@DragonC07 I don't think it was every explicitly stated. But there are moments where he relishes it and you can see its desirable for him. The biggest moment i can immediately think of is when he first meets Jarl Borg. And Borg says "you are the famous ragnar" and ragnar has a big smirk.
No he never wanted fame, he just wanted to sail west! He had fame because the people admire him and most of all he became king because of the people around him. Ragnar is like Ubbe in the end, Ubbe represents Ragnar alot. Ubbe at season 6 discovers a land that his father wanted before fame and fulfilled his father's dreams without becoming a king.
@@robertfarrell3792 thats true, but things you dont want or seek can still have parts that you makes you feel good or ecstatic. Does not mean he wanted it though. I dont think hes ever wanted power and fame
What Ragnar feels in this scene resonates with all of us one some level. We all crave for ambition, fame , power, money... but we realize too late that the most precious moments of our lives are with our families and friends. And in today's time becoming successful has turned so obsessive that we forget that a simple live is also a good life.
Well said, I don't write comments generally unless they have a deep meaning behind it. You nailed it, we just need to value what matters the most and set a good example of being human being!

This scene proves Lagertha was always the love of his life, his soulmate, no matter what. Ragnar loved all of his sons more than anything, but Björn always hit him different. Maybe because he was his first child, or because he was Lagertha’s son, or just because they have a different connection.

Everything started when a fan pointed that Bjorn could be Rollo's son because of his previous relationship with Lagertha.
