How Gratitude Shapes our Lives - Khutbah by Nouman Ali Khan

  • This khutbah was given on 9/29/2017 in the Bayyinah musalla.
After escaping the clutches of Pharaoh, Prophet Musa (PBUH) and his people found themselves in the middle of the desert with no food, shelter, or hope for survival. It was at this point that Allah chose to remind them about gratitude.
What we learn from this passage from Surah Ibrahim is that, when we are faced with insurmountable challenges and odds, we must recognize that it is only with Allah's help that we can be successful. If we are able to rise to this higher level of faith and only think of reasons why we should be grateful to Allah, especially at a time when our mind is being invaded by worries and negativity, then Allah has definitely promised that He will increase every possible avenue for good around us.
With this divine guidance and formula from the Quran, may we all find solace during our difficulties, peace during turmoil, and success during hardships. Ameen.
Please share this reminder with your friends and loved ones. Ustadh Nouman will be giving a new khutbah every Friday inshallah. Please keep him, his family, and everyone at Bayyinah Institute in your dua'a.

Ashik Abdullah What exactly does ISNA do as an organization ??? As a Muslim growing up in the US for over 20 years...I find it hard to find any personal impact ISNA has provided for me. I think the problem resides within the lack of traditional scholarship ISNA'S board consists of. We need a team of leaders with refined souls to lead the Muslims of America. And i dont really see that with ISNA. Most people on the board try to comform with American values whilst leaving Islamic values. We are facing an identity chrisis as Muslims living in America...and ISNA is confusing the identities of many American Muslims. Id argue ICNA is doing much better work than ISNA is with a smaller team and following. What are your thoughts!??!

Look into history of Islam - from the time of our beloved Prophet Muhammad s.a.w till this very moment - you will find fitnah upon fitnah engineered against the people who lived for Islam. Many years ago, my life was what felt like, destroyed by rumours and slanders and it broke me, but from that incredible crisis, which to this day has ramifications, Allah guided me to islam. I would go through that all again, if only to know the certainty and the guidance and the help of allah is true. Life is only ever meant to bring us back to Allah, even closer than before.

Beautiful profound and meaningful khutbah. Yes brother Nouman is absolutely right and correct. Almost everyday of my life, I remember Allah (swt) and am grateful and thankful to Him for many blessings that are uncountable. I know there are jealous people out there that have a lot of enmity and hatred filled in their hearts, and its disgusting and very disturbing to look at their faces that are so unbearable, so I avoid looking at their faces and look elsewhere and completely ignore them. Even Allah (swt) mentions them in the Qur'an when He says....."the disbelievers bite the tips of their fingers at you in rage when they are alone with their devils," and Allah says explicitly, "Perish in your rage and disbelief!!!!" Allahuakbar! May Allah (swt) grant us Paradise and save us from the wicked evil disbelieving lost worthless people, amen!

Ustadh NAK sir and all the Bayyinah family, may Allah SWT continue to keep you close knit and focused on the unseen with his guidance only. This education is so important to us all over the world. May Allah SWT give you patience, discernment and keep the Bayyinah family together as one strength.

I was waiting for this Khutba. It's an important one as his position needed to be clear and him coming forward and doing it was important in current climate. It's important to stay focus on the knowledge he shares and it's irrelevant for anyone to focus on his personal life, exactly as we don't want anyone to focus on ours. He didn't commit any crimes or even sins and people should stop trying to look for holes in his life but look into their own affairs and they will find out that they are bigger sinner not only but have less good deeds than him. Peace out.

Jazak Allahu khair, Ustath Nouman and may Allah protect you and your family. You are leading in hard times, Subhan'Allah!
Every day I study the Quran with Ustath Nouman through Bayyinah TV Alhamdulillah.
And last week, for the first time, Alhamdulillah I started giving Tafseer AlQuran in our masjid, based mostly on your tafseer.
I recommend Bayyina TV to everyone I meet. Being close to Quran has changed my life Alhamdulillah.
Funny thing is that I am an Arabic native speaker who is learning Tafseer AlQuran in English because it is the best to help me comprehend Alhamdulillah :)

Ustadh Nouman, if only Allah gave you the insight to be able to see the kheir you are causing on an individual level among young millennial Muslims. Not only will you be humbled that Allah gave you the eloquence and ability to spread his message to his slaves, but any kind of petty attempt to diverge attention from that spotlight can be easily shooed away by you. Why? Because you have bigger and better things to do. Stay strong, that petty attempt has already been forgotten by those who are here for the right reasons, so long as you preach his message Allah will always be with you!❤️
