. Waiting to be able to afford tires to do the install. So glad to see a RUclipsr running a Clayton kit. Cant wait to see your install video. Did you buy the 1-7/16 inch and 1-13/16 wrenches to do the install? I ended up getting a 1 1/2 also lol.
Another great video Ben ! It won’t be long before Cassie will be able to out wheel you ! 😉 Looks like the Clayton lift kit is a perfect choice.
now that would be a great video! Ben vs Cassie offroad lol
Another great video! Loved watching the Gladiator off road side by side with the Comanche!
The gladiator looks great. Can't wait to see the lift install
Enjoyed the video. Glad to see a video with a different lift kit option for the Gladiators.
Thanks! That was also another reason behind the lift. i wanted something that not everyone has on their Rigs
Gladiator looks great. Only thing I would think about is the Thin Turn Signal lights for the front fenders. It might allow more clearance of where you rubbed while flexing.
The Gladiators do look pretty damn good with a lift and bigger tires. It looks like they still have the windshield curse though. The Jeep is looking good!
Same old windshield issues 😏
Looks awesome with the 37s and the lift.
Ready to take it out wheeling again! I might have to steal the drivers seat next time too😅
Just started watching you videos tonight... love the journey love the honesty. Keep it up... we are getting the Jeep down in Australia mid year . 👍
I have the 2.5 AEV dualsport XT suspension system. And I love it. The handling on it is awesome.
Another aswome video, that gladiator will a beast of a daily driver.ive seen square driveshafts before, don't know how they ran on the road, but the guy said if it would run on his tractor it would be fine on the Jeep
I can wait for the diy (hopefully 4 link) lj install so I can follow it exactly
Very cool to see a video at Flagpole via Union Springs! Wish I knew about your channel when you all were still in the area
Great video as always guy's !! Pretty nice meeting one of your followers on the trail and setting up a wheeling trip . Keep up the great work and until next time take care .
Ok that MJ is sick! Great home build! Love the front axle set up.
Union Springs to Flagpole is always fun!
nice!!!! Clayton makes great stuff!
Big Snatch is one of the main off-road shops here in Fredericksburg, it's them and OCD off-road (my preferred shop) lol
So much fun! Thanks guys. Keep'm coming 👍🏻
Ive always love the Comanches as well
Great video, can't wait to see the install. We were just on that trail last week - wife and kid and a blast.
Great video! New Gladiator owner. Note putting lights on auto ...the halos are on in daytime. Only day running lights on fenders are on with switch to ofc position.
I love this build. 😍 I can’t wait to get one eventually!
That was a great video brother. That Comanche rocks. Both vehicles are awesome. I gotta get a Gladiator Jeep. Thanks for sharing
I love that Cassy drives too that is one thing Lite Brite is missing.
okay i see the lifted vibezzzzzzzzzzzz
I’m digging that lift on this Jeep. I’ll definitely do this if I get one
Love the flex on the Gladiator. I was hoping to see the back end when Cassie got to the hump and dip area. It looks great though.
Its looking good can't wait to see what comes next
Gladiator is lookin awesome. Love the sound of it. Them flex shots were sick, probably one of my favorite things about them and off roading in general, love me some sexy flex. I know you didn't want to over do it with the drone shots but I really like it
I’m running a 4” Currie enterprise lift kit with all 8 adj control arms
Anti rock front with no sway bar on rear
Yeti steer smarts steering
And I love how it rides and handles
Was just up there in November. That Comanche was sweet, oh and the gladiator was kinda cool too.
Jeep is looking amazing 👌🏻 Comanche looked good too, nice duet
Looking great! cant wait to see how the rack an tent work together!
“Almost at the end of the trail” lol, I say it all the time, even when we first hit the trailhead with the kids🤣 great video, awesome lift, thanks for sharing guys!
I enjoy your videos. Love seeing the whole family involved. I do wish you would upgrade your hand held camera. Thanks for sharing.
Love the Vision wheels. Got the same for my JK thanks to you and they are great. Lift looks great too! 😎
what sized tires are you running? appologies for not catching a previous video with that info. edit: stated in this video, 37" all terrains! looks great.
That's a sweet Comanche!
what a good articulation with that kit
holy cracked windshield batman!
Good suspension choice 🤘🏻
I rock 35-12.5 all terrain on my 2013 jk and never had a problem, I use it as a daily driver and off road.
I like the progress of the Gladiator. Nice rig!
I swear it seemed like forever for you guys to release a new video 🤣. I’m glad that you guys got them released!
cracked windshield? thought I was on lightbrite for a second........ another awesome video man keep up the great work.
Another great video Ben! Was going through some withdrawals lol. Gladiator looks awesome. I'm just waiting for my snowbanks to go away a bit so I can get back on my JKU.
Love the look of the truck and love watching this build.
Congrats to Steven!
Great video as always!
You should start doing fan rides! 🤞🏻
I've been looking at the clayton 3.5 overland + as well this just might push me to buy it
Keep up the great content. See you at Rausch soon
Gladiator dealing some crack! Have Clayton on the front and rear of the XJ, beefy AF.
Great day of wheeling.
It was a fun one, simple and easy but just as much fun
Great video loved the lift kit and Comanche!! Cassie has a heavy foot...😂😂
You should see her on a dirtbike 🤣
You guys are just awesome!!!
Your lucky that that side of the mountain wasn’t all ice! Usually is this time of year. Big snatch is a company in Fredericksburg.
I remember a few years ago i went for the first time, it was like driving on an ice rink
You should take your jeeps to the Cove campground and Jeep park up in Gore,VA
If bed is "mounted"(good word) up 1ft from frame I can get my slide out boxes/bed extenders. But the bed needs to full tilt God option so u can add bench open air seat or frame supported bike/dirt bike e bike/ chopper ramp up on to frame "mount". Still need a tail gate double thick that folds flat onto extended slide outs to make full bed length too.
Nice video!! Running some unknown 2.5 inch springs with bilstein5100s and it does great! Just got some used Teraflex flex arms that I need to install but I’m having trouble getting the old bushing sleeves out... 😬
Wheeling trip to Uwahrie!
Even though you did plan on how the video came out it is still a great video..ni injoyed every min of it.. Plus the guy with the Comanche that was awsome....
Bro, fix your windshield.... 😂
Looks like a fun trail, good info about the lift kit.
Really like your opening with the music it was amazing
Looks great! Good video. Can't wait to get play Gladiator also. I may be waiting for the diesel though.
Good info, thanks! I’m down for the RC trip if you want another JTR there on 37’s.
gzzz Steven. and guys make a video on your LP6 lights plz....:)
Will do!!
You explain stuff so well it very easy to understand love the vids!
Looking super sick! Good job dude
Thanks man! Hope to see you guys soon
JT is lookin’ good man, nice job.
Cassie has some wheelin' skills!
Ben, if you make it to trial hero I will have my MJ on tons out there.
