    Hi Marty,
    Thanks for posting all of these box videos. They have really inspired me to make some small boxes for various things. Keep it up

    Nice setup. I like the drawer-locking groove feature; simple & effective.

    This is a beautiful box. On your next box it would be nice to see you partition off cubbies for your planes and router plane with very thin wood partitions, to provide more protection between the tools. Also your ingenious use of rare earth magnets similar to your larger work box would be nice additions where you need them in this tote.

    What a great video marty, the simple draw catch is ingenious, I think i shall make a variation on this design myself as Im in need of a tool tote for small jobs around the house and at my mother's.
    Also I can see this video doing quite well view wise, most tool box videos seem to do so.
    Keep it up marty, atb, Dan.

      +UnTrucDrole (Freddy DENIAU) Thanks. The black box is my Dutch Toolchest that I made during a Chris Schwarz workshop.

      +Smokin with Chris Thanks for the nice comment. I subscribe to Shopnotes, where I originally saw it. Just Google Shopnotes & 120 and you'll find it. I think you can purchase individual issues.

    Very handy tote Marty. If you could do it over again, what material would you make it out of so it would be lighter?

    • @MartyBacke
      @MartyBacke  9 лет назад

      GuysWoodshop I want to make one out of sugar pine. But for the handle I'll probably still use laminated Baltic Birch plywood - it looks cool and is very strong.

  • @RobertoDonatti
    @RobertoDonatti 8 лет назад

    Could it be made lighter using plain wood rather than plywood?

    • @MartyBacke
      @MartyBacke  8 лет назад

      Absolutely. For speed I made it with dense plywood. If I do get a chance to make another one it will be out of sugar pine.

    man that tool tote hasnt spent more than 5 minutes on site... and neither have any of your tools...
    quite nice though

    • @MartyBacke

      Well, I'm not a carpenter so my tools don't get much abuse. I've only used the tote a few times for some workshops in my local area, otherwise my tools are in my workshop tool chest. I keep all my tools in nice condition and never throw them around or open paint cans with them. So they always look good, but are definitely used - I'm not a tool collector :-)
